Leo covered my eyes with the scarf he had prepared in the car and made me sit in the shotgun seat.
“Should we really use a car when we can simply jump and run?” I asked, getting a little excited and nervous.
“Chill, babe. You don’t want humans to discover a vampire queen wandering freely in the buildings.” I am pretty sure he was smiling while he started the engine and started driving.
“So we’re going to the human lands? But blindfolding me is weird itself, Leo...” I pouted.
“Don’t worry. I won’t put you in trouble.” I felt his hand grip mine giving me the assurance that I will be safe. I held his hand back and relaxed my stiff shoulders. I may not be able to see anything but I am extremely happy just to be with the love of my life and death. There is only one thing going in my mind.
Just a little more time remaining...
I still have regrets about not being able to do everything in my life.
Mostly involving my family.
I didn’t even get to be queen for a year to say! Not to mention even an anniversary of marriage.
“We’re here.” I think it was more than twenty minutes when we finally reached the destination. He let go of my hand and I heard the doors close on his side but mine opened up in the next second. Leo assisted me by getting out of the car and we started walking. the place smelled familiar.
Leo slowly removed the blinds and I was stunned to see where we were. Memories from the past flashed before my eyes.

I just woke up from getting anamic I think. I need to eat.
I stood up looking for Leo and I didn’t fail. He was doing his last shoot after the drama with the other co-stars. He stood more among the staff aside from the fact that he was the lead actor in a white tuxedo and pants.
“Hi. You’re Leo’s P.A., right?” I turned to my right and the leading lady Seth stood tall beside me with her three inch shoes which she is having a hard time walking on.
“Yes. Can I help you?” I followed her eyes which looked at me from head to toe.
“It really makes a person wonder why a billionaire actor like him would just hire someone dressed horribly old-fashioned. How much did he promise to pay you? I’ll cover it all, just leave his side.”
I giggled on purpose. “You’re so funny Seth.” I place my hand on my waist and raise my brow at her though it wasn’t my thing. “You know what? You’re pretty, famous, loved, rich but... honestly rotten.”
“What did you just say?!”
“I believe you heard me clearly, Seth. You don’t know me nor Leo personally that you can simply make simple-minded and stupid assumptions and requests... Please excuse me.” I walked away leaving her glaring at me.
“Had a fight, Selene?” Leo smirked approaching me after the shoot.
“Shut up, Leo. I’ll just eat.” Leo suddenly grabs my arms pulling me close in the middle of the crowd.
“Excuse me, cameraman!” He waved to the guy who did their photoshoot.
“Yes, Leo?”
“Can you take my picture with her?” My eyes widened.
“Are you serious? No way am I doing that Leo. Let go.” I glared at him.
“You can’t eat unless you listen.”
I sighed, answering, “Fine” since I never win against his reasoning and orders. He IS still my master. “Just one.”
“No. Get into the dressing room and wear the dress I got for you.”
“You got me what?” I raise my brow at him. “You know I don’t wear dresses.”
“I got it while you were sleeping soundly. Do it and I’ll reduce teasing you. Promise!” He raises his arm making the promise posture. Do I believe him or is he lying?
“Vampires are so cunning," I whispered close to him then walked away towards the dressing room locking the door. I saw the dress which made me uncomfortable. It wasn’t just a simple casual dress but...
It was a wedding dress for heaven’s sake...
A wedding dress!
“Dress quickly, Miss Assistant! We don’t have all day for Leo’s request.” I heard the cameraman speak from outside the room.
“Just a second!” I replied scratching my bunned head.
Oh geez! Whatever!
I took all my clothes off and tucked myself into the dress hanging perfectly on my waist. I removed the scarf and replaced it with a ribbon and saw the shoes and got on to them. Two inches? Leo is so dead later!
I look at the girl in the mirror and I feel and look absolutely different like I don’t know myself. The dress glittered wondrously with all the satin layers and sequence. It was also a tube which made me have a weirder feeling.
I open the door grabbing all my courage and walk to Leo who was staring at me with a smile.
A smile that you wouldn’t expect a vampire to do even as your master. His smile was heart melting.
I could also feel cold stares and stabs from the crowd... “You are doing this on purpose aren’t you?” I knocked his right shoulder. His hands swiftly grab on my arm pulling me close making my heart beat faster.
“All that’s left is...” He grinned as I stood up straight. His hands travel behind me removing my hair in the tight bun making it sway smoothly to my waist.
“Leo!” I frantically screamed not caring what other people would think.
“Shh... It’s nearly time to show everyone that you’re not just my P.A. Selene.” He whispered close to my ear.
“What?!” His hands traveled fast on my cheeks sending me the frozen chills as he removed my glasses placing inside his shirt pocket. “What the hell are you doing? Give my glasses back!” I tried grabbing back and he kept chuckling goofing around.
“Are they dating?” I stopped when I heard one of the extras glare at us fiercely.
“NO!” Seth replied, looking straight at me. “She’s JUST his assistant" and smirked at me. I clenched my hand.
“Shh...” I turn to Leo who keeps shh-ing. Leo’s hands traced my face. “We’re ready!” He smiled at the cameraman who positioned before us.
“Why... are you doing this?” I whispered close to him as he continued tracing my face.
“You look stunning.” A blush exploded in my face as he crept his hands on my body and the camera started to shoot continuously.
“Closer please and smile!”
“You heard him!” Leo tucked his hand tightly on my waist as he stood tall behind me. I leaned my back on him and felt his breath on my neck.
I believe Leo remains clueless of what I know.
I raise my hand circling around his closed eyes only hearing the sound of the clicking camera.

