I'm Pregnant, Sincerely Your Rejected Mate

Chapter 5

Ch. 5 / 61 Dec 23, 2025

Wesley

I slowly blink, but it doesn’t work. The tiny brunette is still sitting beside me in my car. I’m not hallucinating. This nightmare is real.

Lily is pregnant with my child.

The olive-skinned, brown-eyed pathetic rogue that was abandoned by her pack for being a lazy “herb” smoking weakling will forever be a part of my life. (Yes, I looked up the reason why she was kicked out of her pack.)

I sigh.

How did it come to this?

I wasn’t thinking when I had sex with Lily. My head was too busy listening to my cock, and now I’m here, sitting in my limousine with a fucking rogue. My chauffeur is taking us to my mansion, and I swear it’s hell sharing a seat with this failure of a werewolf. She keeps glancing up at me, looking scared, and that’s the only positive thing about this situation, that I scare her. I hope that will keep her from talking, but I’m not that lucky...

“How much further?” Lily asks, and I inwardly groan at the sparkle in her dark eyes. She is the talkative kind, isn’t she? Fucking perfect.

“Not far.”

“What does that mean?”

Can’t she take a hint? I don’t want to talk!

I cross my arms over my chest and glare to the side to avoid her gaze. “It means it isn’t far.”

“So, what kind of...arrangements do you usually make when something like this happens?” She continues, undeterred by my cold behavior.

“Something like this has never happened before,” I growl.

“No?”

I don’t answer and pray it will make Lily shut up, but she is completely oblivious to my irritation.

“We need to buy baby stuff and go to the store together someday, you know. Together.”

Wait.

We?

As in, me and her, is a “we” now?!

Fucking hell...

My grip tightens around my biceps, and I draw a deep breath to calm myself. I’m already struggling with the fact that I’m going to become a father—I don’t need this lunatic to keep talking to make things worse! Fuck. I wish she would just stop talking already. I don’t want to answer her questions.

Is there a button to turn her off?

“What are your thoughts on being a father? Do you have any plans for the baby? Does your pack accept rogues?” She seems particularly curious about my opinions, and she keeps firing off questions as if she is desperate for answers.

“I’m sure it won’t be an issue,” I finally answer after several tense moments of silence between us. “My pack doesn’t like rogues, but they all accept me. Besides, we aren’t taking you in. You will stay with me while you’re pregnant, but once the baby is born, I will take care of the child. Alone.”

Lily gasps. “What? Hell no! We are going to face parenthood together whether you want it or not, our child needs both of their parents!”

I can feel my temper rising, my blood boiling underneath my skin. I’ve never been so angry in my life!

“You’re out of your fucking mind if you think that’s going to happen!” I roar. My voice echoes throughout the limousine, and for a moment, Lily seems scared. But then her face changes. She straightens, determined and unyielding.

Damn it. Why does she have to be so strong? Every other pack member would tremble right now!

“You may have the money and power to control me and our baby’s life, but that doesn’t mean I will just accept whatever you say and follow your every whim.” Her voice is low and firm as she stares into my eyes.

It’s obvious she won’t go down without a fight, and I close my eyes to take a couple of deep breaths before answering her.

“I understand you want to be involved in this child’s life,” I finally say after several moments of silence between us. “But our pack won’t accept it—you aren’t even one of us.”

“You’re the Alpha, Wesley—all you have to do is snap your fingers and make me a member of your pack.”

“Yeah?” I challenge. “And let an addict be a member? Please. It’s bad enough for my reputation that I’ve had a child with you, Lily. I’m not going to make it worse by taking you in as a permanent pack member.”

Her bottom lip wobbles. “I’m clean.”

I almost laugh. Almost. Because how many times haven’t I heard that same old lie before?

My mom is an alcoholic and a drug addict, and I can’t even count the number of times she has given me false hope. In the beginning, I was naive enough to believe her, which was a mistake. My mom is still plagued by addiction, even if she tries her hardest to hide it.

My voice low and gruff, I reply, “You expect me to believe you? As soon as the baby is born, I’m sure you will break your promise.”

“What if I don’t?” she asks.

“In that case, you can be a part of our child’s life,” I say cautiously. “But I won’t change my stance on allowing you into my pack. People will gossip about why I’m taking back my rejection.”

“And let me guess: you taking back your rejection is never going to happen?”

“No, I will never do that.” I glare at her without remorse, uncaring of how badly she is trembling in her seat, unmistakably afraid of my looming frame. I’m much larger than her, but I don’t care to use it to my advantage to intimidate her. Fear is good. “You will never be accepted as my mate and Luna because no sane Alpha would want a mate as weak as you!”

Shock flashes over her small face, and I think I even see tears in her large brown doe-eyes, but she quickly looks away from me to hide any trace of sadness. Her full attention lands on the passing scenery outside the window, and I’m incredibly grateful that she doesn’t talk for the rest of the ride.

Finally some silence.

Once the car stops moving, I’m surprised at how quickly Lily gets up from her seat and rushes out of the limousine. I’m not half as fast, but I’m not too surprised to learn she is waiting for me outside, arms parked over her chest.

“You’re mean.”

I arch an eyebrow. “Is this supposed to be news to me, Miss Lopez? I’m mean because I need to be.”

She steps closer and arches her back to meet my eyes, not one bit afraid of me even if I tower over her. I can’t decide whether I find that stupid or brave. I could easily shove past her, but in spite of everything, I’m...curious. I stand still, and something sweet on her breath makes me lose my train of thought for a brief moment. Hubba Bubba, maybe?

“You’re going to regret rejecting me.”

Her bizarre words snap me out of it, and a cruel smirk spreads over my lips. “I will regret rejecting you?” I snort at her ridiculous statement. “Please, the only thing I regret is sleeping with you, Miss Lopez.”

More of those pathetic tears shine in her eyes. I’m convinced she is going to run off and cry, but she doesn’t. “Screw you.”

“No, you definitely won’t get the chance to do that again.”

Whoa, where did that come from? I can’t believe I’m actually messing with her now and enjoying it. I need to remind myself that the less we speak to each other, the better.

“There are plenty of rooms on the second floor,” I say. “Pick any you want.”

I walk up to the door of my mansion without another word, but when I place my hand on the handle, something in me makes me turn around. My eyes land on Lily and one of the servants, who introduces himself and offers her a tissue. She smiles at him as if he offered her a treasure, and I avert my gaze, for some reason way more irritable than before.
