Finn’s Doubts

Ch. 252 / 300 Mar 01, 2026

The evening air was cool, the sky turning dark as the tension between Hanna and Finn simmered. They stood in her driveway, the hum of the streetlights the only sound breaking the silence between them.

Finn’s gaze was intense, his jaw tight with frustration. “This is getting out of control,” he said, his voice tinged with worry. “Every time we push back, they hit harder. How much more can we take?”

Hanna let out a deep breath, feeling the weight of his words. She wanted to reassure him, to tell him that everything would be okay, but the truth was that she didn’t know anymore. “I know,” she said, her shoulders slumping. “But we can’t stop now. If we do, they’ll win.”

Finn’s expression softened as he stepped closer, the space between them closing. His hand brushed against hers, and for a moment, Hanna felt the warmth of his touch, the comfort that had been a constant in her life even through the chaos.

“I just don’t want to lose you, Hanna,” Finn said quietly, his eyes searching hers. “I don’t want to lose you to them or… to all of this. It’s like we’re constantly running, always looking over our shoulders. I don’t know how much more I can take.”

Hanna felt a sharp pang in her chest. She reached for his hand, squeezing it gently. “You won’t lose me,” she said softly, her voice trembling slightly. “I promise.”

But even as she said the words, she felt the weight of them hang in the air. Her mind raced with doubts, whispers of uncertainty creeping into her thoughts. Could she really keep that promise? Could she continue to fight this battle without losing herself—or him—in the process?

Finn looked at her for a long moment, his gaze filled with a mixture of love and concern. “I just need to know you’re really here, Hanna. That you’re not slipping away from me, even if everything around us is falling apart.”

Hanna swallowed, the weight of the world pressing down on her. She had to be strong—for Finn, for herself, and for everyone who had been hurt by Ciara’s manipulation. But in that moment, she couldn’t shake the nagging fear that the cost of everything she was fighting for might be higher than she was willing to pay.

“I’m here,” she said, her voice barely a whisper. “But I’m not sure how much longer I can keep going like this.”

Finn stepped closer, pulling her into a tight embrace. “We’ll figure it out. Together.”

Hanna leaned into him, letting herself believe the words. But deep down, the doubt still lingered. As they stood there, wrapped in each other’s arms, Hanna knew that whatever came next would change everything. And she wasn’t sure if either of them was ready for what was to come.
