Tabitha's POV
Derek left after saying some words that I couldn't figure out.
There was no reproach, no madness, and no question.
What did that mean, the most correct choice?
The door slammed shut, and a new round of fireworks soared into the sky again.
I watched the fleeting brilliant fireworks, which resembled my barren life.
Apart from the transient brilliance, all that remained was endless desolation and darkness.
While everyone was immersed in the lively atmosphere, I suddenly heard a woman scream.
"Kyrian!"
Did I hear it wrong?
I rushed out of the room, only to see several men hurriedly running downstairs, passing by my door.
One of them was holding Kyrian!
I didn't know what had happened, but by the time I realized, I had already chased after them.
Kyrian's mournful cry echoed through the corridor, but at that moment, everyone was immersed in the fireworks feast, even the wolf guards had been called away to set off fireworks.
Chloe seemed to have injured her leg and couldn't run at all.
Soon, I surpassed her.
It turned out that there were many people attempting to take Kyrian away.
I am glad that I had already changed my dress, so I could briskly keep up with them.
Soon, I discovered that these men were definitely not ordinary humans.
They must be werewolves.
Otherwise, they wouldn't run so fast and be so determined.
They destroyed a fence around the castle perimeter, and I followed them all the way, directly into the forest.
Running through the woods, I constantly called for Crystal in my mind.
I hoped that she could take over me.
But soon, I followed those guys and arrived at the edge of the forest.
There was a car parked there.
They got in the car quickly.
As they started the car, about to escape, I leaped onto the car without hesitation.
My current body condition was completely incomparable to that in my school days.
Even though I wanted to put on a fierce look in front of them, I couldn't help but gasp heavily, "You...put down..."
I couldn't even finish a sentence, but I had to tightly hold onto the edge of the car door in case I got thrown off.
I wondered how I managed to keep them up with this sickly body.
Those guys were also very nervous when they saw me jump onto the car.
However, I fainted before they could even attack me.
Derek's POV
"Kyrian was kidnapped!"
I had just returned to the castle when I heard Chloe's shout.
I hurriedly ran upstairs, seeing Chloe crawling towards me step by step.
Her thighs were bleeding continuously.
Daphne was about to slap her. "How could my son be kidnapped out of the blue? I asked you to take care of him, and yet you failed time and time again..."
"Shut up!" I interrupted impatiently. Chloe was injured. Clearly, this accident was different from the previous false alarm.
"What exactly happened?"
Chloe recounted the incident. Hearing that Tabitha had also jumped onto the car, Daphne was prepared to blame her.
"I said that she had malicious intentions. She must have had someone kidnap our child! Derek, you must rescue Kyrian!"
I really wanted to tear Daphne's mouth apart.
Anyone with a brain would not say such outrageous things.
I gritted my teeth and said, "Drag her out."
Alvin had already begun the investigation when I saw Tabitha chasing after the criminals without hesitation in the surveillance video.
My heart was touched once again.
I knew better than anyone that if Tabitha really wanted to lay a hand on Kyrian, she would have done it long before.
She genuinely liked this child, to the extent that she would chase after those rogues after realizing their identities.
Alvin looked worried and lowered his voice, saying, "Alpha Derek, could it be that your identity has been exposed? They took Kyrian away to exchange for something they want."
Hearing this, my wolf became restless.
I subconsciously released the Alpha aura.
"No," I denied directly.
I intercepted their escape footage from the surveillance and said, "Look at their movements. They don't seem trained. Obviously, they are all a bunch of rogues. Those people would resort to taking everyone's lives, instead of a child, to threaten me."
"If it wasn't for them, who else would dare to confront the Black Thorn Pack?" Alvin couldn't understand.
"They may just seek wealth," I said, looking at the damaged areas around the castle.
"Yeah, Miss Sutton had bought quite a few press releases for her birthday banquet this time, especially for this fireworks extravaganza where she spent millions of dollars. It's inevitable that some people would take risks and attempt to kidnap Kyrian."
Alvin sighed, "Miss Sutton announced the details of the birthday banquet. Originally, our security was supposed to handle it, but Miss Sutton insisted on entrusting it to her uncle. A matter of personal gain would be fine, but unfortunately, this time it turned into such a big issue. Even Ms. Hartley got involved."
Hearing that Tabitha was involved, I couldn't help but furrow my brows.
If they only wanted ransom and would not harm Kyrian temporarily, she would put herself in danger.
Seeing them running towards the seaside, I knew they obviously came prepared.
There was no signal even for mobile phones on the sea, let alone finding a person.
What I feared the most was that they would choose an uninhabited island, making the investigation even more difficult.
