Mike couldn't help but be intimidated by Nelly 's aura.
She appeared laid back and calm, but in crucial situations, she always caught people off guard and impressed them.
Mike narrowed his eyes. As if influenced by Nelly , he turned around and looked behind him. “That's right. Since they insist on coming, we will make sure they won't be able to return!”
He held his gun and prepared for the incoming attack.
They were going to kill everyone who came out of the forest. Nelly looked into the distance, vigilant and on guard.
Right then, there was movement in the forest again.
Mike was about to start shooting when Nelly said, “Save your bullets. Let's wait until they come out of the forest.”
Upon hearing that, Mike nodded.
And so, they continued staring at the trees.
The noise in the forest grew louder, causing Mike to grip his gun tightly as he waited for the opportunity to start shooting.
The sky gradually lit up, and their vision became clearer. Mike's gaze was fixed on the forest, as he still didn't know the number of incoming enemies or their weapons.
However, he was ready to fight them till the end, no matter what.
At that moment, his sharp eyes immediately caught movement in the forest as a figure emerged. He quickly aimed his gun at the person.
Suddenly, the person shouted, “If you fire again, don't blame me for not showing mercy!” Mike was momentarily stunned upon hearing the voice.
Why does it sound so familiar?
He stared into the distance, but he couldn't see the person's face clearly. However, he recognized the person's gait.
“Luke?” he muttered to himself. “What's wrong?” Nelly asked.
“It seems like Luke...” Mike replied.
Upon hearing that, Nelly glanced at the person. “Luke, is that you?” Mike yelled.
“Mike?” the other person shouted back.
Mike was ecstatic. He glanced at Nelly and exclaimed, “It's Luke! It's really him!” Nelly was still unsure since they didn't know whether Luke was with Dave. “Nelly , I'll go take a look!” Mike stated.
Nelly nodded, and Mike quickly ran toward the forest.
Even though the sky was getting brighter, it was still dawn, and the light wasn't strong enough for Nelly to see the facial features of the opposite party.
Mike ran over, and a moment later, the two figures hugged. Upon seeing this, Nelly was relieved.
Nelly glanced at Alpha Kilian and patted his back. Just as she was about to say something, she realized her hands were covered in crimson blood.
Stunned, she reached out to touch his back again and noticed that his clothes were drenched in blood. “Alpha Kilian , Alpha Kilian !” Nelly cried.
Nelly rushed to support Alpha Kilian when he suddenly slumped down. “Wake up, Alpha Kilian ...”
However, Alpha Kilian 's head remained lowered. He was unresponsive, and his face was also as pale as a sheet.
“Alpha Kilian , hold on!” Nelly tried to place him on the ground. Just then, Mike came running back. “Alpha Kilian , Nelly , guess who's here!”
His voice was full of delight. Nelly froze momentarily when she looked up and saw Dave and Spencer walking over.
Dave and Spencer smiled at her.
“You guys—” Nelly was about to say something when Alpha Kilian 's body slid down and fell to the ground.
“Alpha Kilian !”
Dave and Mike immediately approached.
Although Alpha Kilian was covered in dirt, the blood on his back was still a ghastly sight. “What happened?” Dave questioned.
“He must have gotten injured during the explosion just now,” Nelly replied.
Upon seeing this, Spencer walked over with a serious expression. “Let me take a look.”
After a thorough examination, he said, “His internal organs are fine, but he got too agitated and lost too much blood. We should talk more after we return first.”
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Just as Spencer was going to load Alpha Kilian on his back, the latter suddenly opened his dark, bright eyes. “Alpha Kilian ,” Dave called out.
Alpha Kilian grabbed onto his hand tightly and uttered, “Dave...”
“It's me.” Dave smiled at him. No one could understand Alpha Kilian 's feelings better than him at the moment.
Alpha Kilian 's lips twitched, and emotions flashed across his reddened eyes. He wanted to say something but felt himself getting choked up.
“I know what you want to say. I'm fine. It's okay,” Dave uttered.
After staring at Dave for a long time, Alpha Kilian could finally confirm that he wasn't dreaming. It's not an illusion. It's real.
