MAYRA'S POV
"Mayra." He called my name in his rough morning bed voice which causes a chill shiver to rush down my spine.
I bite the corner of my lips and pressed my eyes shut and hummed in response.
"Closer." He said and pulled me more to his chest, if possible.
I flushed and smiled at the same time.
"Good morning."
"Morning Mrs. Malhotra." He said and pressed his lips over my forehead leaving me in a state of pure bliss.
"So what are you planning for today?” He asked casually, slight curiosity lacing into his voice.
I smiled and tried to wriggle myself from his hold but instead he tightens his hold and chuckled in a deep husky tone which almost caught my breath away.
One thing for sure. His morning voice is one of the best melodic sound which can take anyone's breath away.
"What I am planning for today?" I repeated the question to myself and let my gaze over his face who was staring at me.
"Jog -ging?" I shuttered and pressed my eyes shut when all the incidents of last time started flashing back. Automatically my body stiffens and I bite the corner of lips in nervousness.
"I have to attend an important meeting." He said in an unsure tone and quickly removed his arms around me.
I parted my eyelids and found him walking to the door. A frown took over my face. He is leaving just because of me.
"Don't go." I said, I am sure which came out as a whisper.
He turned back and fixed his eyes on me with blank face. My heart rate quickens and I tucked the hair locks behind my ear.
"You want me to stay?" He asked hesitantly and I shook my head in disbelief.
When will he understand that all I want is him?
"No." I replied.
His face became hard rock like and his eyes flickered with hurt.
Hurt?
"I want you to come with me for jogging. Let's roam around the city during sunrise." I added with a big smile.
His expressions changed swiftly and he returned that smile with one of his own charming smile exposing his cute dimples. His eyes relaxed and filled with content.
"Teasing me huh? I see." He said with a smirk and in next minute, sat on the bed.
"But are you ready with the consequences that you are going to face next?" I almost choked my saliva at his words and looked at him with a flushed face. He leaned little closer to my face and before I could understand that what exactly he is going to do, I landed on his lap.
I chewed my inner cheeks and found him with his signature smirk. He leaned down and that's when it hit me that he's going to kiss me.
I flushed more at that thought.
"Morning breath." I managed to mold my words but he shrugged his shoulders and captured my lips with his.
Electricity shot inside me and my whole body melted in his arms. He smiled in-between the kiss and soon connected his forehead with mine.
"I thought you no longer wanted to spend your time with me." He said in a hoarse voice and let out a soft sigh.
"You were going for work." I complained with a frown and he chuckled back in response.
"Last time when you took me for jogging, I had pushed you on the broken pieces of glass. I thought those memories were invading your mind after uttering the jogging word and maybe you don't want to go with me." He said and closed his eyes and that's when a painful look crossed his face.
He never apologized for his harsh behavior but I know from the look on his face that he was genuinely sorry. I smiled and cupped his cheeks, making our gaze interlock in the beautiful intensity of pure emotions.
"Let such things get buried in the past and move on by simply living in your present." I whispered but nothing seems to change instead his frown deepened more.
"I can never bury my past when that past is still haunting me like some worst nightmare.” He said in a deep throaty sound and his eyes flickered with hurt.
My eyebrows knitted in confusion but soon I realized that he said something not related to our previous conversation but something about him.
He exhaled loudly and slowly put me on the bed.
Thousands of questions bubbled up in my mind but I decided to keep my mouth shut. I don't want him to get angry this time.
"Okay then, get ready." I said softly and pecked his cheeks before getting away from his hold.
He shook his head in amusement and let out the chuckle.
"Let me inform James and Ron." He said but before he could call them, I snatched his cell phone away from him.
He gave me puzzled look.
"No bodyguards, please.” I requested him with a small smile.
"No. Are you stupid? This is not safe. What if anyone spots us, it would be too dangerous." He yelled and ran fingers through his hair.
I froze at my place after hearing his harsh tone. I chewed my inner cheeks and fixed my eyes at the floor.
“Don’t fucking frown Mayra. I will not say yes to this. This is all about your safety and I don't want to take any risk with that." He added in a cold tone, clenching his jaw.
"Okay." I whispered dejected and tried to replace the frown with a smile.
"Good." He said with a slight grin and I couldn't help myself from smiling at the fact that how charming he looks when his lips broke up into a beautiful curl.
"You want us to go without any bodyguards? Don’t you?" He questioned to which I nodded hesitantly.
"This will make you happy?" He asked once more with a serious face and again I nodded.
"Fine whatever you say.” He commented and made a sour face.
My heart swelled up in happiness and a giant smile crossed upon my lips.
He changed his decision just for my happiness? Mr. Rehan Malhotra why and how are you making me fall for you all over again? I love you more than I did before and I know I am going to love you even more after every passing moment.
"I have an idea.” I muttered and rushed to the closet and pulled out some clothes.
