Third person's POV
When she went in, she was full of energy and vigor.
But now, as she came out, she was so weak that even her lips were pale, and her body was on the verge of collapsing, barely able to stand with the support of others.
Both Rolf and Tabitha could see that Misha must have had a blood draw far exceeding the normal amount, which was why she was so weak and feeble.
Misha was in such a hurry when she arrived that she didn't even notice Tabitha's presence.
It was only now, when Tabitha looked at her with a worried and anxious gaze, that Misha subconsciously shifted her eyes towards Tabitha.
With just one glance, Misha recognized the woman in front of her as Tabitha—the person Derek always held dear.
Through the tense and busy surgery just now, Misha had roughly understood the course of events.
Knowing Derek as she did, with his abilities, he could quickly find cover to protect himself in any dangerous situation.
Even if he was unfortunately injured, it would never be so severe.
Derek's entire back had become a heavily injured area, and Misha knew that there was only one reasonable explanation—he had shielded someone from a fatal injury.
And as for who the woman he had protected was, Misha didn't need to think twice to guess.
Despite being weak at this moment, with each step seeming to exhaust all her strength, Misha still gritted her teeth and walked towards Tabitha with steps that appeared firm but were actually feeble.
Before Tabitha could say anything, Misha suddenly raised her hand and slapped Tabitha's face hard.
This unexpected action took Rolf completely by surprise. He never expected Misha to do such a thing.
His eyes widened in shock, and he quickly reacted, rushing forward in one step and using his body to block Misha.
His tone was tinged with anger and confusion as he loudly questioned, "Misha, what are you doing?"
However, Misha completely ignored Rolf's obstruction, and her eyes fiercely stared at Tabitha.
Her eyes were filled with jealousy and resentment, looking like a starving wolf that wanted to devour Tabitha alive.
She shouted, "What are you? Do you deserve him to risk his life for you? Your son of a bitch! Even if you die ten thousand times, it's not worth his little finger!"
Tabitha was still immersed in the extreme tension of Derek's uncertain life and death. This woman she had never met suddenly slapped her, and the slap left her completely stunned.
Her mind went blank, her ears were buzzing, and before she could recover from this sudden blow, she heard the woman utter such ugly and vicious words.
Tabitha instinctively licked her lips, endured the anger inside, looked up, and returned Misha's gaze with a cold look, saying word by word, "Who I am has nothing to do with you, and what he wants to do also has nothing to do with you."
Derek's love for her was her greatest confidence, and she firmly believed this, while Misha was doomed to lose completely in this regard.
Rolf, seeing this, quickly stepped in to mediate and tried to ease the tense atmosphere.
He smiled and said sincerely, "Misha, the situation at that time was really very critical, and it was Alpha Derek's voluntary choice. Don't blame Mrs. Greenwood. She was also injured."
"Mrs. Greenwood?" Misha snorted, a look of disdain on her face, "Aren't they divorced?"
Rolf's face immediately showed a hint of embarrassment.
In fact, everyone knew that Misha had a secret crush on Derek, but she always kept it restrained in her daily life, so everyone just pretended not to know.
Who would have thought that today, seeing Derek injured, Misha would lose control of her emotions and directly scold Tabitha.
Rolf scratched his head and continued, "Miss Dalton, in Alpha Derek's heart, Miss Hartley will always be his only wife. Otherwise, he wouldn't have risked his life to protect her tonight. Um... you've drawn so much blood, your body must be very weak. You should go back and rest first."
Before leaving, Misha gave Tabitha another fierce glare and threw out a harsh word, "Only? Still divorced."
This sentence was like a bucket of cold water, pouring down on Tabitha, making her heart sink sharply.
Tabitha found that the people who were hostile to her were not only Misha.
Even the doctors coming and going deliberately ignored her, as if she were air.
Even the medical staff who bandaged her hand were persuaded by Rolf with great effort.
She felt like an alien who had intruded into this world, and no one welcomed her.
Rolf looked at the tired and stubborn Tabitha, his heart full of pain.
He suggested, "It's getting late. Removing the glass is not a small matter, and it's not known how long it will take. Tabitha, you should go and rest first. Your body is not suitable for staying up late. As soon as there is a result from Alpha Derek, I will tell you the first time."
