Derek's POV
On the helicopter, I tried to talk with Tabitha.
But she was very careful with her words now, afraid of offending me.
Realizing this, I leaned towards her. But she looked at me with alerted vigilance.
After the helicopter landed, I took her off the plane hand in hand.
Through peripheral vision, I saw her legs trembling.
She was like a stray dog in the wild, particular wary of humans after experiencing their abuse.
Whenever I looked at her, I would see fear in her eyes.
Just like now, I didn't do anything. But her body shuddered when I simply gave her a glance.
Although she was back now, she became even more sensitive and timid than before.
She checked my expression carefully and no longer spoke out her ideas freely.
I was annoyed by all of this.
As soon as we arrived home, Chloe had taken Kyrian away to play. Tabitha followed me upstairs.
As soon as she stepped into the bedroom, the door was closed behind her.
The light was not turned on in the room, and the blackout curtains were tightly closed. There was only a beam of light from the edge of the curtains.
I stood in the darkness, so Tabitha couldn't see any of my expressions.
Her lips and neck happened to be exposed to that beam of light. In the darkness, I reached out my hand and touched her lips. Her lips were hot.
She was just about to say something when my fingertips slid down from her lips to her delicate and petite collarbone.
In the darkness, my breath became increasingly heavy.
I leaned towards her with my head tilted. The next second, my lips were pressed against hers.
My wolf’s longing for Tabitha was like a raging tide. This almost uncontrollable feeling swept through my mind.
I could feel its strong desire for Tabitha.
This desire intertwined with the feelings deep within me.
I realized that my feelings for Tabitha had never truly disappeared.
My fingers gently touched her cheeks as I felt the warmth and softness of her skin.
I pulled her closer, our breaths intertwining.
My other hand wrapped around her waist, pressing her tightly against my body.
I could feel her heartbeat racing. Every breath of her was at the same pace with my heartbeat.
My wolf became restless and agitated.
It growled low in my mind, conveying a wild longing.
My lips were pressed tightly against Tabitha’s, exploring her sweetness. This was a feeling beyond words.
With Tabitha being around, I was surrounded by a pleasant scent.
The scent was so complex and enchanting. It had both the freshness of spring flowers and a hint of sweetness from autumn fruits.
It reminded me of the morning dew.
The scent lingered between my nostrils, awakening the instinct deep within me.
It was different from any perfume or scent in the natural world. This was a scent unique to Tabitha.
My wolf was unusually sensitive to this scent, and it conveyed a wild excitement in my mind.
My heart pounded fiercely in my chest, with each beat accompanied by a longing for Tabitha.
As I kissed her, I felt a strong sense of belonging.
This was a feeling beyond words.
I could almost hear the roar of my wolf deep within my soul.
"Mate," I whispered. This word echoed in the dark room. It was an affirmation carrying a sacred sense.
My wolf and my soul reached consensus at this moment. Tabitha was not just the second chance we were willing to fight for. She was our fate mate.
The Moon Goddess got us a perfect match for our souls.
Realizing this, I felt an unprecedented joy and excitement.
My wolf urged me, demanding me to mark her in the most ancient way. It required me to announce to the whole world that Tabitha belonged to us.
My desire for Tabitha had reached its peak.
My teeth started to change as sharp fangs extended from my gums.
I gently sniffed at Tabitha's neck.
I was searching for the best spot to leave my mark. That unique scent in her made my heart race.
My breath became heavier and heavier around her neck.
I could feel her pulse racing. Her every heartbeat was beckoning to me.
Tabitha seemed to sense my intention.
She began to struggle desperately.
I felt strange about her struggle.
Then I recalled the rogue on that small island.
So I bit her lips hard.
"You think about him again?" I asked coldly.
"No, I’m not! We’re just friends." Tabitha said coldly with a straight face.
"Huh." I chuckled coldly.
I touched Tabitha's face with a sullen look. "Did you have sex?"
Tabitha's eyes widened, as if shocked at my question.
“You went too far!” Her voice became colder.
"But he touched your hand, didn’t he?" I asked, my hand squeezing her fingers hard.
Tabitha opened her mouth, but didn’t say anything in the end.
She didn’t explain anything.
Her response made me feel that she was guilty.
I bent down and lifted her up, walking towards the bathroom.
