We were sitting in the guest hall, glaring at each other's with cold eyes, only Twinkle kept chatting with Mom and Dad. I didn't know why my parents invited Arav and Twinkle too, I mean I don't have any problem with Twinkle as she is my sister, but Arav, I would feel so much uncomfortable in his presence, I was also curious whether he knew the reason of today's dinner or not.
After checking his wristwatch, he finally spoke, “ Uncle, why are we still waiting, it's already 9' o clock, is there someone invited? ”
My father glanced at Twinkle while she bit her lips and laughed apologetically, saying “ Oops, my little memory, I forgot to tell you that this dinner party is for Karan Arora, Dad is thinking to set up sister's marriage with him ”
I chuckled as he was indeed not aware of it, I looked at him with the corner of my eyes, and found his expression to be darkened, his hand clenched the glass in his palm, I too frowned, however, managed to stay calm, but I was too much afraid of his cold face meanwhile the doorbell rang.
Everyone got excited while Mom and Dad rushed to open the doors whereas my gaze was fixed on the man sitting in front of me, giving me a haunted gaze, making me shiver. Soon, my parents came back with a tall man, having blond hair, and a pair of brown eyes, dressed in a blue suit, looking very graceful that you just can't ignore his charm.
My parents pointed me to introduce myself to him, I nodded and politely told him to sit, he sat on the seat with a gentle smile then said, “ You must be Dimple who my father was talking about ”
I smiled while putting my hair behind my ear, he smiled back while saying “ You look more beautiful like this ”
I couldn't help blushing, he was a really sweet talker. I then said, “ It means the rumors are true that Karan Arora has the honey in his mouth ”.
“ Haha.. Even you listened to it ”
And then we laughed except for the cold-hearted person.
“ So, you are the heir of Star builders, the company that has been accused of illegal dealing of something, whose contractors are living on bail, and there was also some protest by local people against this group, right? ” said Arav while smiling sarcastically, whereas my parents chuckled, they looked anxious to his sudden accusation as it might offend Karan, however, he curled up his lips and said, “ When you are on top, people spread rumors against you to pull you down, it's a natural thing, and I guess you would have much experience in this, right Mr. Arav Singhania, the new CEO of Singhania's groups? ”
“ Haha, you are right Karan, it's normal in our business, people spread rumors to destroy their rivals, you are new Arav, that's why you don't understand,” said my father to ease the atmosphere, while he smiled sarcastically. However, he didn't stop yet, and said, “ You lived in America, and I heard that a girl had claimed against you that you left her after impregnating her, I was shocked to hear this news because, to my knowledge, M.r Deepak Arora is the most respected and responsible member of our society, I wondered how could his son be so irresponsible ”
I clenched my fists after listening to him, how could he even talk about responsibility and respect when he is the worst in this, my parents also chucked, while Twinkle held Arav's hand, indicating him to shut his mouth, but he was too arrogant. I glanced at Karan's face, even though he was trying hard to restrain himself, but it was clear that he got affected by Arav's accusations on him, and was now angry.
“ I wonder why people only read half news, and accuse people before knowing the whole truth, after the proper investigation, they find that the girl was guilty, she had already done these type of tricks to many rich people, only to get some big amount of money from them,” he said, comparatively calm voice but a cold expression.
“ However, I too have heard many rumors about you, it would be so difficult to marry one woman and be stick to her as a playboy, right Mr. Singhania? ” Karan added sarcastically while Arav sneered,
“ You don't know me too...”
Twinkle laughed awkwardly to interrupt Arav and said, “ Karan, please don't mind him, he is just being protective to my sister, after all, she is his sister-in-law, and he wants to be sure of her future husband, you can understand this ”
“ Yes, Arav treats her like his own sister, please don't mind his rude behavior, he is just being a big brother to her ” my mom added.
Big brother? My foot.
“ Don't worry Mrs. Khanna, I didn't mind him ” said Karan while smiling gently. However, Arav stood up from his seat, saying “ I'm getting late, please don't mind me and continue your dinner, I have to leave ”
“ But, you haven't eaten yet.!! ” Twinkle said with worried eyes.
“ I'll eat later, I need to attend a meeting now, I'll come to pick you,” he said and left,
Why do I suddenly felt heartache? He must be mad after listening to my sister and mom's sentence, even I couldn't digest it, especially after having an intimate relationship with him, but I couldn't correct them too,
‘ Oh, Dimple, don't let yourself be tamed by him again, just stick to your words and accept this man wholeheartedly and if he says 'yes' to you, then you promise that you will not let Arav fucking you again, you will have to be pure and loyal to your man, understand ’ I said to myself while we all walked up to the dining hall.
Karan pulled a chair and offered me to sit while smiling, and then he himself sat on the chair beside me. During the dinner, my father said, “ Look Karan, you know the reason for this dinner very well, your father and I have decided to fix your marriage with my daughter, only if you agree, and we all are an open-minded person, if you two want to spend some private time before deciding, then we will not deny it ”
He smiled and glanced at me, then looked up at my father, “ Uncle, do you believe in love at first sight? ”
“ Ah.. ”
My father was clueless, while he smiled charmingly and said, “ Forget it, I mean I'm ready for this marriage. ”
“ Really? ”
“ So soon? ”
“ Wow.. Congratulations ”
My father, mother, and Twinkle said in unison while I looked up at him with stunned eyes, how could he be too quick to accept me.
“ But, only on one condition ”, he added while my parents glanced at each other.
“ If Dimple will say she likes me too and isn't marrying me only because you elders have told her to,” he said while looking at me gently.
I must say, he was the only person who cared about my feelings, for a second, I was too emotional, on another second, I heard my father
“ Of course, she likes you, we didn't force this marriage to her, right Dimple? ”
“ Haha, Uncle, we just met tonight, how can you say that she likes me? ” said Karan while laughing, my father bit his lips while he said, gently looking at me “ I'm not in hurry, Dimple, take your time, but I bet, you will soon fall in love with me once you spend time with me ”
He winked while my sister pouted, “ Ohh, so romantic, I wonder why don't my husband talks like you ”
“ Silly girl, it's because you chose the wrong husband,” he said that made all of us laughing. Twinkle then said excitedly, “ Hey Karan, why don't we arrange a double date, by this way, you and sis will get some quality time together, and I'll let my husband learn something from you ”
“ Great Idea, but please tell your husband to not come with his cold and rude expression, I really feel headache whenever I see such a cold and boring personality, I mean why can't a person be happy and charming, just like me, see, how am I looking, he said while showing his teeth, looking cute and funny at the same time.
“ You are looking cute ” my sister complimented while I laughed at him, he then stopped smiling and looked at me with a serious expression, “ You look more beautiful while smiling, just keep smiling like this
