I couldn't tell if Gabriel was excited or nervous, or both. Because right now he looks like he needs to poop. I've never seen his face like that before. He has been gone for awhile now,all in the name of planning as he said before leaving to the gym with Ethan.
Frankly speaking, right now he looks like he barely survived his first session. I couldn't help but smile, looking at his shirt soaked with sweat, bright red face and a constant grimace of pain smaring his handsome face. After a hot shower,short nap which he swore wasn't needed, he looks back to normal. He forced me to get dressed and pulled me up from my comfortable bed and out of the pack house. We have been walking through the pack for nearly twenty minutes, I'm starting to get nervous.
" Baby, where are we heading to?" I couldn't help but ask, knowing he's a sucker for endearment. I watched our hands sway gently between us as we walked and marvel at the way they fit perfectly together.
" Dinner sweetheart ". Was all he said as we continue to walk through the pack, getting further away from everyone, I was beginning to get annoyed ,my leg was still not fully healed and was beginning to throb the more we walk, I think he could sense my annoyance as he bend to carry me in his arms kissing my cheek and smiling at me.
" It will be worth it , promise". He says hopefully, I smiled at his boyish reaction ,I cling to his neck, tucking my face into it so I can smell him. The gentle swaying of him carrying me allowed me to relax in his arms, by the time we got to where we were going I was already half asleep..
" We are here sweetheart". He whispers into my ear, pecking my temple as I open my eyes and look around.
" He's cleared a small patch of the forest floor , hidden among trees for privacy. A large blanket covered with snacks, drinks and wild sunflowers lay on the ground . I look up in the setting sun, dozens of lanterns hanging on the tree giving the area a soft ethereal glow.
" Wow". I exclaimed as he set me gently on the ground." You did all this for me". I ask him, he rubs the back of his neck like he always does when he is nervous.
" Ethan helped in hanging the lantern, but yeah".. he says with a sheepish smile. I smiled back at him, throwing my arms around his neck pulling him in for a steamy kiss.
" This is the sweetest thing another has ever done for me". I admit trying to control my tears.
" You deserve it sweetheart ". He says pulling me in for another gentle kiss before motioning for me to sit on the blanket. I look around at the beautiful flowers .
" They are so beautiful ". I said absentmindedly.
That is the reason why I picked this spot. I wanted to get you flowers, but your mom said you don't like bouquets. If you love something you don't cut it down, you let it grow, so rather than cutting them and bringing them to you I brought you to them. He says proudly and I feel another creak in the barrier I put around my heart to keep him out.
That's really thoughtful of you. Thank you baby. I say cupping his cheeks. I could feel the joy through our strained bond every time I called him baby and his joy became my joy as well.
" You look beautiful tonight ". He says as he hands me a drink and a plate with food inside. I find myself blushing but meet his gaze regardless.
" You look more handsome". I say blushing and he laughs before giving me a smug grin.
" Yeah, blue is really my color ". He says haughtily, making me giggle.
We eat and chat idly about random things, getting to know more about each other , the sun set while we eat I devour my dessert, some kind of Oreos cheesecake that Gabriel made himself and I thought about letting him mark me at that moment .
As the darkness envelopes us, the light from the lantern turns more romantic, casting beautiful shadows along the plain and edge of Gabriel's face, reflecting the green in his eyes and the glint of his blonde hair. He looks godly like in the light glow they cast. He watches me admire him as it begins to turn dark as they flit along my face down to where I know my shirt is showing more cleavage.
" If you keep looking at me like that, I won't be able to stop myself from kissing you". He said with a hint of warning, my eyes met his, I could see a flash of fire in them making my skin heat and pebbles under his gaze.
" So, what stops you?" I challenge him slowly , his eyes widen for a fraction of time before they narrow, a playful smirk spreading on his face.
The next moment,I was pinned under him on the forest floor his heat seeping into me and his eyes blazing fire across my face and body. He didn't try to keep the want in his eyes as they flit to my mouth, he pokes out his tongue to lick his lips and I feel my breath hitch in my throat . I swallow hard, trying to keep my emotions at bay , I nod before looking at him with pleading eyes. He parted my legs gently before settling against me bearing most of his weight on his forearms as he looked over my face as if trying to burn it into his memory . He leaned down to ghost his lips against mine, I closed my eyes waiting for him to press his lips against me. When the feeling doesn't come,my eyes flint open to find him studying me.
" I didn't bring you out here for this,I only wanted to spend time with you. If you want me to kiss you. You will have to ask for it ". He whispers and I groan a little in annoyance making him smirk.
" Kiss me please, baby ". I make my eyes go wide and pout my lips a little, making him chuckle and shake his head.
" If anyone had told me that little Rachel could get me to do anything she wanted just by pouting her lips and calling me baby, I would have said you were crazy. But here we are, me willing to give you the world . All you ever have to do is ask''. He declares passionately making my already trembling heart kick up a few notches before he leans down to sweep my lips in a firm loving kiss, I can practically feel his devotion seeping into me as our tongues clash. Passion begins to take over where reluctance once sat.
