Chapter Twenty-Seven - You better have a good reason
Chloe
I stomp around the apartment, huffing as I get ready. It is six o’clock on a damn Sunday morning. I shouldn’t be awake! Blake is sitting in the kitchen, laughing at me as he casually sips his coffee. He is bright and ready.
“You better have a good reason for wakening me up at this time, or we are going to have an issue, mister,” I groan and glare at him.
Blake smiles sweetly at me, “I promise it will be worth it, angel. You need to trust me.”
I flip him off, “Yeah, yeah.”
What needs to get at this time in the morning? Whatever he has planned couldn’t wait too later, no? I am even more annoyed because he won’t tell me what we are doing or where we are going. I seem to be keeping him amused, though.
“What am I supposed to wear if I don’t know where I am going?” I ask.
“Something comfy and casual for now.” he smiles.
I rolled my eyes at his answer because I hoped it would make him tell me more.
“Just so you know, I hate you right now,” I whine, crossing my arms over my chest.
I like my Sunday lie-ins with Blake after a long week at work.
“No, you don’t, sweetheart.” He smirks.
I stick my tongue out at him and finally find something to wear. I pull on a pair of leggings, one of Blake’s tees and a hoodie.
“I can go like this?” I ask and point to myself.
“Yes, you can.” He replies brightly.
Now I am even more confused on where he is taking me if I can go dressed like this. I guess I need to wait and find out, won’t I?
“Now, come and have a coffee, beautiful, before we leave.” He says softly and motions me to him.
I nod and stroll to the kitchen. The second I am within arm’s length, he reaches for me and pulls me between his legs, resting his hands on my hips. I glance down at him.
“I still hate you,” I giggle.
Blake reaches up and bops my nose, “You really don’t.”
I am ready to disagree, but he leans up and presses his lips to mine. I moan softly, all other thoughts disappearing. He smiles into the kiss, and I find myself doing the same.
When we part, “I promise it will be worth it, Chloe.”
He strokes the stray hair away from my eyes. I smile and nod. I believed him. I will be less cranky once I have a coffee and have woken up, probably.
Blake turns away from me, only long to pour me a coffee. He faces me again, handing me a mug. I thank him and take a sip. Yes, this is so good. I take the seat next to him, and he places his hand on my knee, squeezing it. I can’t stay mad at him for long. If he says it will be worth it, then it will be.
“Do I need to bring anything with me?”
“No, I have everything we need in the car already.” He smiles and kisses my cheek.
He does? How did he manage that without me seeing?
“What time did you get up this morning?”
“I have been up since half past four.” He chuckles.
“What is wrong with you? What psycho chooses to get up at that time?” I laugh.
“Me! I had a lot to do before I woke you.”
The man is crazy. I shake my head, “Crazy man.”
Blake flashes his dorkiest smile at me before returning to his coffee. I do the same because I assume we need to leave soon.

I stand in complete shock in the middle of a private jet.
“Y-y-you have a private jet?” I finally stammer out.
I have been too shocked to speak since we pulled into the private airstrip.
“Yes. I bought it from a friend at a good price a couple of years ago. It is handy if I need to travel for work or want to get away.” He smiles.
The thing is incredible. It is huge. It has a built-in kitchen, a bar, six leather seats, two sofas and a bed. There is also a tv and speakers—a bathroom with a shower.
“Oh My God.”
Yes, I knew he was rich, but I didn’t realise he was rich enough to own a damn private jet. He has never mentioned it.
“We should settle down; we will be taking off soon. Once we are in the air, you can take a nap if you want.” He smiles.
“Where are we going?”
“Oh, I can’t tell you. It needs to be a surprise.” He winks.
“Blake!” I protest.
“Angel, it doesn’t matter what you do or say; you won’t find out until we arrive. I will tell you we have a long flight ahead of us; it is why I wanted to leave early.” He replies.
I nod, still trying to take everything in. It will take some time. I didn’t think I would ever be travelling at all, never mind on a private jet! It is unbelievable!
Blake told me to take a seat and buckle up while he disappeared to speak to the pilot. I do as I am told. Blake comes back to join me five minutes later, doing the same, and before I know it, we are taking off.
I become nervous because I have never flown before. I reach for his hand, squeezing it hard. I close my eyes and steady my breathing as we take off.
“Once we are in the air, you will forget where we are, promise.” He encourages.
I can only nod because I am too nervous to speak. I am a little scared, but I know I will be fine.
“I got you, my love.” He coos and kisses my cheek.
I slowly start to calm down once we are in the sky and the jet is moving more smoothly. I wish I knew where we were going.
“Can you give me a hint of where we are going and for how long?”
“Nope. And we will be back by Tuesday night. Don’t worry; I have gotten us covered at work. I want you to relax and enjoy the next couple of days.” He insists.
“You are incredible, Blake. Thank you.” I smile.
He spoils me so much, and I am still trying to get used to it. I don’t know if I will ever get used to it, but I appreciate everything he has done and does for me. He is a good man, and I still don’t know what I did to deserve him.
