A subtle smile appeared on Tony's lips as he heard Donna's words. Beside them, Ben chimed in, saying, "I also had my doubts about him from the beginning, and this just confirms it!" Thalia turned to them and asked, "You all thought the same?" Ben replied, "I didn't think too deeply about it, but something felt off." Thalia pondered for a moment and asked, "But how do we know for sure that he's working with Magus to scam money?"
Tony rhetorically replied, "We don't know for certain. That's why we're currently looking for evidence, right?" Thalia narrowed her eyes and questioned, "Are you suggesting it has something to do with his ex-girlfriend?" Tony explained, "If that's the case, then everything starts to make sense. Magus didn't expose those gangs in the past because he feared the leader's influence and what the leader might do to his girlfriend. And now, he's teamed up with this person to scam money, all for the sake of his girlfriend."
Miguel interjected, "But if they're working together to scam money, why would this person agree to help us investigate Magus?" Tony responded, "He must have been enticed by the promise of money. And my theory doesn't rule out the possibility of betrayal between them." Miguel drove the car, his face filled with complex emotions. He was amazed by Tony's deduction but also wondered how they could have such different thoughts with the same information. Meanwhile, Thalia gazed out the window, lost in her thoughts. She knew Tony was intelligent, but she had a different perspective on the situation.
Finally, she spoke up, saying, "I don't think Magus is that kind of person." Tony questioned, "Not that kind of person?" Thalia firmly replied, "He wouldn't collude with someone to scam money. The Magus I know is not like that!" Tony's smile faltered, but he refrained from saying anything. The car continued on its way until they arrived at a hospital. Miguel parked behind a taxi, and everyone got out.
Thalia and Tony decided to go together, while Miguel took Ben and Donna. Before leaving the car, Tony glanced at Thalia and said, "We should wait and see." Thalia nodded and said, "Let's just wait and see."
The group walked towards the hospital entrance, and Tony explained that they were there to visit Magus's ex-girlfriend. Thalia looked surprised but didn't say anything. Inside the hospital, their suspicions grew as they encountered a man who seemed guarded. Tony's smile returned as he silently observed the unfolding situation.
Thalia confronted the man with a knife, trying to intimidate him. The man protested, but Thalia stood her ground. Tony eventually intervened, asking Thalia to stop scaring the man. The tension eased, and the group continued towards the ward. As they got closer, the man showed signs of unease. Suddenly, he stopped and said he needed to go elsewhere.
Tony and Thalia exchanged glances, unsure of the man's intentions. But they let him go and proceeded towards the patient's room. Inside, they found a woman sitting on the bed. Tony glanced at Thalia, but before he could say anything, the woman greeted them with a smile.
Upon seeing him, the man immediately straightened his body.
After hesitating for a moment, he didn't even greet Thalia and turned around to walk out.
Fortunately, Thalia was quick-witted and fast. When she saw that he was about to leave, she
immediately stepped in front of him, blocking his way. “Where are you going?” Thalia asked with a playful smile.
The man looked at Thalia, stammering, “I-I need to go to the restroom!” “Isn't there one in the ward?” Thalia gestured to him and asked.
“I... I'm not used to it. It'll be better for me to use it outside!” The man wanted to leave. However, Thalia stood right in front of him, showing no intention of stepping aside.
The person looked on, almost dying of anxiety.
“Could I just not earn the money? I'll give them all to you later!” the man said.
Thalia remained calm and composed. “That won't do. I've told you, you have to finish this task!” “I-I...”
Just then, a figure suddenly appeared at the door of the ward.
Magus stood at the entrance. Upon seeing them inside, his eyebrows immediately furrowed. “Why are you guys doing here?”
Upon hearing the sound, Tony walked toward the door and looked at Magus. A well-intentioned smile appeared at the corner of his mouth as he replied, “Didn't I tell you before? I won't give up!”
Magus's eyes narrowed slightly as he turned his gaze directly at the man, his anger shifting toward him. The person's expression changed inexplicably, unsure of what to say.
“Come outside with me. I have something to talk to you,” Magus said as he looked straight at the person. After that, he turned around and walked off to one side.
glanced at Tony , who nodded back at him. Taking the hint, Thalia stepped aside from the man's path and said with a smile,
The man was speechless. flashed across his eyes.
