"Come on, don't you want to witness this firsthand? You'll find out soon enough!" Tony urged, taking the lead and guiding everyone towards a corner in the hospital. With narrowed eyes, Magus followed, while the frail man hesitated before stepping forward.
"What do you want me to explain?" Magus asked, his gaze fixed on the man.
"They found out about this place, and I had no choice but to bring them here," the man explained, his voice tinged with coldness. "They even suspect that we're working together to scam money. That kid may be young, but he's clever. And they didn't even listen to his explanation."
"You think they would kill you if you hadn't let them?" Magus questioned, his tone sharp.
The man hesitated before replying, "The woman was someone I used to know. They trust her more than me."
Tony approached them with a gentlemanly smile. "What do you think, Magus? Will you consider it?" he asked, fixing his patient gaze on Magus.
Magus glanced at him but remained silent.
The man on the ground chuckled softly. He knew Magus wouldn't leave with them, regardless of their business collaboration.
"You won't go with him, right? Your source of wealth will remain intact," Tony stated, surprising the man with his straightforwardness.
The man directed his gaze at Tony. "Even if our collaboration ends, he won't go with you. Do you think money can buy everything?"
Tony maintained his composed demeanor. "Money may not solve everything, but it can solve most of it. I can provide financial support and find the best doctors for her treatment. Don't underestimate what I can offer."
Magus was about to refuse, but the temptation of Tony's proposition flickered in his eyes.
The man's gaze shifted to Magus. He knew that Magus's weakness was the woman's illness. They had stayed partners because he needed money urgently for her treatment. Without that, he wouldn't have been able to reach Magus.
"You're still looking for a team to assist you, aren't you?" Magus asked, his voice filled with surprise.
Tony replied, "In the end, it's about finding a group willing to work towards achieving my goals. Isn't it similar to people working in a corporate setting?"
Magus was taken aback by Tony's perspective.
Meanwhile, the woman ignored Magus's concern and pleaded desperately with Thalia. Thalia detested such manipulation but decided to help.
"I have no intention of hurting him. Let's talk after you get up," Thalia assured the woman.
Surprised yet relieved, the woman looked toward Magus for confirmation. Magus nodded, confirming Thalia's words.
As the woman attempted to rise, she suddenly stiffened, struggling for breath. Panicked, Magus reached out to support her, urging her to seek medical assistance.
Tony took advantage of the situation. "You see? With his woman in such a state, he won't leave with you. It's better for you to give up."
The man smirked, understanding that his partnership with Magus was secured as long as the woman's health remained uncertain.
Tony turned his gaze towards Thalia, questioning her intentions. "Now that you've acquired a substantial amount of money, do you expect to walk away freely?"
Thalia raised an eyebrow and warned about the hospital's surveillance cameras. She proposed a test to see if she could escape, insinuating that she would eliminate him if necessary.
The man looked haggard, pleadingly gazing at Thalia. He finally relented and agreed to let go of the money, hoping for his life to be spared.
In the end, Magus realized that nothing was more important to him than the woman's well-being.