“A good and bad memory.” I giggled, linking my hands on his arms. The place was silent with only some humans passing by. He suddenly pulled something from his pockets and placed it on my face swiftly. I took a step back when my sight dilated as I removed it. My eyes widened seeing what was on my hand.
“I can’t believe you never returned them back.” It was my large framed glasses.
“You didn’t have blurry eyesight so I thought there’s no point in wearing one nor returning them... except for today.” I folded them back and slipped it into his hands.
“Take it.” Then I gave him a peck on the lips. Leo smiles at me sweetly displaying his white teeth. “It’s been long since everything changed and everything’s going to change soon enough.”
“And everyone still thinks I’m on my honeymoon.” This time, Leo gives me a peck as we walk towards the fountain. I could clearly remember the sweet announcement and proposal Leo did on national TV. It was embarrassing but I’m very proud and happy even just remembering it.

We really had a lot of ups and downs before reaching this magical stage in our existence. Getting jealous of both parties... Getting hurt and surprised... Accepting resolves...
They all had special reasons for us.
Although it is a pity what would actually become of our future. I only know that I am a sacrifice to make sure the world does not crumble in the future when my daughter sits on the throne.
I suddenly grip Leo’s arm and my other hand squeezes my chest.
“Selene?”
“Le—o...” I fell on my knees and he held me.
“You alright? I’ll take you to the hospital!” He panicked but I shook my head at once panting quite hard.
“It’s almost time, Leo... I want to let you know I am the happiest human vampire to have ever fallen for the same person in both states. It’s sad that I can’t watch our daughter grow up... and even celebrate our anniversary next year.” I chuckled.
“Then don’t leave us! Don’t leave me, Selene.”
“I’m sorry, babe... But I’d rather sacrifice myself for our daughter and the whole race than get themselves killed in the future.”
“Why do you always leave me alone? Why do you love making people sad?”
“I guess it’s in the blood?” I chuckled a little again feeling a blood rush from inside. I looked at my chest and the magic circle I performed the spell on appeared on my skin. I turned to Leo and he had tears in his eyes.
“God, no... Please no... Don’t leave me...” Water swells in my eyes seeing how hurt Leo is but there was no option. I am the only one capable of doing the spell being the one carrying the blood of Selene and the thirds-of-blood.
“Take care of Ady, alright?” I held his face in both palms.
“I would, but still...”
“Just promise me you’ll protect our child no matter what happens. Even if you fall for another person or vampire.”
“I won’t. I’ll wait for you to wake up. I promise you!”
I smiled bitterly and kissed him hard as it is the last thing I can do. Our tears were also mixing together with the pain of leaving. The trees also swayed and rustled as if feeling the agony we were going through.
I know I will wake up one day in the future but nobody knows... Not even me nor Thana who was supposedly able to foresee the future.
We broke the kiss as I felt my energy drained as my eyes started to shut down. Our foreheads rested against each other as our hands were intertwined.
“I love you... Leo... Always and forever... For all eternity....”
“I love you, too, Selene. And no matter how long you sleep... I’ll wait for you to wake up. But don’t take too long. Because I will miss you beside me all the time.”
“I promise. Please smile, Leo...”
“I love you so much.” He smiled painfully.
“I love you more than you know.”
I rested my head on his shoulder as his tears fell on my neckline.
“See you soon, Leo... Tell Ady and everyone I love you all...”
“See you soon, Selene.”
I tilted my face and saw him smiling handsomely and memories with him flooded again in a split second as I closed my eyes with the feeling of his hand on my back and right cheek.
The last thing I would remember was him promising a future with me no matter how long it would take.
A future that should be worth it of my sacrifices.
Everything will have an answer...
Someday, for sure....
We won’t waste our tears for losses but for happiness instead.
I smiled and then the last thing I will remember was, “Sweet dreams, my love.”
