Third person's POV
Orson let out a sigh, resignedly saying, "Alright. Alright. I'll send you the account number later, but you must think this through."
"I have thought it through. Orson, I truly appreciate all your help over the past year," Tabitha expressed her gratitude.
Without him, she would not have been able to reach this point, nor would she have been able to reunite with her daughter.
Compared to her previous life, which was hopeless and bleak, she had now gained surprises and happiness.
Orson was at a loss for words, not knowing how to explain everything to her, so he accepted her thanks. "You don't need to thank me. I haven't done anything particularly special. In any case, you must be careful in everything you do."
After hanging up the phone, Orson realized that his palm was already soaked with sweat.
Theodora hurriedly leaned over, her face full of concern as she asked, "How is it? Tabitha didn't suspect you, did she?"
"Seems not. Besides me, she can't think of anyone else who could help her," Orson replied.
Theodora sighed helplessly, a hint of guilt in her voice as she said, "We deceived Tabitha, and I really feel bad about it. If she finds out that we've also deceived her, she will be very upset. That damn Derek, how did he find out that Tabitha wasn't dead?"
"Thinking about it now still gives me the chills. This man's mind is too deep. To gain Tabitha's trust, he even held a funeral and knelt for a day and a night. It's hard to say whether it's lucky or unfortunate for Tabitha to be loved by such a crazy man."
"Love is a double-edged sword. If handled well, it's endless pampering; if out of control, it becomes a terrifying abyss. It's just that we don't have enough power to protect Tabitha and can only be led by others," Orson said with emotion.
He couldn't help but think of the phone call he received this morning and how shocked and surprised he was at the time.
They thought their plan was flawless and had deceived everyone, but it turned out that Derek was the real hunter hiding behind the scenes, controlling everything.
"But this time, he doesn't seem to have taken forceful measures. I hope he has really learned his lesson and changed his mind and won't treat Tabitha like he used to in the future," Orson sighed with hope.
"I hope so," Theodora said, and then he dialed the number, contacting Derek, and detailed Tabitha's desire to repay the money. Derek was quite polite to him and quickly gave him a bank account, sincerely saying thank you.
Theodora finally let out a sigh of relief, scratching her head.
She thoughtfully said, "No wonder we've been doing well over the past year, and my mother's business is booming, winning several major orders. At first, I thought it was just good luck, but now I think it's probably the result of Derek's help behind the scenes. He is probably expressing his gratitude to us in this way."
Orson also thought of the Romero family, who are still operating a company in Seattle, especially recently his father called him a few times, and every time on the phone, he was very excited and elated.
He knew that a person like Derek, if you could become friends with him, it would be very lucky; but if you were enemies with him, you might not even have the chance to cry.
They are now involuntarily subject to others, and can only silently pray in their hearts for Tabitha's well-being.
On an island in Seattle, Derek left Tabitha. On the one hand, to alleviate her emotions, and on the other hand, because many work matters urgently need him to handle. He has been swamped recently, overwhelmed and anxious.
Rolf took off the mask on his face, and his face was full of joy that was about to overflow.
He excitedly said, "I guess that man has seen the miserable condition of the Night Ship, and maybe he is thinking about selling it as scrap iron to get some money back now. I have destroyed everything that can be destroyed."
"The value of the ship is one thing, but this time, he offended those people on the ship, and he will inevitably be retaliated against. Moreover, in the short term, even if he brings another ship, customers will not buy it anymore, and this big business is completely ruined in his hands."
Rolf said with a smile, "It's only a few hundred million, in exchange for hundreds of billions of losses, it's worth it! The key is that I have long been unhappy with that stinky boy, who always opposes you, Alpha Derek. This time, it has really weakened his spirit, and let's see if he dares to be arrogant in the future."
Derek was not so optimistic.
He gazed into the distant, boundless blue ocean and said slowly, "Only dogs can be easily tamed. If we are facing a beast, then we will only face its more fierce counterattack."
