Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 697

Ch. 697 / 840 May 06, 2026

Third person's POV

The smile on Rolf's face vanished instantly, his expression becoming solemn as he asked, "Alpha Derek, are you worried he will retaliate against you?"

"He has deduced my identity through Tabitha. I have touched on his core interests this time. Do you think he will tolerate it easily? Just as a snake would strike at the most vulnerable part of its enemy, he will surely seize my weakness," Derek said in a deep tone.

"Alpha Derek, your weakness is Tabitha. He is very likely to target her," Rolf warned with concern.

Derek's eyes were deep and complex, as if containing endless thoughts. He spoke slowly, "When I married her and chose to keep it a secret, it was out of concern that if my identity were ever revealed, it might bring her a lot of trouble and danger. But after so many twists and turns, she was still exposed and seized by others. Now, in addition to her enemies, my identity may become the biggest threat she faces."

"What should we do, Alpha Derek?" Rolf asked anxiously.

Derek stood with his hands behind his back, quietly at the edge of the cliff, the sound of waves crashing against the rocks in his ears.

His gaze was cold and resolute, like twinkling cold stars, as he said, "The reason Tabitha can be my weakness is because I am not strong enough, leaving opportunities for others to threaten me with her. What I need to do now is to keep climbing and become strong enough to eliminate all potential obstacles. Only then will no one be able to harm her again."

Not far away, people were celebrating with wild joy.

They had gained over a billion dollars in cash from this operation. Imagine the scene of indulgence and revelry amidst the towering pile of hundreds of millions of dollars, as if the island was experiencing a crazy rain of banknotes.

At this moment, a tall and straight figure slowly approached.

Upon seeing him, Alvin and Rolf nodded in greeting and then tactfully slipped away.

Derek turned to look, and there was Alpha Leopold, whose face always gave people the impression of being humble and elegant.

"You just gave me over a billion so easily?" Alpha Leopold's face was no longer the noble and gentle demeanor he usually displayed in public.

His collar was casually unbuttoned, giving him a look of unruliness and indulgence.

"Friends don't need to worry about these small amounts. If it weren't for your quick arrangement of help after my call, I might really be in a desperate situation this time. By the way, I used your people. Won't it cause you any trouble?" Derek said gratefully.

"What problem could there be? You know my style, always moving around, just doing some small businesses, not like you, who has built such a huge and strong enterprise. I haven't been to your place for a long time. Are you planning to take all the wolves in the world under your control? Alpha Derek. I heard you successfully developed several significant projects in the past two years."

Alpha Leopold joked with a smile.

He had visited Derek's base a few times, and each time, he was deeply shocked.

In his eyes, it was not just a base but an independent small kingdom.

"But for self-protection," Derek responded modestly.

"That's the kind of ability and courage you have to earn such a huge amount of wealth. Otherwise, with so many people to support, I really don't know how you can keep going," Alpha Leopold said with emotion.

Derek gently rubbed his forehead, a hint of fatigue on his face as he said, "Let's not talk about these for now. How are you and your mate recently? Don't repeat my mistakes."

Alpha Leopold's face changed slightly, a bit unnaturally as he said, "Don't worry. I have always been very gentle with her. In dealing with women, I have always..."

However, before he could finish his sentence, his phone rang urgently.

"It's me," Leopold answered the phone.

"Alpha Leopold, Miss Bennett is going to jump off a building," came the anxious voice from the other end.

"Stop her! I'll be right back," Leopold said nervously.

Leopold coughed awkwardly and said, "I have an emergency. I'll go back. Contact me anytime if there are any issues."

Derek watched his hurried departure and couldn't help but remind, "Gloria has a powerful character. You'd better restrain yourself. Don't wait until you regret it like I do now to understand."

"I see," Leopold responded without turning his head.

With his departure, the world seemed to return to peace, leaving only the sounds of nature echoing in the ears.

Derek lay slowly on the grass, looking up at the starry sky, but he couldn't help muttering, "Tabitha..."

His heart was full of regret and remorse. If he could do it again, he vowed he would never treat her in the wrong way as before.

They seemed to have unlimited power and endless wealth, as if they could control everything as they wished, but in the end, they couldn't even protect a sincere love, which was a cruel joke of fate.
