Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 726

Ch. 726 / 840 May 06, 2026

Third person's POV

Gunshots rang out from outside, but Tabitha's mind was no longer receptive. All she could see was the bloodied Derek.

Her body was immobilized, and she could only watch helplessly as Derek's blood dripped onto her face, then slid down her chin and into her neck.

"I, I'm fine," he managed to say, forcing a weak smile and reaching out to gently touch Tabitha's face.

His knuckles, already marred by glass shards, were ignored as he wiped the blood from her face.

"If, if I die, would you shed a tear for me?"

Tabitha was in a state of rigidity, unable to associate the battered man before her with Derek.

He had always been a god-like figure. How could he be like this?

Her lips trembled, wanting to do something, but she couldn't do anything.

Just like with Joanna, they had shielded her with their bodies, and she could only watch helplessly as it all unfolded.

Tears streamed down her cheeks, "No, you won't die."

Soon, Rolf charged up amidst the dense gunfire.

When he saw the gruesome scene before him, he was taken aback and involuntarily exclaimed, "Alpha Derek!"

At this moment, Derek was in so much pain that he was sweating profusely, with large beads of sweat rolling down his forehead, and his lips had turned pale and bloodless.

But even so, he still endured the intense pain and said with difficulty, "Rolf, save Tabitha first."

The passenger door was tightly pinned against the wall, impossible to open, and the left side of the car was up against a large truck, making the situation critical.

With no other choice, Rolf had to squeeze in through the shattered windshield on the roof of the car.

As he squeezed in, he said to Derek, "Alpha Derek, you have to hold on."

Tabitha's fingers trembled as she caressed Derek's face, tears rolling down in large droplets.

Her eyes were filled with fear and worry, and her voice was choked with sobs.

Derek weakly smiled at her and said, "Tabitha, you were right. It looks like I'm going to give my life back to you."

Derek paused, then continued in a faint voice, "I'm not afraid of death. I'm just worried that after I die, there will be no one to protect you and the children anymore. I'm sorry, I haven't been a good father or a good husband, letting you all suffer so much, letting you get hurt so much..." As he coughed, blood slid from the corner of his mouth and slowly flowed down his chin.

Even with his life hanging by a thread, Derek was still thinking of Tabitha.

He tried to raise his hand to wipe away the tears from Tabitha's face, but found his palm full of blood, instead making Tabitha's face dirtier.

He said, "Don't, don't cry. I said I wouldn't hurt you anymore."

Tabitha, besides crying, didn't know what to say.

She had only one thought in her mind, that Derek must survive!

Meanwhile, a fierce gun battle was taking place outside.

Fortunately, after Derek learned that someone wanted to assassinate Tabitha, he had arranged many elite personnel around them.

These people quickly rushed to a shop, and the shop walls provided them with cover, giving Rolf and others time to rescue them. The gun battle lasted about ten minutes until the wailing of police sirens gradually subsided.

The originally quiet street was now filled with the continuous wailing of police sirens.

Derek was also successfully rescued, but his back was full of glass shards, and Rolf dared not easily move him, only carefully sending him to the ambulance.

Alvin's arm was injured. He covered his injured arm and said to Tabitha, "Tabitha, I will escort you to a safe place first. These people are not ordinary killers!"

But Tabitha shook her head and said, "I want to go to the hospital with him. Please take my children and Gloria to the island."

So, Tabitha also got on the ambulance.

She looked at the glass shards all over Derek's body, her heart full of worry. Those glasses were all deeply embedded in his body. It was unknown how deep they were and whether they had injured the internal organs.

If the internal organs were ruptured, then Derek might not survive the night.

On the way to the hospital, Tabitha kept holding Derek's hand tightly, her eyes full of anxiety and expectation, and said, "Derek, I want you to promise me that you must not die."

Derek's breath became weaker and weaker, but he still used the last strength to comfort Tabitha, "Okay, I won't die. I will still be by your side."

Tabitha's eyes were full of heartache and tension.

After arriving at the hospital, Derek was sent into the operating room.

He was wearing a black coat today, so the blood on his body was not so obvious.

On the contrary, the white bedsheet under him was all dyed red with blood, which was shocking.
