Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 76

Ch. 76 / 840 May 06, 2026

Tabitha's POV

I didn't recognize the person in this photo. It was unfamiliar.

But according to my good memory, I had seen this person somewhere before.

Where?

"What's wrong? Do you think of something?" whispered Obadiah.

A flash of light crossed my mind. Bruto Street in the southern district.

The day I went to look for Vilda.

She rushed towards me like a mad person.

At that time, I ran across the street and when I turned around, I saw someone behind Vilda.

"I..." I was about to say but swallowed it, afraid of being heard.

I hurriedly said to Obadiah, "Alpha Obadiah, you have helped me a lot this time. Can you help me check again? I suspect that I am being followed by someone."

I would be exposed if I made a move. But nobody would suspect Obadiah.

Obadiah got it immediately.

He was about to leave. With a polite smile, he said, "Okay, see you later."

"Okay."

After Obadiah left, I recalled the incident involving Vilda. It seemed that her death was not an accident at all.

I went there and someone was afraid that Vilda would say something. So they killed her.

If Ethan, who appeared near Vilda, was the one putting wolfsbane to my wound, there must be someone behind.

Clearly, it wouldn't be Daphne as she could only come up with the scheme of spotting adultery.

Since it was true that my father killed Elena, why keep it a secret?

I recalled everything that had happened in the past month in my mind. It turned out that everything was plotted deliberately.

The culprit was well aware of my relationship with Derek and even knew that my abdominal injury couldn't heal.

It seemed that there was something wrong with John's matter.

This thought sent a chill down my spine as if the plot had begun two years ago.

Thinking of Vilda's innocent face and the gruesome description of her death in the news, I felt my heart tightened.

She might have died because of me.

I tightly held my phone and sent Vilda's information to Obadiah, asking him to investigate it privately.

Later, I wondered whether to tell Derek about this discovery.

The current evidence only proved the connection between the wolfsbane in my wound and Vilda's death.

Everything about my father was just speculation.

In the end, Derek may blame me for making up stories again. So I gave up on this plan.

On the day when the truth came out, I wanted to see how regretful he would be.

After thinking about all this, I suddenly felt a little hungry.

At this time, almost all the guests of the birthday party went to watch the fireworks.

I came to the buffet area alone.

In addition to plates, some small baskets with oil-absorbing paper inside were thoughtfully prepared here.

I picked up one and took many cakes.

Then I aimlessly wandered on the circular corridor of the castle.

I went up the stairs and arrived at the fourth floor, which was not open to guests.

But at that time, the guards were absent, so I went straight to the terrace on this floor.

I planned to enjoy the cakes alone on the terrace.

Suddenly, there came a babbling sound from behind me.

I turned around and saw Kyrian stumbling towards me.

I smiled at him and reached out my hand, saying, "Sweetheart, do you want to leave with me?"

Without hesitation, Kyrian placed his chubby hands in my palms, allowing me to lift him up as he wrapped his arms around my neck.

He rubbed against me like a puppy and then affectionately called out, "Mom."

I lovingly looked at him and said, "Cutie, I am not your mother. You should call me aunty."

I carried him back to his own room, where there was a small cake. Then I put a birthday hat on him, lit the candles, and gently sang the birthday song for him.

Though having no idea what I was doing, he laughed as I laughed.

I took out a small brand-name scarf printed with a white bird from a tiny box.

"This is what I prepared for my baby, but it has never been used. Since today is also your birthday, I'll give it to you."

The little baby reached out to grab the scarf, with a smile that closely resembled Derek's.

I tied the scarf around his neck and kissed him on the face. "Darling, happy birthday."

Looking at Kyrian, I thought if my child hadn't died, he would be like this.

I cut two pieces of cake and thoughtfully picked out the cream and fruit. Kyrian hadn't learned to eat with a spoon, so he could only wave his chubby hands randomly.

Otherwise, he would lower his head to lick the bowl and plate, with a little cream sticking to his little nose.

I looked at him gently and said, "Look! You're making a mess."

I was laughing and eating the cake heartily, tears streaming down nonstop.

Seeing this, Kyrian babbled, "Cry, cry..."

I wiped away my tears haphazardly and gently held him, saying, "Sweety, I used to have a baby too."

Kyrian reached out to wipe the tears off my face.

"But he went to a faraway place, and I missed him every day. Babe, why did you happen to be Daphne's child?"

He opened his arms and hugged me, and my tears rolled down onto his neck.

"Mom, don't cry."
