Silhouette
"Sister, is my recovery more effective when I lose my hair?"
I bit his lower lip as the razor continued to run over his head.
I smiled bitterly. "Yeah, so you should be nice, huh?"
He nodded quickly and thumbs up. "I'm kind, sister! Whatever the doctor asks me to do, I'll do it, because I'm a good boy!"
I looked away when I felt a tear on my cheek.
I quickly wiped the tear from my cheek before stroking his bald head.
"Oh, there you go, you're bald," I said laughing and facing him in the mirror.
He smiled broadly before stroking his head. "I'm still handsome, sister!"
I mocked him. "You're really handsome, you're a pet goddess, eh."
He got up from his seat and hugged me on the waist, I quickly sat down so he could be level.
"When I'm healed, sister, I promise, I'll give you lots of medals!" smiling he promised.
I clenched my fist. "I don't need that, Pow. Just get well, I'm fine there."
"Don't be sad, sister, my strength is so strong," he said, frowning.
I didn't say a word, I caressed his cheek before finally releasing the sob on his lips. I immediately bowed my head because I didn't want him to see me fainting.
"My sister will do everything to get you well, huh?" sobbing I promise.
Gone is the smile on her lips, I saw the passing of sadness and pain in her eyes.
She wiped away my tears with tears.
"Sister, don't cry anymore, you're stupid. You thought you were the one who was sick, sister, it's just me." Laughing, I hugged him when he said that.
I admire this little kid for being strong and for being too positive, I can't even.
"You'll be hurt by the therapy that will be done to you, I don't have to lie anymore. But I want you to prepare yourself, okay? I'm always by your side, so you don't have to worry," I explained with a smile.
"I can handle that, sister, it's just basic therapies that will be done to me," he boasted.
"You're really crazy, you might run out of the Hospital when you see the needle," I teased him.
He was about to recover from my teasing when the door suddenly opened. We immediately turned to Caspeia with sad eyes.
"Silhouette? Pow Pow needs to be there," it said sadly.
I nodded. "Thanks, we're next."
I turned to the boy in front of me as Caspeia left.
"Pow? Come on, my sister is just next to you," I said smiling.
He just nodded at me before taking action. We left his room and went straight to where Pow Pow's doctor was.
I could feel how Pow Pow tightened his grip on me when he saw the doctor and some nurses in the room we entered.
"He'll be fine, Miss. Montevero, don't worry," a smiling nurse said as I lowered Pow Pow into the wheelchair.
"You'll j-just inject some drugs on him, right? That's the first step or cycle, right?" I asked, stunned.
The doctor smiled at me. "It might hurt him because he's still a kid. But he'll get used to this soon, I guess, it will take him 6 months before the full recovery."
I wiped my face and turned to look at Pow Pow, the nurses currently comforting him.
"6 months? The side effects you've told me back then are worse than I expected, doc. He can't handle it," I said weakly.
It tapped me on the shoulder. "I'll do everything I can to help him, please trust him, and trust me."
I could have done nothing but nod. I saw that they were already preparing for the injection of Pow Pow. I'm sure he's gonna cry, oh God, I don't want to see him cry.
"Ate?" I turned to Pow Pow.
I quickly approached in his direction. "Why? I'm here."
He reached for my hand. "Sister, can you just leave me here inside? I know I'm going to get hurt, and I don't want you to see that, please sister?"
I blinked a few times. "Pow Pow, you need me--"
"I'll be hurt even more when I see you hurt, sister. I can handle this." He smiled at me as if he was too strong.
Well, he is.
I don't want to stress the child because of me. I kissed his forehead before being forced out.
I closed the door but leaned against the wall next to it.
"He said he never wanted to see me in pain, so he let me out," I stammered when my group mates turned their eyes to me.
Flame approached me to rub my back.
"Silhouette," he pitifully promised.
I firmly bit my lower lip. "But I can still hear them. He thought I wouldn't be able to hear them."
I couldn't help but sob while listening to what was going on inside.
I clenched my fists tightly when I heard Pow Pow shout.
It screams in pain. It was as if I was being stabbed repeatedly as I heard her scream perhaps with a needle sticking out of her skin.
It will stop soon.
He's gonna be fine after this, Silhouette.
I felt two arms wrap around my body to hug me tightly.
From the smell and just how comfortable I was, I knew immediately who it was.
I pressed my face to his chest as I forced myself to calm down.
Third, caressing my back like he's trying to calm me, and I admit that his hug helps me.
"Hush now, baby. It's almost done, okay? It's almost done."
When I heard the door open, I quickly walked away from Third and ran the room inward.
I approached Pow Pow who was leaning back in the wheelchair.
He suddenly came to life when he saw me. I don't know why he chose to smile rather than cry at me.
"Ate! Oh, you see? It doesn't hurt! I didn't even cry!" he was proud.
I bit my lip in annoyance. This kid, he's stronger than me. And I admire him for that.
