Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 86

Ch. 86 / 840 May 06, 2026

Derek's POV

"Bang!"

I smashed the ashtray in front of me on the ground. How could there be no news from the trap I had set?

Firstly, the identities of those individuals could not be found, and secondly, there were no traces of their whereabouts.

I thought they would soon make a request, but a whole week had passed, and there had been no follow-up.

I couldn't understand why those guys took the risk of kidnapping my child but didn't come to me for a greater benefit.

Not only was the child missing, but Tabitha who followed was also in a life-or-death situation.

Thinking of this, I became even more irritated.

I stood in the office of the packhouse.

The glass of the French window reflected my somewhat haggard face and bloodshot eyes.

These days, I slept at most 2 hours a day, and my wolf Leo also became extremely exhausted.

"Could you sense Tabitha?"

Knowing that the hope was slim, I couldn't help but ask my wolf in my mind.

The glass window reflected my face, my eyes turning golden.

My wolf appeared.

He responded in my mind, "I can't feel Crystal. I think they are our second mates, but we have spent too little time together, so we can't even establish a connection."

My mood plummeted once again.

The search ability of the Black Thorn Pack was outstanding.

But to find a few clueless people was rocket science.

If they were my enemy, even if Kyrian got killed, I would be informed of the news of his death.

But if they were kidnappers, how could they not have demanded ransom for a whole week?

Tonight was New Year's Eve, and tomorrow would be the start of a new year.

The members of the Black Thorn Pack were celebrating at home, while I walked alone step by step to the terrace, allowing the heavy snowflakes to cover me.

"Alpha Derek, take a good rest." Alvin covered me with a coat.

I watched the snow flying under the street lamp, and a touch of loneliness swept through my heart.

I said in a hoarse voice, "Alvin, what should I do if they died?"

What should I do?

I asked my wolf in my heart.

Alvin fell silent.

I knew that he didn't know what to say because, at that moment, any comforting words felt like daggers, tormenting my wound.

Alvin said, "Tabitha and Kyrian are blessed with good fortune. They would be fine."

I lit a cigarette, and smoke curled in the wind and snow.

My voice was deep. "I thought I would be very happy if she died. But when she disappeared with the kidnappers, I realized I was wrong. It turns out I'm more afraid of her leaving than anyone else."

Alvin did not respond.

I continued to mutter to myself, "She once asked me if I would be happy if she died. I didn't have a chance to tell her that I didn't want her to die! I want her to live well!"

I felt like I had become a little mentally unstable.

I tightly held Alvin's hand and said, "I haven't told her the truth about the child yet, Alvin. Do you think she has sensed it? That is why she goes to save Kyrian every time, regardless of everything."

"Alpha Derek, you are too tired. You need a good sleep."

I let go of Alvin's hand with a sense of disappointment.

At first, I thought that those people were probably audacious kidnappers. But as time went by, I became more uncertain and increasingly afraid that they were my enemies.

I was afraid that one day there would be a cardboard box at the door, containing their bodies or some body parts.

The current situation was like throwing a stone into the water, with no echo at all, and no one knew what happened underwater.

My once proud patience and rationality crumbled as time passed.

I dared not sleep, for as soon as I fell asleep, the bloodshed I had experienced in the past would transform into Tabitha and Kyrian.

On the seventh day, I finally collapsed.

For several days, I didn't eat or drink. I didn't sleep or rest. I watched the surveillance over and over again, and my eyes became bloodshot.

The people I sent out did not bring back any useful information.

My wolf and my own spirit both plunged into a breakdown.

To protect our bodies, Leo forced me to close my eyes.

Alvin found me lying on the bathroom floor.

When I woke up, I found myself in the lounge of the packhouse.

The wolf pack doctor Kamp was busy attending to me.

I lay on the bed in the lounge, listening to Alvin and Kamp whispering beside me.

Kamp's voice was filled with concern. "If he continues like this, his wolf will become weak."

Alvin sighed heavily and said, "I know, but we can't force him to rest. He needs to be willing himself."

I closed my eyes and tried to steady my breathing, but the inner anxiety and panic were like a raging storm, preventing me from being calm.

I called out to my wolf, Leo, in my mind, hoping that he would give me some guidance.

After a while, Leo's voice came into my mind.

His voice carried a hint of fluctuation. "Derek, I... I feel Tabitha."

I suddenly opened my eyes, with a mixture of shock and hope in my heart. "What did you say? Do you feel her? Where is she?"

Leo's voice became clearer. "I'm not entirely sure, but I feel like she's still here."

I sat up, disregarding my weak body, and urgently said to Alvin and Kamp, "I need your help. Leo sensed Tabitha, and we need to act immediately."
