Maya's POV
The salty wind had picked up and whipped against my cheeks.
But I loved it. It made me feel so free and light.
I cast a glance over at Arcane, bickering with one of Tew's older guards. Despite the insulting name-calling here and there, their smile was never far away.
My eyes glided back towards the open ocean and took in the descending sun, bathing its warm sun rays in the cold water. It's been a couple of days since I saw him shift since I saw his massive beast. We talked some more after, of course, because his shifting didn't tell me what he clearly expected. Yes, I saw he was a bear, not a wolf like the others I've seen so far, but I didn't see what made him so different. I've heard there are werebears, cats, and even Lion shifters on this planet, so I thought his animal would be pretty standard.
It didn't really matter, I learned something new, and I've almost forgiven both him and his teddy for knocking me over and for pushing his snout so far up between my legs that my ass scootched over the wooden floors. I have almost forgiven him. I stiffened a smile.
Arcane's face had been so flustered after he shifted back, claiming his beast had a mind of his own. That he was so sorry, that he usually doesn't act like this. I am, of course, not angry with him, but there is a sadistic joy in seeing him think I am. No, I'm not stringing him along or torturing him; I'm just having a little fun reminding him what he did. However, we also had a good talk. Not only did he validate my feelings and my fear, but to some point, he understood, experiencing something similar when he grew up. We were far from the same and did not have the same upbringing. But we had a similar emotionally deprived childhood, lack of attention and care. Hurt, ridiculed and stabbed in the back of the people supposed to care for us. So, we found common ground in misery and hatred for pity. A smile tugged on my lips again. Yes. He is as petty as me, as broken as me, as scared and robust as me.
It made me like him even more.
Even if I love the ocean, even if I could relish in this sensation every day, I also looked forward to setting both feet on dry land. Calm and dry land. The smooth swaying from one side to the other as waves washed past the ship felt soothing. Even the raging and uncontrolled waves, throwing themselves at the boat, gave me a feeling of belonging. But day after day, with this, seasickness seemed to think I was a good friend to hang out with. It was almost unfair. All I wanted to do was watch the calm waves, especially when moonlight bathed in the dark merciless waters. Or when the sky is clear, and the beaming sun rays dance playfully with the clear and shimmering waves. But when I did, my stomach threatened to turn inside out.
I haven't vomited, but that lurking feeling that keeps you waiting. Knowing it will eventually happen, but it doesn't. Instead, I almost feel cheated; I've waited to get it over with for days now-
A couple of days. Only a couple of days and we would sail right up to Tew's pack, the pack where Eir once was born. I wondered what it looked like and how the people were there compared to the Vikings and rogue packs. Then I wondered where she was, if she was safe, and if someone made sure she ate something-reminded her to sleep and breathe.
I chuckled to myself when I realized I thought of her as a mother would think of her little child.
I knew Eir could take care of herself to some extent. But she was terrible at really taking care of herself. She was intelligent, practical, pretty fearless, and strong. But she acted like a toddler, being offered raw vegetables as snacks every time I asked her about eating and drinking water like these ones everyday things were hard for her to remember. It is hard to remember that these were all necessary to stay alive.
My mood quickly faltered, and I understood why. Because for her, food and water had never been an everyday necessity growing up, she knew how long she could go without, knew when she would struggle with it, and knew when hunger could be a problem. Both Tew and Arcane had scolded me after I read through the files, and on some level, I accepted it. It didn't feel right poking through her life like this without even asking her. Seeing her darkest secrets, revealing the scars she hid inside of her. But it also helped me then and there; I was in desperate need of passing time on this ship and in desperate need of finding her. This made me feel closer to her, helped me understand her, and I passed some time because her field was massive. I have no doubt the word count could easily compare to the lord of the Rings books or Harry Potter. Darker, and with no apparent good ending or magic of pour, but anyway.
"I think I should reconsider the need to tie you up."
I smiled and leaned back against his chest with closed eyes. I let his deep voice pour into my ears, and the vibration from his chest danced over my back while his arms slid around my waist. He didn't like me hanging over the railing of the ship, so lost in the waves and water, and claimed that the water would eventually miss me or the mermaids would claim me as their own. So, he started jokingly saying he had to tie me to the ship, and then the joke slowly turned more serious, and I had to get really mad to make him let that stupid idea go. I'm not a child, and I'm not helpless or mindless. Of course, I won't fall into the water just like that or jump the railing when a storm is brewing.
