Third person's POV
The bodyguard moved with the speed and agility of a hunting cheetah, leaping over various obstacles on the rooftop, his hair whipping wildly in the fierce wind, and his clothes flapping loudly.
His arms swung forcefully, each stride carrying a powerful impact, and just in the nick of time, he extended his thick, tightly muscled arm and grabbed Gloria's slender wrist with an iron grip.
"Miss Bennett, please don't make things difficult for us. If anything happens to you, we won't be able to account for it to Alpha Leopold," the bodyguard said anxiously, his forehead veins bulging, and beads of sweat rolling down his cheeks.
"Pah, as long as I abandon my moral bottom line, you can't bind me with so-called responsibilities. I couldn't fight him while I was alive; when I get to hell, I will pray to Satan to grant me the most terrifying power. I will become the most evil demon and will definitely make Alpha Leopold and you guys pay! Hey, you better not walk in the dark at night, or I'll let the demons drag you into the endless abyss."
Gloria shouted at the top of her lungs, her body struggling violently.
Her feet kicked wildly in the air, splashing up a bit of snow from the edge of the rooftop, and her vigor was hardly that of someone about to meet their demise.
"Miss Bennett, please don't joke with me. I definitely won't let anything happen to you," the bodyguard said, barely suppressing a laugh, his lips curling up at the corners before he quickly pressed them tight again, his hands still firmly gripping Gloria, his fingers turning white from the force.
"Hey, do you know what is the most difficult thing in the world to control?" Gloria suddenly asked seriously, staring straight into the bodyguard's eyes, her body ceasing to struggle, but her chest still heaving violently.
"Death?" The bodyguard answered tentatively, tilting his head slightly, a hint of confusion in his eyes.
Gloria, with a mysterious air as if she knew all the secrets of the world, said, "No, it's the stock market."
After saying this, she raised her eyebrows, a trace of complacency on her face.
The bodyguard shook his head helplessly. "Miss Bennett, such a cold joke is not funny at all."
"Alright, I'll count to three, and you let go," Gloria threatened, extending three fingers and waving them in front of the bodyguard's eyes, her gaze resolute.
"I won't," the bodyguard was resolute, lifting his chin slightly, his eyes firmly meeting Gloria's.
"I have a private stash of money. If you let go, you can find it. How about that?" Gloria began to tempt, her eyes sparkling with cunning, her body starting to twist again in an attempt to break free from the bodyguard's grip.
The bodyguard remained steadfast in his principles, shaking his head and saying, "I'm afraid that's not possible."
"Do you eat a lot?" Gloria suddenly changed the subject, tilting her head and looking up and down at the bodyguard.
"Not much," the bodyguard was somewhat confused by the question, his eyes filled with bewilderment, and he unconsciously scratched his head.
"Well, I don't mind. Come on, I need a helper and a fighter in heaven. You can join me in hell so we won't be lonely on the way, and your boss will send your monthly salary as offerings."
Gloria spoke incessantly, her face wearing a nearly mad expression, her mouth moving rapidly, her spittle freezing into tiny crystals in the cold air.
The group of people behind them, hearing this bizarre conversation, were at a loss for what to feel—whether to be anxious about the tense situation or to laugh at the absurd dialogue.
Some widened their eyes and slightly opened their mouths; others crossed their arms, furrowing their brows, their gazes shifting between Miss Bennett and the bodyguard.
It wasn't until a phone ring suddenly sounded that they were relieved from their indecision.
"Miss Bennett, it's your call," the bodyguard said with a sense of relief, exhaling deeply, his body trembling slightly as if the tension had drained him.
"It must be that jerk. I won't answer. Just tell him I'm dead and gone, and I'll haunt him in his dreams later," Gloria huffed, her eyes round with anger, her face flushed with indignation.
"No, no, it's not Alpha Leopold. It's an unknown number," the bodyguard explained, pulling out the phone from Gloria's pocket and swiping the screen to check the caller ID.
"It must be an insurance salesman. Tell them it's too late. I'm about to die, and no accident insurance will help," Gloria said scornfully, snorting and filled with disdain.
"Which insurance company is so dedicated in the middle of the night? It must be someone important," the bodyguard retorted, staring at the phone screen, his brow slightly furrowed.
Gloria cursed, "If it were an important person, wouldn't I have saved their contact? You idiot!"
She tried to snatch the phone from the bodyguard's hand, leaning forward so much that she nearly slipped off the edge of the rooftop again, causing the bodyguard to quickly pull her back in fear.
Seeing her unyielding attitude, the bodyguard was anxious, wondering how Alpha Leopold managed to handle her.
Out of options, the bodyguard pressed the answer button and considerately put the call on speakerphone, his fingers tapping the screen with a hint of nervousness and awkwardness.
A clear female voice echoed through the snowy night sky, "Gloria, is that you?"
