The car windows were all rolled up and the temperature was just right. Angela tried to see the city through the tinted window. Zora seized the opportunity and quickly sent a message to Bryce informing him that they were on their way.
"Hmmm," Angela made a sound drawing Zora's attention to her. "I thought were driving through town. What is the purpose of driving through town if all the windows are rolled up and you can't view the city?" she questioned meeting the gaze of Zora.
"The air outside is terrible and I don't want you breathing that in. Plus, the window is not too bad to look through," Zora said smiling.
"Zora, where exactly are we going?" Angela asked, frowning, feeling that Zora was taking her somewhere.
"What makes you think, I am taking you somewhere?" Zora asked with an awkward smile.
"Your awkwardness says it all," Angela said. "So tell me, where are we going?" she asked again.
"Okay, you caught me. I would confess. I miss the club," Zora said.
"Zora?" Angela called out her name.
"Yes," Zora responded looking very attentive.
"I hate the clubs. The last time you took me there, I ended up with a strange man, which led to this mess we find ourselves in right now," Angela pointed out.
"No, it wasn't your visit to the club that caused that. You were not careful enough," Zora said and Angela frowned.
"Fine, blame it on me. It was my fault that someone drugged me and I ended up sleeping with a stranger. He married me and turned my world upside down," Angela half yelled.
"Calm down. I was just joking," Zora said, seeing how angry Angela was. "Eish, it's true about what they say. Pregnant women have terrible mood swings," she thought, recalling that Angela was never the type to get mad at her, regardless of what she said or did.
"Look," Zora began and the car stopped.
"So we reached our destination, the club, right?" Angela said throwing her hands in the air.
"Yes, we are in the club," Zora said, "But I brought you here for a reason. This is the place where everything started. It might as well be the place to correct things or end them," she said looking very serious.
"We are here to do an investigation?" Angela asked, recalling up to date she didn't know who drugged her and why.
"More like fix things. Repair what is broken," Zora said solemnly and Angela just stared at her wondering what she meant by repairing what is broken.
"What is there to repair that can only be done by visiting the club?" Angela thought and the door to the back seat of the car opened.
"Let's go make things right," Zora said, got out of the car and offered Angela her hand after giving her a mask to put on.
Angela stared at the mask Zora was holding out to her, together with the hand she had offered her for a while before accepting them. She put on the mask and took Zora's hand. She got out of the car and the two ladies walked towards the entrance of the club.
"I am Zora and she is with me," Zora said to the man at the door and he allowed them in.
"Hmmm, last time, you had to bribe your way in," Angela leaned towards Zora and whispered into her ears because of the loud music. "Do you now own this place that your name granted you entrance?" she asked and Zora smiled.
Zora held Angela's hand as they walked through the crowd of people dancing and soon used the staircase to go upstairs.
"Are we going to where I think we are going?" Angela leaned in and whispered into Zora's ears recalling the last time they were there; they had walked into a VIP section.
"We are going to repair a broken wall, so yes," Zora replied, whispering in Angela's ears.
They soon entered the VIP side and Zora took Angela through the back exit and they both ended up in the hallway.
Angela scanned the place which looked familiar to her. She had passed out in this hallway after getting attacked by two men the first time she had visited the place.
"Zora, what is going on?" Angela asked looking confused.
"Hello Angela," came Bryce's voice before Zora could reply.
The two ladies turned their heads in the direction of the familiar voice and standing there with both hands shoved into his pocket was Bryce.
"Zora, is this what you mean by repairing a broken wall?" Angela asked annoyed Zora convinced her to leave the Davis family just to bring her to Bryce.
"Angela listen to me," Zora began.
"Have you forgotten everything I told you about what this man did to me?" Angela questioned, pushing Zora away, putting some space between them, she removed the mask from her face and tossed it to the floor.
"Angela, the only person who can hurt you is the one who loves you and you love them back. People do things to hurt you all the time but you are never bothered by them. You feel hurt because Angela, you love him the same way he loves you. He felt betrayed by you, the same way you felt betrayed by him. Someone played you both just to separate you. Are you going to satisfy that person?" Zora questioned and Angela wanted to speak but Zora spoke again.
"He has learnt his lesson and wants to make it up to you. Have you learnt yours? Or are you still doing the bidding of the one who wants to take everything away from you?" Zora asked staring at Angela.
"Zora, the day I signed the divorce papers was the day I stopped caring and withdrew my love for Bryce. I am no longer his wife. He means nothing to me," Angela said and Bryce just stood there staring at Angela.
"And what about the child? Do you want to want to raise this child alone without a father?" Zora asked.
"Zora, last I check, he called this child a bastard. How can he father a bastard child?" Angela said with red eyes.
There was a pain evident in her voice and her eyes showed she was holding back her tears.
"Angela, I know I have wronged you greatly. I want to make amends. I love you and I want you back in my life," Bryce confessed.
"Just like that, you want me back?" Angela barked at Bryce. "I am sorry to say, it's too late," she added.
"Angela, tell me you don't love me any more and you don't care. I will walk away and you will never have to see me again," Bryce said and Angela turned to look at him with a frown.
"Say it, Angela," Bryce beckoned.
"I don't love you and I don't care," Angela said and Bryce just nodded.
He bowed his head and his hand went to his chest. Zora and Angela watched him as he turned to walk away slightly bent over. They both watched him walking away and the moment he made a turn at the end of the wall to his right, they both heard a thud sound.
Angela moved, hurrying her steps in that direction without a second thought. Zora followed her shaking her head in disbelief.
"I thought she said, she didn't love him and didn't care about him," Zora thought as she hurried her steps behind Angela.
"Bryce, don't do this to me. Wake up, please. Wake up, I said you jerk," Angela cried, kneeling next to Bryce's body which appeared to be motionless.
With her hands resting on his chest, Angela shook Bryce's body and occasionally placed her head on his chest to listen for a heartbeat as she cried her heart out.
Zora got to the scene and stood there wondering what was wrong with Bryce. She pulled her phone out and dialled 911 while Angela continued to cry over Bryce's motionless body begging him to wake up.
At the same time, outside, the guard George sent after Angela and Zora had just parked across the street and was watching everything from there. He dialled George's number.
"They came to a club?" he reported.
