I ran upstairs and I knew James was following me. I drew my sword and made the vampires trying to block my way fly to the sides. Why didn’t I train properly?
James also assisted me as he exhibited his great swordsmanship skills against the nooby vampires
We finally reached the last room in the highest tower I know that could be keeping Leo and Jane watching and waiting.
I started running faster and heard not even a complaint from James. He knows me awfully well.
I stopped running and tightened my grip on Dark Blade. I held the knob and looked at James. “Whatever happens... say thank you to everyone for me.” I whispered.
“There is no need, Queen Selene. We are happy to be of great help.” And he smiled.
“Ready?” I nodded and we opened the old creaking door.
“LEO!” I screamed seeing my husband all tied up and bruises and blood marks on him. He was unconscious on the stone floor but I could sense he was still alive—Well, dead of course. Alive as a vampire to be exact. James helped me remove the tight ropes on his hands and ankles. There was even a steel chain around his body.
“Oh my goodness... Leo... What has she done to you?!” Tears started to swell in my eyes and I felt a cold chill to my spine.
“Stay with him, James," I whispered and he nodded, still removing the chain on Leo. I stood up and turned around and saw the same vampiric eyes glare in me.
“Well look who’s here...” Her heels echoed in the room.
“You witch...” I hissed.
“How rude... Selene...”
“Oh? Am I? After what you’ve done to my father? After what you have done before? After you killed my Father and Mother?!” I screamed, exceeding my glare from hers. I know my eyes have gotten colder and redder than before.
“Are you finished?” Jane smiled wickedly pulling a sword under her gown.
“Don’t let pain get into you, Selene...” Dark Blade said in a telepathic manner.
I exhaled then prepared my sword. I need to concentrate. She IS not an ordinary vampire.
I positioned myself and got ready.
“Tell me, Jane von Klein, did you really love my father?”
“The past is written in the past, Selene. Whatever you want to understand is out of my pockets.”
“YOU! You were the reason I became Selene. My blood… came from you, didn’t it? Thana was definitely the next Vampire Queen but you... You seduced my father, didn’t you?”
Jane suddenly leapt and played her sword at me as I dodged it with Dark Blade.
“Tell me the truth!” I retorted, making her stop and flinch. I pointed my sword at her. “Tell me... are you my blood mother?!”
“Nonsense. Where’s your evidence?” She smirked again.
I held my belly. “My child is the evidence. I just figured it out myself when I entered the palace. The power you have… it’s definitely not an ordinary vampire’s possession. You plan to repeat the same crap!”
I was petrified for a second and she had swiftly slid behind me placing the sword inches away from my throat.
“So what if you discovered... a little of me?” You don’t... know anything,” she whispered extremely close to my ear.
‘Use me, Selene…’ Dark Blade whispered yet again and I know this will be my one in a million opportunities which can be gone.
“Then I will look for the answers in you myself!” I told Jane seriously.
“What?”
I let go of Dark Blade and he formed into a sphere surrounding me and Jane creating a wall of wind. Jane flinched, letting go of me and looking at the sides.
It was my turn. I grabbed her arm and our eyes connected.
Thereafter... I started to see the past that will explain everything I need to know.