"And I think I might reconsider the need to spank you."
I smiled back, filled with confidence, as I bit the bubbling anticipation back. Because I knew the reaction would come, I waited for it as much as I wanted it, and I struggled to convince myself I should know better than to irk him on purpose. A deep growl started in his stomach and rumbled in his chest before forcing up his throat.
His arms tightened around me and pressed me back, and his nose bore down in the nape of my neck. I squealed, pleading for mercy, and swore by the moon goddess I was playing with him. All while I laughed, his teeth slowly turned to canines and scraped against my skin. Pressed against my neck and throat like a warning, but I loved the warning. Could feel my entire body tremble in need of his so-called warnings, his gentle bites, his firm grip, and that alluring sound.
"I surrender!"
I laughed as I continued,
"I am too weak to fight your love-call!"
"How many times must I tell you? They are not love calls! They are growls and roars! Most people would consider that a threat or a warning at the beast!"
He muttered against my dampened skin as he moved his way up behind my ear.
"And how many times must I remind you, I am already yours. No need to flirt and flatter me with such words."
"Flirting? You are playing dangerous games again little human."
"Oh, are you telling me I am poking the bear?"
I giggled like a schoolgirl as he pretended to maul my neck, growling and snarling over my skin.
With one hand firm around my waist his other hand started to roam, sliding his palm down my tight and up again and around grabbing my ass.
"Watch it, i might have to spank you for plucking the bear."
I laughed but could not hid the fact that my breathing was already heavier, and my heart rate had spiked up.
"Poke the bear Arcane, not. Never mind!"
I pushed my ass back and gave it a little slow shake up and down.
"Oh, I think the bear is poking me! Does that mean i can spank you now?"
I stated with and arched brow, innocently pretending to be innocent just to tease him even more. I loved these games; he was so easy to teas and rile up.
A deeper, louder growl pushed up his throat, causing my heart to jump a beat, almost making me jump right up. My pulse increased as his sharp claws started cutting through the fabric on my waist. I gasped when his hand slid up my throat, and held a tight grip right beneath my chin, forcing my head up while pushing me forward. I grabbed the ships railing, I didn't freeze up. I didn't get scared, but a new strange sensation tickled inside of me as I felt the change within him. He moved faster, his grip got harder, and that deep growling almost grunting sound kept dancing over my skin, seeping through it and finding its way to my core.
My eyes widened, and a shocked cry died in my throat as his heavy hand pressed over my mouth. His other hand yanked my butt back, slid down over my stomach and hips, pushing my ass up and grinding me against himself. Swallowing hard, a smoldering warmth began to spread in my stomach; like a heavy mass, it moved down. Anticipation spread like firecrackers inside of me as he grinded his pressing bulge up between my thighs.
Like on instinct, I tried to turn around at the sound of my clothes ripping, But my head was locked in his hold. Still, his hand pressed hard over my mouth, pressing down yet a sound of pure surplice. My heart raged inside my chest, pumping up my already adrenaline-filled body.
"Shush, little human. Shush."
His hoarse whisper felt raspy against my flustered skin.
Deep and demanding, he whispered slowly in my ear when something warm pressed up against my feet. I can't explain my reaction, but I started fighting his grip, wiggling something that only caused him to tighten his grip even more-slowly sniffing up my neck and up behind my ear, ending in my hair. I wanted him, wanted him bad, but still, I kept fighting him, whimpering and moaning behind his hand.
My thighs started shaking as his member twitched, and he grinded his hips against me, hoisted me up, and slowly lowered me on his cock. Rougher and more demanding than I've ever experienced him, he started to fuck me deep and slowly. Letting my juices coate him, deeper and more demanding. His grip on my hips and over my mouth pressed and guided me, bouncing me back and forth. Sliding his cock out of my pulsating and swollen sex.
He filled me to the brim; even his cock felt different. Bigger, harder, almost too much to take. He gave me just enough time to feel the tension slowly and let me go, my muscles relaxing, accommodating his size, before he bent me forward over the railing. Leaned over my back, forcing me down with his weight while his cock slammed me mercilessly.
"You are different."
His voice rumbled in my head, sneaking under my moans and cries.
