Lexa's cold heart bursted, and she pouted her lips. She didn't expect Arnold was going to say all that, and it made her chest swell. She had longed and craved to hear those kinds of words from anybody until today. The girl never thought she was going to hear all that from a man she barely knew, but it actually touched her heart.
Lexa didn't know if those words were true as she had been through a lot but what she now knew was, she need to stop hurting herself emotionally through her thoughts as Arnold said. It was simply not fair for her, and she realized that.
The girl looked at Arnold and a smile tugged on her face. It was one of her rare and sweetest smile, showing how grateful she was to Arnold. Though, Lexa sometimes find the Prince annoying but actually, he wasn't a bad person. Infact, he didn't depict the kind of arrogant prince she thought. He was way different, which made her happy.
Lexa didn't say anything though, but her expression said it all and soon she hung her head low, cause she couldn't face Arnold now.
Arnold's lips curled up at Lexa's expression, and he made a throaty chuckle, but he was satisfied with her expression.
" Let me feed you more, it looks like you aren't satisfied yet," he grinned and scooped some soup with the spoon.
Lexa's ears reddened at his words, but she nodded and opened her mouth slightly.
Arnold leaned closer to Lexa but as he was about to feed her, he noticed something and frowned. Then, he stopped his action midway and eyed her up and down.
Lexa perceived Arnold's looks and she narrowed her eyes, wondering what was going on. She wanted to say something, but she heard Arnold's voice first.
" You are skinny," she heard him say with dissatisfaction, a frown still on his face.
" I....."
Lexa didn't know how to reply to that, and she stuttered, while she bit her low lip again.
Arnold understood the reason why, so he gestured for her to not say anything, and he continued to feed her. But his mind was already thinking of something else to do in order to help her.
" From today on, I will make sure you don't skip any meals."
" Huh?"
Lexa was surprised and wondered if Belle would be pleased with that. She was an arrogant brat who wouldn't let anyone close to her mate. Though, Lexa was trilled inwardly to hear that, but she was worried about what people might think.
" You heard me clearly right?" Arnold arched his brows and looked down at the bowl of soup. He saw that it was now empty, and but he didn't say anything.
The prince just stood up and packed the dishes to one side, then he took out a tissue and wiped the corner of Lexa's mouth.
Lexa just stared dumbfounded at Arnold. His actions and words surprised her, and she was rendered shorts of words.
Is this luck or what?
How could a whole prince act like this towards me?
She thought and shook her head. This was simply unbelievable!
Arnold saw her stunned face, but he only smirked and grinned.
He could already guessed what she was thinking, but he wouldn't burst her bubbles.
Little seconds later, he was done with wiping her mouth corner, and he went into the washroom to rinse his hands.
After he was gone, Lexa changed her expression into a happy one, and she smiled. Her eyes curving in delight. It meant alot to see someone was acting kind to her, as it was something she hardly get. Arnold's words and actions made her feel better, and she appreciated it.
Lexa now made up her mind to not treat Arnold coldly or rudely anymore.
He deserved a better attitude from her.
The bed Lexa was laying on which was Arnold's bed, was very comfy and strong. In no time, Lexa dozed off and curled herself gently on the smooth bed. Though, it was still daytime but it didn't mean anything to her.
The medicine soup she took was now working and she didn't bother to fight the exhaustion overtaking her.
Arnold came back from the washroom and saw Lexa was already fast asleep. He sighed but smiled and went over to adjust the sleeping girl properly.
Then, he took a seat on the couch available in his room and decided to focus on something else.
*********
It was now dusk and the sun was beginning to set, going down the horizon, which resulted into a view of its red golden color. The forest begun to get dark, with the cold breeze now blowing more.
Belle was standing at the balcony of her room, sipping a strong wine which was made only for the werewolves, but her expression wasn't a happy one.
She hadn't heard anything from Arnold, and it was hurting her. The young Princess tried not to accommodate different thoughts and just focused on the positive side. She had already loved Arnold and luckily, he was her mate so definitely, there was no way he would tried to betray her.
She knew Arnold couldn't survive the consequences of betraying a mate and apart from that, it might even pose a threat to him being an heir.
Thinking about that, she was relieved, and it made her feel more secure. Arnold belonged to only her and nobody else.
"Ah, what a great thing to know that! That would be my ace card," she muttered and grinned slightly.
Belle just couldn't wait to clock eighteen and have Arnold all to herself.
It was at this time, Belle's personal maid came into Belle's room and saw the latter at the balcony.
" My princess, you are here." Belle's personal maid, Fina, smiled and ambled forward to where Belle was standing.
" No, am not."
Belle rolled her eyes and responded sarcastically to Fina's words.
Fina got what Belle was saying, and she quickly bowed her head immediately, " Am sorry Princess Belle."
Belle didn't look at her and only nodded, " Why are you here?"
" I wanted to tell you that dinner is served," Fina answered politely but didn't meet Belle's eyes.
" Okay then, I will be at the dinning room soon," Belle said and waved off Fina.
Once, Fina was out of the room, she left the balcony and strolled out her room.
As she elegantly walked towards the dinning room, every servants quickly scurried away from the way as they didn't want to provoke the princess. She was feared by them, but she loved that, and it made her feel somewhat powerful.
