Lexa sighed, she wouldn't deny knowing the reason why Anatalia was mad, but she didn't know how to explain herself. She moved away from the door and let Anatalia in. Then, she closed the door and went back to bed.
Anatalia's arms were still crossed over her chest, and she refused to sit down. She took a deep breath and faced Lexa, " Now start to tell me all what I need to know!"
Lexa stared at her and raised her brows upward, " Like?"
" Stop playing dump Lexa, I hate that! Don't you know you offend me? First, you kept your bad health from me, and now Prince Arnold is acting all nice to you. What's going on?
Tell me now!"
Anatalia's voice was low as she didn't want to attract any attention, but one could sense her anger from it.
She just wanted answers!
Lexa pressed her lips together and sat up straighter on the bed. Both females were now staring at each other.
" Anatalia, can you calm down first?"
Anatalia scoffed and shook her head, " No, I won't! Not untill, you answer me."
Lexa rolled her eyes, " Fine then. Am sorry for all that, but I didn't mean to." She apologized and sighed,
" About me being ill and not telling you, it wasn't intentional. It just that, am not used to people caring for me or giving me their attention. I have learned to take care of myself, and I believe I can handle myself so that's the reason why.
I find it hard to tell people what am going through. You should understand that feeling Ana....."
Her last words came out as a whisper, and she hung her head low. She was being truthful, but the truth was hurting her.
Anatalia could understand how Lexa was feeling and immediately her anger died down, but she was still wearing a mad expression. Mainly because, she wanted to hear every explanation from Lexa. She didn't say anything and silently waited for Lexa to continue her explanation.
Lexa sucked in a deep breath and lifted up her face, but there was no sign of sadness on her face.
" About Prince Arnold, I don't know why he is treating me nicely and I tried to ask him why, but what he only told me was I deserve it. That's all."
She didn't know why Anatalia wanted to know all these, but she felt Anatalia was being over protective.
Anatalia finally dropped her facade after she heard all of Lexa's explanation. But she frowned at Lexa's last words.
How could the prince say that?
She was beginning to get suspicious, but she kept it to herself. This was not the time to let that out.
She faced Lexa and shook her head, " I understand how you feel, but you should know things are different now. You are not where you are before, you are in another different place. You should treat this place like your home and drop all those negative feelings. I care about you, and it hurts me to see you aren't feeling too good."
Lexa was touched, and her chest rose high. She moved closer to Anatalia and pulled her into a warm embrace, " But am fine now, there is nothing to worry about."
Anatalia patted her back as they embraced each other and after some seconds, they pulled apart.
" Don't do that again okay?"
" Yes, I won't."
Lexa grinned and nodded.
" Now, the real issue is about Prince Arnold, you have to be careful Lexa. I don't think he is being nice for nothing. I mean why will a whole Prince with immense power act nice to an ordinary slave, when he already has a mate to top it all. It just doesn't make sense."
Anatalia grabbed Lexa's shoulders and voiced out her thoughts with a solemn face. After she was done, she pinched the lines between her brows and seemed to be thinking.
The words Anatalia said just now didn't go well with Lexa, especially the slave part, and she frowned. It was true she was a slave here, but that doesn't mean she would be a slave forever.
Lexa hated that inferior feeling, and she clenched her palms subtly but didn't say anything. She was annoyed but didn't let it show.
" Just be careful with him and don't trust him," Anatalia stood up and smiled at her.
The female servant had no idea her words hurt Lexa, and she didn't Lexa's darkened gaze.
Because of how Anatalia had treated her, Lexa decided to let it slide and calmed down her boiling feeling. She would let it go for now but next time, she might not take it.
" Alright, I will."
Well, Anatalia's advise was sort of true, and it seems weird, but Lexa didn't think Arnold has an hidden agenda for being nice.
A loud knock interrupted the two of them, and they both had their heads turned towards the door.
Lexa knitted her sword shaped brows and wondered who might be at her door. She stood up from her bed and proceeded to open the door.
When the door was opened, Lexa frowned at the person that was in front of her. She stared dully at the person and raised her brows, expecting the person to say something.
" Princess Belle requested to see you Lexa," Belle's personal maid, Fina, was the one in front of Lexa. She hated how she was talking to Lexa, cause she believed a slave was nothing.
" Am just recovering from my illness," Lexa twisted her lips and gave Fina a disgusting look. She clearly understand the look Fina was giving her, but she wasn't a novice in this kind of game.
Fina pointed at Lexa with her right index finger and pulled her brows together, " You!!! How dare you defy the Princess' order?!"
Lexa pouted and changed her face into an innocent expression, blinking her eyes for a few times, " Did I? I was only trying to explain myself of course."
Then, Anatalia appeared from Lexa's back and silently watched what was going on.
" You are lying! I will let the Princess know of what you said earlier. You are such a useless slave!"
Fina stomped her feet and huffed, glaring at Lexa, but the latter didn't care.
Instead, she stuck out her tongue.
Anatalia tapped Lexa's back and smiled at Fina, while she frowned at Lexa. She was displeased with the way Lexa acted towards Belle's personal maid.
" Lexa, don't you know what you are doing might lead you into a big trouble? It is very wrong to defy the Princess' order, no matter what. I think you should meet with the Princess and know the reason why she is calling you," Anatalia commented calmly, and she could see how Lexa's face darkened again immediately.