"Hoodies? Seriously?" He asked giving me flat look and I just nodded with a huge smile.
"Best way to hide among crowd." I said and handheld him one of the huge hoodie.
He rolled his eyes.
"Now I am sure that after these 7 days I will end up being crazy like her." He muttered to himself.
We stepped out from his car and instantly a chill breeze kissed my face making me feel warmth inside my heart. My eyes wondered around and everything seems so nice. Sun is going to be visible in the sky anytime soon and the chill Breeze is flowing softy, calming every senses in me. This place wasn’t much crowded, just few people busy in their own little world. I adjusted my hoodie cap on my head and after passing him one quick smile, I gulped down the water.
"Jogging in hoodie. Not done." He said in a complaining tone like a child.
"Then don't. Let's just enjoy this beautiful sunrise.” I replied and his eyes lighten up.
"Perfect then." He said, interlocking his finger with mine.
I led Rehan to the empty spot from where slowly peeking sun was clearly visible. We sat there and our eyes were completely fixed at the sky. The magic was not only in the sky but also next to me.
Yes. Magic.
I am sure, this new Rehan is nothing but the magic who was beautifying my world.
"You are showing me such things Mayra which are no less than dream. This all feels like the dream, everything even you too." My heart raced faster at his words and my eyes quickly went to him who had his eyes fixed at the sun, whose redness was about to spread on the sky.
"This is reality."
"But I don't believe, Mayra. I couldn’t get over the fact that something this beautiful can also exist in this world." He sounded care free like he was letting his word out without any pressure.
"Come." I said and stood up, gesturing him to do so.
"Where?" He asked and I smiled in response.
"Surprise.” I said and he rolled his eyes.
I grabbed his hand and started walking. Soon we reached the place where many little children were playing. My smile went brighter after having the look of Rehan's face, I guess my plan to bring him here was perfect as a huge grin was plastered on his face after watching those children.
"Mayra. Wow. You are here after so many days?" One of the small girl asked and I nodded and kissed her cheeks.
"They all know you?" He asked sounding surprised.
"Remember I used to come here for jogging. So every day I spent some time with them. After all who can ignore these sweet wonders?" I replied to which he nodded calmly.
"Who is this?" One of them asked me, pointing Rehan and every pair of eyes snapped towards him. To my peripheral vision I found Rehan smiling at them.
"Her husband." Before I can reply to them, Rehan does the Honor and walked closer to them, grabbing their football and saying something to them, which I didn’t heard as I was too busy in admiring his smiling face.
"Wow. Please come and play with us, Mr. Husband." I felt my heart thumping strongly at the sound of cuteness which erupted from their giggling.
Soon they all started playing together including Rehan and all I did was to sit in the corner, admiring them.
Rehan looks so care free and content. Not even once that heart melting smile slipped away from his face. The melodic sound of his laughter mixes with that of those little munchkins and that's when he let his eyes towards me. He smiled warmly at me and then once again started playing with them. This was a new side of him. The side which I've never expected. But it is said right, children are reflection of God. Maybe this was all his plan. The plan of God to connect my life with him.
"Why are you here, all alone?" Suddenly a cute voice pulled me out of my trance.
I tilted my head only to spot a boy sitting next to me with his arms wrapped around his legs. I looked at his face carefully, there were few tears imprint on his innocent face. He seems hardly of five years or so. He was cute beyond everything.
"Why are you crying?" I asked him and he quickly shook his head, wiping his tears.
I smiled at his attempt to wipe his tears with his little fingers.
"Boys don't cry." He said in an angry tone which only caused me to smile more brightly.
"Why don't you go and play with them?" I asked and he pouted cutely.
"I miss mommy and daddy." He said with a frown.
"They must be somewhere nearby. You want me to find them?"
"What's your name?" He questioned by ignoring what I said.
"Mayra and yours?" I said.
"I will not tell you." He said and started laughing to which my jaw dropped.
I shook my head and pinched his cheeks softly.
"Bye." He said and before I could say anything, he rushed away.
Well.... That child was adorable.
"Mayra, want an ice cream?"
Rehan said marching towards me with his hand full of ice creams. I looked at him in surprise and then I saw every children lost in eating the ice cream.
"Here" He handed me and sat next to me with a continuous smile playing on his lips.
"Thank you."
"No. Mayra don't thank me. Instead I want to thank you. I want to thank you for bringing me here today. You know children... They were so peaceful. "He said chuckling over his own sentence and wrapped his arm around my waist.
"I've learned something.” He said and I raised my eyebrows curiously.
"Happiness is nothing but peace."
I felt myself staring at him.
The thing which I tried to make him learn from so long. How easily he understood, just simply by playing with few children.
Now this is all I need. This Rehan. My Rehan. I wish this moment could stop forever where I am with him and nothing much.
