Mated by Mistake

Betrayal

Ch. 32 / 77 Apr 22, 2025

Chris sat slumped in his chair, his office dimly lit by a single flickering lamp. He had just finished his third bottle of scotch and, in a fit of anger, threw it into the corner. The shattering sound echoed through the room, a harsh contrast to the heavy silence that had settled over him.

"Rosalie," he muttered, his voice thick with emotion. His wolf called out for her, but she was gone. Gone with that stupid Alex.

The noise of the breaking bottle attracted the attention of his betas. Scott, the first to hear it, rushed in, his face etched with concern.

"Alpha, are you okay?" Scott asked, his eyes scanning the room and then settling on Chris's desolate figure.

Chris glared at him with blazing eyes, his anger erupting like a volcano. "Am I okay? Do I look okay to you, Scott?" He snarled, standing up so abruptly that his chair toppled over.

The betas exchanged uneasy glances, unsure of how to proceed in the face of their alpha's wrath.

"I just came to check on you due to the noise."

"Noise?" Chris cut him off, his voice rising. "You think this is about noise? You betrayed me!"

Scott’s eyes widened in shock. "My loyalty has always been towards you and the pack. You know that."

Chris's scream reverberated through the room, raw and powerful. "Then why did you let your daughter go with Alex?"

Scott took a deep breath, trying to keep his composure. "It was the council’s decision. And she had chosen her mate. How could I stop her ?"

Chris's face twisted with fury and despair. He grabbed the edge of his desk, knuckles white. "The council's decision," he repeated mockingly. "Was this your plan ? You asked her to seduce the first alpha she could find."

Scott's jaw clenched as he struggled to find the right words.

"I had no part in that," he insisted, his voice strained. "And I don't talk about my daughter like that."

"So now you will defy me ?" Chris's eyes blazed with anger as he stared down at Scott.

Scott bristled under his gaze, expecting the worst, but then Chris straightened, a new determination in his eyes. "You're demoted, Scott."

Scott blinked, taken aback. "What?"

"You heard me," Chris said, his voice cold and final. "You’re demoted to an omega. You’ll be living with them from now on."

Scott stared at him in disbelief but bowed quietly . " As you say, Alpha."

"Get out!" Chris roared, pointing towards the door. "You’ve failed me. Now get out of my sight."

Scott stood there for a moment, as if he had something more to say. But he didn't. He just nodded and walked away. After a soft click, the door shut behind him, leaving Chris back in his office by himself.

He sat back down in his chair, and the quiet grew around him. He no longer felt angry like he did before. Instead, he felt a deep, painful sadness. He closed his eyes because he was thinking about Rosalie and how painful it was that she wasn't there with him. The opening of the door distracted him again. He looked up, and a pretty, young omega stood in the doorway.

"My Alpha, I have been sent to clean up the office for you," she said softly.

Chris nodded, eyeing her. Red hair ! It wasn't the same shade as Rosalie's, but it still reminded him of her. He got up from his chair and walked towards the bar.

"What is your name?" he inquired casually as he poured himself a glass of wine.

"Aria, my Alpha," said the maid, and he saw her fingers fidgeting nervously before she clasped them behind her back.

"Aria." He took up the glass, his manner quite nonchalant. "I desire your company tonight."

She flushed deeply. "Alpha, what do you mean?"

He cast his gaze over her, and she quieted.

As he took a sip from his glass, he allowed himself the leisure of an appraisal, not bothering to hide how his attention lingered on the generous curves of her body. Without breaking eye contact, he simply replied, "I mean exactly what you think I mean, Aria."

She wavered as he drew near, but, of course, she did not dare move away from him.

"Are you going to cooperate ? Or do I have to make you?" His voice was low.

Aria knew she had no choice but to comply with his wishes. Her breaths remained uneven as he unzipped her dress, and more uneven yet as he tugged the dress down and exposed her bare skin. Fear and excitement warred in her eyes—but above all, uncertainty.

Not that she was left uncertain for long; she shivered as he lowered his lips to her skin, clutching at him as he pressed her to the large couch. When he impaled her with his length, she shuddered prettily over his sheets and attended to his instructions with wide-eyed obedience.

She reminded him of Rosalie, and he found himself becoming more and more captivated by her with each passing moment. The memory of Rosalie only fueled his desire for the woman beneath him. Yes, this was way better than that bitch, Grace. As he continued to explore her body, he couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction at the thought of Grace's jealousy.

Grace had not seen Chris since that night. Her bruises had healed, but her heart was still broken. How could he do that to her ? Thinking that maybe another round of talk would be beneficial, Grace decided to reach out to Chris and confront him about his actions. She needed closure and answers to move on from the pain he had caused her. She reached his office door and stopped suddenly. Sounds of moaning and thumping could be heard from inside. Realisation dawned quickly enough, and she felt a surge of anger and betrayal wash over her. Without hesitation, Grace pushed open the door to find a naked woman bent over his desk, while Chris fucked her from behind. Their bodies were slick with sweat as Chris thrust into her. The woman turned and shrieked. Chris followed her gaze, focusing on Grace. With zero remorse, he increased the pace of thrusting, and the woman moaned louder.

Grace stood frozen in shock, unable to comprehend the scene before her.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ?" Grace screamed.

Chris smirked, clearly enjoying the shock on Grace's face.

He nonchalantly replied, "What do you think I am doing ? Get out, Grace. Or you can stay and watch," Chris said, his tone dripping with arrogance.

Grace's heart sank as she realised the extent of his betrayal. She turned on her heel and walked away. Involuntary tears streamed down her face as she struggled to process the betrayal of someone she once trusted with all her heart. The sound of Chris's laughter echoed in her ears, haunting her every step.
