Sophie
We went home after we celebrated with friends and family. Of course, I'm sure you know what happened... Logan made love to me so passionately. It felt right, like we belonged together, as it should have been from the beginning.
That same weekend, we took off to Dubai and we came back a few days after New Year.
Let me tell you, Dubai was beautiful, but it rained most nights, so the days were cold. I think next time we go, it will have to be during the summer instead.
Troy is getting married in a few weeks, so I have been busy helping him with the last details while he's away in business.
Also, Roxanne's case was closed. She not only had to serve a hundred and sixty days in jail for driving under the influence, but she also had a fine of ten thousand dollars, and sadly, she also got an extended eight years in jail for the injuries she caused me.
I wish things would have been different. I think the fine and the hundred and sixty days would be enough, but Logan was not easy on her.
Even then, he said she was still off easy, he could have gotten her more time, and if he didn't, it was because I begged him not to. I mean, eight years... This means that Kaitlyn will be fourteen years old when she gets out. And even then, she is not allowed to come near me, since Logan got a restriction order not only on me, but on Nate, and Kaitlyn as well.
She is considered a menace to her daughter, neglecting her for so long. She had no other choice but to grant her custody of her to Steven. She wasn't happy about it, but this was the agreement Logan made with her in exchange for less time in jail.
Dad and Derreck are keeping him busy most these days, so I have been picking up Nate and Kenzie on my own.
I also got to meet a new lawyer that joined their team, Amanda, or Mandy, as she likes to be called.
She has a son named Jordan that just became Nate's best friend. She is so fun to hang out with. Lexie and I have had a girl's night out with her. She's so wild and fun, but very serious about her work.
Her husband Leroy is nice too. A very strict man, but very nice. He's African-American which given her light skin and blonde locks, makes Jordan such a handsome little kid.
He has cute curly hair and dark chocolate eyes. I love his dark long lashes. They resemble Nate's lashes. Together they have become a great team.
They both protect Kenzie and Mia. Though something is odd, Mia's family doesn't seem to like them. Her sisters are always giving them weird looks, and from what I have been told by Nate, her dad has prohibited her from talking to Jordan.
I hope someday they can look past their difference and be good friends. I hate all this drama, I am so done with it.
Also, geez, I almost forgot to tell you... Steven just upgraded his home. He bought one of the new homes that were being built in town, it has four bedrooms. Kaitlyn is now living with him.
Her behavior has made a complete turn. She's so cheerful and happy all the time. She is now friends with my kiddos, and they get along.
Her grandma moved in with her, and sadly, her grandpa has been sentenced to prison as well. He was found guilty of embezzlement and is now serving twenty years in prison. I feel so bad for the guy. I mean, he's already limited to his movements.
He's in a wheelchair, and can hardly move, but I guess what he did to the other family was just as bad, if not more.
I have a huge surprise for Logan today when he comes home.
Nate and Kenzie have been asking me to bake them cookies, so I decided to make a special batch for him.
I finished baking them, allowed them to cool down, and decorated them. I then placed them in a special gold box and tied a ribbon around them. Now, to wait for him to come home.

I was exhausted. The day was long and tiresome. I can't wait to be home to my girl and see my son.
Sophie and I decided on a small wedding, just close friends and family in an outdoor wedding, right in our backyard.
She has been so excited looking for dresses and everything. But she has also had her hands full with Dylan and Troy's wedding.
I'm glad they'll be married soon. She'll be able to get a breather after that. But I'm glad I hired Amanda, she's not just a good lawyer, but she has been helping Sophie out so much.
Her husband, Leroy, and I have gotten along pretty well too. He's an investor, so I've asked him for advice since he has more years of experience than me. He gave me the offer to become a third partner with Mr. P and me, so I guess now, the vineyard has become a three partnership.
It's the icing more than ever, and Leroy has taken care of all the marketing and advertising for the wines we offer. If all goes well. I think we may have a chance to go global by the end of this year or the next.
I parked my vehicle in my driveway, turned off my engine, and rested my head back for a second. I sighed, closing my eyes.
I grabbed my suitcase, my phone, and keys and made my way inside.
"Hey, hey...anyone home?" I asked getting a couple of kiddos running toward me in a cheerful tone.
"Dad!"
