Never Just Friends

The First Blow

Ch. 225 / 300 Mar 01, 2026

Hanna and Emily sat together in the quiet of Hanna’s room, the tension between them palpable as they stared at the screen. The screenshot of Ciara’s messages threatening Talia was open on Hanna’s laptop, ready to post. It felt like a loaded weapon—one they were about to fire straight at Ciara’s carefully constructed façade.

“Are you sure about this?” Emily asked, her voice hesitant.

“We have to start somewhere,” Hanna said firmly. Her fingers hovered over the trackpad. “This is the least damaging piece of evidence we have. It’s enough to get people talking without giving away everything.”

Emily nodded slowly. “Alright. Let’s do it.”

Taking a deep breath, Hanna clicked “post.” The message was live, sent anonymously to the student forum with a simple caption: “The truth about Ciara starts here.”

The reaction was immediate. Within minutes, the post had dozens of views and comments. Hanna and Emily watched in real-time as the school’s social sphere began to unravel.

“Is this real?” one comment read.

“Typical Ciara,” another wrote.

“I knew she was shady, but this? Wow,” someone else added.

The flood of responses was overwhelming, but one theme became clear: people were starting to question Ciara’s motives.

Emily leaned back in her chair, letting out a long breath. “It’s working,” she said, a mixture of relief and disbelief in her voice.

Hanna’s chest tightened. “It’s just the beginning,” she said. “We’ve barely scratched the surface.”

A notification buzzed on her phone. It was a message from Elordi.

Elordi: Saw the post. Nicely done. But don’t get cocky. She’s still dangerous.

Hanna rolled her eyes, typing back a quick response.

Hanna: I know. This isn’t over.

Elordi: Good. Stay sharp, sweetheart.

Setting her phone down, Hanna turned back to Emily. “We need to be ready for her counterattack. She’s not going to take this lying down.”

Emily nodded, her expression serious. “We stick to the plan. One piece of evidence at a time. We control the narrative.”

The rest of the day was a whirlwind. By lunchtime, the entire school was buzzing with talk of the post. Ciara’s name was on everyone’s lips, but for the first time, it wasn’t in admiration or fear—it was in anger and disbelief.

Hanna passed a group of students in the hallway and caught snippets of their conversation.

“Can you believe she said that to Talia?”

“I always knew she was fake.”

“If this is true, what else has she done?”

The shift was palpable, and it gave Hanna a surge of hope.

That afternoon, Elordi found her in the library, his smirk as infuriating as ever. “Congratulations,” he said, sliding into the seat across from her. “You’ve officially drawn first blood.”

Hanna glared at him. “This isn’t about blood. It’s about justice.”

Elordi chuckled, leaning back in his chair. “Call it whatever you want. Just don’t let it go to your head. She’s still dangerous, and she’s not going down without a fight.”

Hanna clenched her fists, her resolve hardening. “I’m not stopping until she’s gone.”

Elordi’s smirk faded, replaced by a rare moment of sincerity. “Good. Just make sure you don’t lose yourself in the process.”

As he walked away, Hanna turned back to her laptop, scrolling through the flood of comments on the forum. The tide was finally turning, but she knew Elordi was right.

This was only the first blow. The real battle was still ahead.
