Gregory couldn't help but smile as he leant against an old oak tree, his mind racing with the potential of his newfound knowledge. He had come upon a jackpot that could change his life, and the thrill of it coursed through his veins like wildfire. Grace, that uptight bitch, was fucking Martin, that lowly omega. The power he now possessed over Grace and Martin was exhilarating.
Thomas raised an eyebrow when he saw his fellow beta smug. "What's with the grin, Gregory? You look like the cat that got the cream."
Gregory shook his head, his smile widening. "Oh, nothing you'd understand, Thomas. Let's just say I've stumbled upon something quite interesting."
Thomas frowned, sensing there was more to the story. "Come on, man. You can't just leave me hanging like that. What's got you so pleased with yourself?"
Gregory's eyes glinted with mischief as he resisted the urge to reveal his secret. "Patience, my friend. All in good time."

The next night, Grace made her way to the hillock, where she usually met Martin. The path was familiar, and the anticipation of seeing him again made her heart race. But as she approached the clearing, she froze. Instead of Martin, she found Gregory waiting for her, a smug smile playing on his lips.
"Gregory? What are you doing here?" Grace's voice wavered with a mix of confusion and apprehension.
Gregory pushed off from the tree and stepped towards her, his smile never faltering. "Good evening, Grace. Fancy seeing you here."
Grace's eyes darted around the clearing, hoping to see Martin emerge from the shadows. "I was just taking a walk."
Gregory chuckled.
"Martin couldn't make it tonight; I sent him away for a little while."
Grace's heart sank as she realised she was alone with Gregory.
Gregory said, his tone dripping with satisfaction. "But don't worry, you're not alone."
Grace's stomach churned. She had been so careful to keep her meetings with Martin a secret. How did Gregory find out?
Grace's eyes narrowed. "What are you talking about?"
Gregory stepped closer, lowering his voice. "I've seen you and Martin. I know what's been going on between the two of you."
Grace's heart skipped a beat. Fear and anger twisted inside her. "You don't know anything."
"Don't I?" Gregory's smile widened. "I have eyes, Grace. And I've seen enough to know that if certain people found out about your little affair, it could cause quite a scandal and possible death."
Grace clenched her fists, her mind racing. "What do you want from me, Gregory?"
Gregory's smile faded, replaced by a calculating look. "It's simple, really. I want you to finish what we were doing in the library. In return, I keep my mouth shut."
Grace's mind reeled at the implications. She couldn't let anyone find out about her relationship with Martin. "How dare you !"
She stepped back as Gregory moved further. "You have no right to blackmail me like this," Grace said, her voice trembling with anger. Gregory's smirk widened as he leant in closer, his eyes glinting with malice.
"Oh, but I do. The choice is yours, Grace. You can fuck the lowly omega, but not me."
Grace's heart raced with fear and anger. She pushed Gregory and dashed towards the forest. Gregory raced after her and caught her arm..
"Let me go !" Grace screamed, struggling against his grip.
Suddenly, he pushed her forcefully against a tree. Grace yelled in shock as Gregory pressed his body on her. He looked down at her for a second, his eyes darker than usual, and she could see his canines growing in his mouth. Her pleas were silenced, with his lips clamping down on her. His lips were rough and were nothing like Martin’s. She pushed against him, shoving against his chest and pounding on his arms—it did no good; she was too weak.
Gregory’s tongue pried her mouth open and plunged into her mouth. She felt violated and completely out of control. She was fighting hard, but her strength was just not enough. She cried as Gregory began to claw at her dress, ripping the material to reveal her bra. Gregory moved his lips to her neck as he began to kiss her nape.
Grace wished for the ground to just swallow her. She closed her eyes, and as tears spilt over her cheeks, Gregory managed to rip her dress clean off her. She was left in her underwear.. His arms kept her still against the tree. Grace finally gave up fighting; she knew there was nothing she could do to stop Gregory. She stopped fighting and just cried.
Suddenly, he was ripped away from her. Her eyes shot up, and she let out a sob of relief.
"How dare you touch my mate?" Chris's eyes blazed with fury as he grabbed Gregory by the collar and threw him to the ground.
Chris's entire body was shaking with pure fury.
Gregory was sprawled out on the floor, his face full of surprise. His eyes were wide and shocked as he realised what was coming for him.
"My Alpha, please listen to me." Gregory begged.
"You have no right to speak. You will pay for what you've done." Chris's voice was low and dangerous as he towered over Gregory, his fists clenched tightly.
"Grace lies," Gregory said suddenly as he stood up. "She is having an affair behind your back. I didn't try to rape her!"
Chris picked him up and threw him against the boulder with such force that the wall cracked.
"You will say anything to save yourself, won't you?" Chris's eyes burned with rage as he advanced towards Gregory. "But no amount of lies will save you now." With a swift movement, Chris raised his hand to strike Gregory across the face.
He growled at him. Gregory quickly realised his mistake.
"Just because I have stopped sleeping with her," Chris growled, "that doesn't mean that she is up for grabs. She is still my mate."
"Please, I didn't mean to," Gregory pleaded, his voice trembling with fear. "It's such a waste of such a perfect body," but before he could even finish his words, Chris snapped his neck effortlessly like a twig; Gregory didn't even see it coming. He threw the dead body to the other side, growling.
Thomas, who had followed Chris and seen the entire thing, gasped in shock. He looked at the mad alpha fearfully.
"Let that be a fine example to those who dare to cross their path with me," Chris roared.
"I never intend to, my Alpha," Thomas stammered anxiously.
Grace was facing the opposite direction, hands over her ears, and cried. When she felt hands slip over hers, and remove them from her ears, she screamed.
“Hush, Grace” Chris whispered in her ear, from behind. She turned around; trying not to notice the scarlet blood on his hands.
“He tried to--”. She sobbed, slamming her hand over her mouth to silence the cries.
"Shhh Grace It’s over now; he won’t ever hurt you again. I’m here now. I’m here”. He hugged her close, pressing her into his chest.
Grace buried her face in his shoulder; she had never expected that Chris would save her.
"Come one, let's go home." Chris gently led Grace away from the horrific scene.
Grace was shocked as well as confused by Chris's unexpected heroism. She couldn't believe that the man she had feared and hated for so long was now her saviour.