"Uncle Logan." Kenzie and Nate ran towards me, giving me a big a huge hug.
Then, there she was, my girl. She walked toward me with a smile.
I felt her warm hands wrap around my nape. I grabbed her by the waist and pulled her towards me. I kissed her lips as they pulled into a smile and sighed. "Hi, baby." her sweet voice made me feel home.
"God, I missed you," I say, burying my face in her neck and tightening my hold around her.
"Dad, mom made cookies," Nate said excitedly. My eyes go wide and I smile at him.
"She did? Did you save me some?" I ado making him chuckle. Kenzie giggles and looks between Sophie and me.
"No," he says making me act hurt.
"No? Why? Why didn't you save one for me? You little cookie monster." I say grabbing him and tickling him.
"Uncle Logan, aunt Sophie saved some for you," Kenzie says making Sophie blush.
"She did, huh? That's my girl. Thank you, baby. At least someone thought of me." I say sticking my tongue out at Nate making him chuckle.
Sophie takes my hand and pulls me slightly, making me wrap my arms around her. "Ok, you two. Go finish homework, please. I gotta talk to dad ok?" she says making me smile.
"You wanna talk? About what baby? Did you finally find a dress?" I asked excitedly.
I mean, come on... I've waited this long to see this woman in a white dress walking down an aisle. I'm eager to see her in that dress.
"Ah, no," she says chuckling.
She kisses my lips and runs her fingers through my hair.
"I have a little surprise for you though," she says biting her lips. God those words, last time she said that I found her in a tiny little red two-piece with roses all over the room and candles everywhere. She drives me insane.
I can't wait to see the surprise.
While Nate and Kenzie did homework in the family room, she took me by the hand and sat me on a kitchen stool.
She handed me a small golden box with a big ribbon on it. I tilted my head to a side, squinting my eyes. I looked at Nate and Kenzie, who look oddly suspicious as they tried to contain their big smiles.
"What is this?" I asked shaking it a little. There was definitely something inside as I shook it lightly next to my ear.
"Open it, silly," she says placing her right elbow on the kitchen island top and crossing her foot over the other.
I untied the ribbon, and I don't know why... But I became antsy.
I looked at her one more time. She was tense, I could tell. She fiddled with her fingers, something she did every time she was nervous, which made me nervous as well.
I opened the top softly, there were a few cookies inside, all in the shapes of baby clothes. I grabbed one, looking at it in awe.
It was a pink onesie, and then there was another one inside in the same shape but in blue. I was confused for a bit until I saw a piece of paper folded inside.
My heart began to thump real fast. My hands became shaky, and I felt a big knot in my throat build up.
I unfolded the paper, and read it in my head. The first thing that pops out are huge letters written in red. I can tell it's Sophie's writing, "Is there Room for one more?" I look at her confused. It's lab result. Then it hits me. My nerves are going haywire. I gulp down hard before I continue reading.
"Reasons for today's visit, Nausea and pelvic cramping." I read as I see a lab test copy from our nearby clinic.
"Results," I read, but then cover my mouth and began to cry like a fucking kid as the emotions get the best of me and I can't read the rest.
I can't help but feel overwhelmed. Sophie hugs me, and I wrap my hands around her tightly. "Baby... You're...you're pregnant. I'm going to be a dad? Really?" I babble away. Still crying, still overwhelmed.
I kiss her, pull her up and spin her around. Nate and Kenzie join in, hugging us.
"Do you know what we're having? Are you ok? What did the doctor say?" she chuckles, kissing my lips and wiping my tears.
I wipe her tears as well and cup her face, kissing her lips. "It's too early to tell. I'm only three weeks along, but I'll be going in in another two weeks."
"Mom, can we have a boy though. I already have a sister. McKenzie remember? So can you give me a brother? Please?" Nate adds making us chuckle.
"Hey, what about Jordan? He's your buddy remember?" I say making him chuckle.
"Whatever God decides to send us, we will all live him or her, baby. And I am sure, that you will be an amazing brother, you know why?" Sophie says as she wraps him up in a best hug.
"Because you are already the best son in the world. I love you, baby," she says kissing his cheek.
I guess the only thing to do now... Is start shopping for new paint and baby essentials. Boy... Do I have my hands full now.
