Inside the hospital room, Magus looked extremely worried while holding the hand of Lina, who was lying on the bed.
Thalia hesitated for a moment, then looked at him. “You can consider what I've said. If you agree, feel free to contact me anytime. I'll leave my number here.” With that, she placed a piece of paper with her number on the headboard.
Magus remained unmoved.
Thalia glanced at him, retracted her gaze, and turned to walk out. Only after hearing the door close did Magus's gaze shift to the note on the headboard, which had Thalia's phone number. His gaze on the note was exceptionally profound.
When Thalia returned to the car, Tony was on the phone with Nelly . “I got it. Two days, and if things don't work out, I'll go back!”
“Okay, enjoy your meal, Nelly !”
“All right, let's leave it at that for now!”
After exchanging a few words, Tony hung up the phone. Thalia looked at him. “How's it going over there?”
“Everything's great!” Tony replied. Thalia nodded.
Tony put away his phone and looked at Thalia. “What did Magus say?”
Thalia answered, “What else? He's on guard around people now, and it's not like you can get through him with just a sentence or two!”
Tony thought for a moment and said, “He will come around.”
Thalia looked at him. “You really don't understand Magus; he's quite stubborn!”
“The more stubborn a person is, the more likely they are to yield to emotions!” Tony said, turning his head to look at Thalia with an indescribable certainty in his eyes.
Thalia frowned and pondered those words carefully.
Tony added, “If it were me, I would grab any opportunity regardless of how dangerous it may be. An opportunity is an opportunity!”
“I hope so!” Thalia said.
“Don't worry. We just need to wait patiently for the phone call,” Tony comforted.
Meanwhile, back at the small town, Alpha Kilian and Nelly continued their journey. Alpha Kilian held her hand as they walked and explored the streets. The town was quaint and peaceful, with a few small businesses open. Passersby would occasionally glance at the couple, who appeared to be enjoying their time together.
Nelly looked around and asked, “Where are you taking me?”
Alpha Kilian smiled mysteriously, his eyes narrowing. “You'll find out once we get there.”
Curiosity piqued, Nelly followed him. They eventually arrived at a place that held significant meaning for Alpha Kilian. He explained that he and his friend, Dave, had faced danger and narrowly escaped death in this very town. Their lives were saved by a kind stranger, an elderly man who had since passed away.
Nelly was intrigued and asked Alpha Kilian if they were here to visit the old man's grave. He confirmed that they were.
As they walked through the town, Nelly couldn't help but notice the charm and beauty of the place. The streets were clean, and there was a sense of tranquility in the air. She held Alpha Kilian's hand as they explored, stopping occasionally to browse through the small shops.
The couple attracted attention as they walked hand in hand, appearing like a content and happy couple. Alpha Kilian's possessiveness towards Nelly became evident when she innocently praised their friend, Dave. He reminded her that he was the one she should be praising, not other men.
Nelly playfully defended herself, but it only strengthened Alpha Kilian's possessive nature. Their playful banter continued as they strolled through the town, enjoying each other's company.
Though their destination held a bittersweet memory for Alpha Kilian, being with Nelly and experiencing the town together brought a sense of joy and happiness to them both. As they walked hand in hand, they cherished the present moment, looking forward to whatever the future held for them.
Once they got on the car, Nelly's phone rang. Nelly picked up her phone and wanted to answer it. However, upon seeing the caller ID, her eyebrows instantly furrowed. Alpha Kilian fastened his seatbelt, ready to set off, but noticed Nelly staring at her phone without any reaction.
He furrowed his brow and asked, “What's wrong?” Nelly looked up, and her eyes met his. She said, “It's Boss...” Alpha Kilian paused for a moment, and his gaze shifted to her phone. The incoming call displayed Boss's number.
Upon seeing this, Alpha Kilian's eyes slightly narrowed. “Could it be that he knows we're fine?” Nelly asked. Alpha Kilian pursed his lips and did not speak. He was also pondering the matter at hand.
Nelly thought for a moment and was about to answer the call when suddenly, Alpha Kilian reached out and stopped her. “Let's talk about it later.” Alpha Kilian looked at her. Thus, Nelly watched the phone screen flicker until it automatically disconnected.
Nelly took her phone, just about to unlock it, when suddenly, a new message appeared on the screen. I am sorry. Upon seeing this message, Nelly's eyebrows furrowed. Nelly looked at Alpha Kilian and asked, “What does it mean?” Alpha Kilian took her phone and saw the three words on the screen. A sarcastic smile appeared at the corner of his mouth. “What else could it mean? He probably drank too much and is feeling guilty now.” Nelly narrowed her eyes.
Alpha Kilian looked at her and smiled. “It's fine and actually better that you don't understand.” He certainly had a lot less to worry about now.
After hearing Dave's sigh, Alpha Kilian's eyes slightly narrowed. “More than a decade... Why do I feel like you're implying that I'm old?” Upon hearing this, Dave looked at him and asked, “How old are you? Don't you have any idea?” Alpha Kilian's gaze unconsciously shifted toward Nelly, and then he looked at Dave and said seriously, “What are you talking about? I'm still young!” Dave couldn't possibly not know what the look in his eyes meant.
At that moment, Nelly looked at him with a smile. “Alpha Kilian, I'm only two years younger than you.” Alpha Kilian was slightly stunned. Only then did they recall the memories of growing up together since childhood. Nelly knew his age and everything about him like the back of her hand.
Even though Nelly knew that Alpha Kilian was joking, she couldn't help but laugh when she heard it. Recently, whenever she was with Alpha Kilian, her smile never faded.
However, Dave, who was listening nearby, couldn't help but roll his eyes at him. “Alpha Kilian, enough already!” Upon hearing that, Alpha Kilian looked at him and asked, “What's the matter? Am I wrong? Or do you have a different opinion?” Dave took a deep breath and said, “I just feel that when those words come out of your mouth, they sound particularly hypocritical!”
Nelly then stood up and headed to her room, leaving Alpha Kilian and Dave alone. Alpha Kilian poured himself a glass of wine and raised it, saying, “Here's to finding love and happiness.” Dave nodded.
The two clinked their glasses, and Alpha Kilian smiled. “I accept your blessings. I will be happy, and so should you.” With that, Alpha Kilian and Dave began to talk about their future plans.
Nelly, listening from her room, smiled to herself, feeling grateful for the two men in her life. They may bicker and tease each other, but at the end of the day, they were a family.
