Getting away with the Alpha's Pup

Chapter 175

Ch. 175 / 231 Apr 27, 2026

Giovanni's Perspective

The sky was low and ominous, with dark clouds churning and cascading over one another, as if foretelling the bloodshed to come. I stood at the mountaintop, gazing coldly into the distance. Inside, I was as restless as the stormy heavens and the earth beneath.

Tobias's news cut through me like a cold blade, severing everything in my heart. I couldn't believe that she had really left.

"What do you mean, she's gone?" I managed to ask, though my voice felt uncharacteristically strained.

"She left." Tobias's voice echoed in my ears, sounding distant, as if from another world.

His head was bowed, his body tense, bracing for the wrath he knew I was about to unleash.

I admit, the moment I heard the news, anger flared up in my chest like a roaring fire. My fists clenched, knuckles white with exertion. I wanted nothing more than to rush out, drag her back, and demand to know why she insisted on leaving me. But another, quieter voice of reason began to creep into my mind.

The anger receded like a tidal wave, and calmness gradually took over. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, forcing myself into quiet reflection.

I realized, more than anger, I felt a sense of relief that she was gone—because it meant she was far from the coming war. She wouldn't be caught in the midst of the bloodshed and violence; she would be safe.

My mood steadied. Despite the gnawing ache in my heart, I had to admit that this was probably for the best. "Never mind. The priority now is to protect the pack," I murmured, my tone firm.

A flash of shock passed through Tobias's eyes, as if he couldn't believe I was letting this go so easily. But he quickly regained his composure and replied, "Yes, Alpha."

Time passed in the tension of battle preparations, and at last, the storm broke. The battle came crashing down like a torrent, instantly swallowing up all semblance of tranquility.

Tension hung thick in the air as wolves on both sides growled low, their sharp teeth glinting in the cold light. I stood at the front, my gaze burning like a torch.

"Don't make any sudden moves; listen to my commands!" I ordered in a low voice, my tone calm and commanding, instantly silencing the wolves behind me. The opposing wolves were outnumbered, but I didn't panic for a second. I had anticipated this battle would be tough and had formulated a well-thought-out strategy.

The leader of the rival rogues let out a hiss, signaling his wolves to attack. Dozens of rogues surged forward like an unstoppable tidal wave. However, I had foreseen this and reacted swiftly.

"First team, spread out! Lure them into the forest!" I commanded loudly. A few agile werewolf warriors immediately dispersed and quickly disappeared into the dense forest. The rogues, unaware of the trap, followed closely behind and fell into the ambush I had set as soon as they entered the forest.

"Second team, surround them! Cut off their escape route!" I issued the command again. The second team of wolves acted swiftly, encircling the trapped rogues from the flanks and dividing them into smaller groups.

Realizing he had been ensnared in a trap, the leader of the hostile rogues roared in frustration and tried to reorganize his team. But I remained unfazed, maintaining control of the battlefield with calm precision.

I directed my warriors to suppress the enemy's movements while keeping a vigilant watch over the fight, seizing every opportunity.

"Now, launch a full-scale attack!" When the rogues were sufficiently overwhelmed, I gave the decisive command. My wolves attacked with the ferocity of a tiger descending from a mountain, their strikes precise and deadly, driving the rogues into a corner.

Suddenly, a much larger wolf pack appeared and surrounded us.

"Alpha, they're from the Blackmoon Pack," Tobias said beside me.

"Just a bunch of trash," I sneered dismissively.

In response to the sudden shift, I quickly adjusted my strategy and charged at the enemies in front of me.

The sounds of battle filled the air: the roars of werewolves, the screech of claws tearing through flesh, and the crash of bodies colliding, blending into a hellish symphony.

I was at the heart of the chaos, each strike packed with deadly force, every swipe of claws accompanied by splashes of blood.

Time lost meaning as I became fully absorbed in the fight. Despite my determination, my stamina began to wane, and I had to admit that the loss of Finn had taken a heavy toll on me.

Suddenly, a sharp pain pierced my chest. Looking down, I saw a massive claw embedded deeply in my body. It was the Gamma of the Black Moon Wolves, her eyes glinting with cruelty.

I felt my strength draining away rapidly, and the scene before me grew increasingly blurred.

"Alpha!" Tobias exclaimed, but he was also surrounded by a group of enemies and couldn't escape.

Blood continued to gush from my wounds, staining my battle robes red. The enemy's laughter echoed in my ears, but I no longer had the strength to fight back. The pain in my body and the emptiness in my heart felt like two enormous mountains pressing down on me, nearly suffocating me.

Ironically, in this moment of life and death, Fern's figure suddenly flashed through my mind. Her smile, her voice, her tears. I clenched my teeth and braced myself to keep from collapsing. Once again, the enemy's sharp claws dug into my flesh, but this time, I managed to block the attack with all my might.

"Bard! I need him alive." At that moment, I heard the familiar voice of Silas, dripping with smugness and arrogance, emerging from the darkness.

"You failed," Silas said, his figure gradually coming into view, his voice filled with the pride of a victor.

As Silas stepped forward, another figure emerged beside him—his father, Alpha Galen, a man equally devious and cunning. They stood side by side, father and son, their eyes gleaming with victory.

Their plan seemed to be succeeding. My power was diminished due to the weakening bond, the pack was in trouble, and everything was unfolding just as they had anticipated.

"You know what?" Galen's voice was low and menacing. "We've been waiting for this moment for a long time. Did you really think you could remain high and mighty? No, your time is over."

I looked at them and smiled coldly. There was no fear in that smile, only a mocking indifference. It made Silas and his father freeze; they clearly hadn't expected me to remain so composed in such a dire situation.

"Do you really think you have everything under control?" I said, my voice low and laced with sneer. "Don't you realize something is terribly wrong?"
