I like Scar. I really do.
Not just because he seems to always be willing to protect me or because he stands up for me. It was much more than that. Much, much more.
It was a feeling left undefined likely to be called a feeling of oneness, of peace whenever I was with him. Which was coupled with an intense desire one I haven't felt nor experience all my life. It was strange just like him. A strange man giving me strange feelings.
My rational mind kept screaming at me, reminding that I barely even know the man but the good thing about it which was likely to be a bad thing about it was that it felt as if I had known him my whole life. Thus, I was acting based on instinct not on logic and it was bad.
Even if it felt like he was the missing piece to my puzzle. I still had to know him fully in himself.
I knew this yet I couldn't stop myself from accepting his company. It was the way I felt whenever I was with him. Free, alive, invisible. Yes, that was the word. He made me feel quite immortal. His eyes were so alive and he was just there.
He was to me the first guy who was trying his absolute best to prove himself to me. Although he was quite annoying I did enjoy his presence.
I didn't know for sure what I wanted to do with his request as I looked at his face and noticed the scar marks which looked like a cut on every side of his face. I wanted so much to run my hands through them but from our kiss yesterday I knew it made him uncomfortable.
I didn't want to discomfort him. On the contrary I just wanted him to be happy.
He was smiling and he looked better even with the scar, irrespective of it. I know I was supposed to be afraid of him but I just could not stop myself from staring.
Leaving with him to a place I didn't know sounded dangerous to me. It should be dangerous After all he was just a mysterious new guy in the street and this was not a novel.
He could very well have been a psychopath, or a serial killer but even knowing this I trusted him not to hurt me for some weird reasons.
He was staring at me the whole time while I pondered on what to reply to him.
I made up my mind to live. I was going to make a mistake soon enough in life and I wanted him to be that mistake. If he ever would that is.
"I can try sneaking out but do not try to pull any stunt. You don't know what I'm capable of." I said trying to sound as serious as possible which only made Scar giggle.
I had to put a warning out there that I was not going to be an easy prey for him even if I was not an easy prey because of him. Life played sick games with us.
He stood up immediately dominating the stairs with his form. "I do know what you are capable of my brave Reina." He said it with a chuckle, but I got the feeling that he meant it and It made me feel some kind of way.
I was flustered.
I felt brave.
"So I will go to the junction first and then wait for you there. Hurry up alright." He urged, already going towards the gate. He looked so happy it was contagious.
I nodded in agreement and ran upstairs while thinking of the best excuse to give my mother. I had to come up with something fast.
Hopefully she let me go.
***
Currently I didn't really have any friend. I mean I used to but now we all just chat on Facebook. I guess we were still friends or whatever. Just that we were no longer close again.
I never got to see them anyway. Six years in school with them and now all I just wanted was to focus on myself and my life and make new friends hopefully. Even though I only ended up making new enemies.
Because of the believe that love wasn't real which I had through out half my teen life I didn't allow myself to be attached to any one of them, but my mum didn't need to know that.
I had lied to her that I was going to see a friend and she just let me go after warning me to stay safe. I'm sure she just wanted me to have fun after all I had gone through yesterday.
As for my dad he still hasn't returned after that day when he tried to force me to port-hardcourt again. Just like I suspected then he had another woman and he was definitely going to stay with her until she has drained all there is of him both physically and emotionally then he would return empty to my mom and continue to disgrace us.
This time I didn't feel sorry for my mum though. She gave him all the audacity.
I cast thoughts of him aside. After all it was not as if I missed him.
I was excitedly started skipping to the junction. A rush of adrenaline coercing through me for reasons I couldn't tell or didn't want to tell.
On getting there I found Scar sitting under a small stall which was not open. He had a hoodie over his head now most probably to his Scars.
I walked over to him still excited.
I was breathing heavily courtesy of me jogging my way here.
I had been so anxious to meet him, to be with him again that I had not stopped a second even to catch my breath.
Well I was paying the consequences of it now I could barely breathe.
It felt so weird wanting to be with him so much.
I was trying so hard to fight it but he was so magnetic.
Everything about him was pulling me closer and closer to him no matter how much I wanted to run from him at that point.
I found myself standing in front of him with a broad smile on my face that I couldn't just stop. I was still trying to catch my breath as I stared at him inhaling and exhaling softly.
"You came faster that I expected." He smiled, looking up at me through his hoodie.
"Were you waiting for someone else?" I asked rolling my eyes. Outside I looked so unbothered but inside it suddenly felt like someone was clenching my heart with a strong arm.
However, I knew that I was not jealous.
He stood up with a sigh and pulled me close to him his hands draped around my shoulder.
I tried to get away from his grip but he held on to me tight. He ruffled my hair that I had so neatly combed behind my back.
I giggled and tried to get out of his grip, but again he didn't let me go.
I looked up at him with a frown but I couldn't sustain the frown when he smiled up at me. "Don't scatter my hair!" I whined.
"I can only wait for you." He was grinning so wide now I felt my lips give in to a smile. "Just you."
"Men lie a lot you know so I wouldn't take your word for it." I said, scrunching my nose up at him.
I was trying so much to avoid the fluttering feeling in my heart as if I had just been giving a present.
He threw his head back in laughter.
"I am no ordinary man Reina. Soon you will realize it. Now come I want to show you something." He urged taking my hands in his. I wanted them over my shoulders, but I was too shy to say it.
My pride always wins in situations like this
We walked a short distance down the street until we found an almost lonely street. Here was where rich men lived. You barley saw anybody walking aimlessly in the estate and there were no stores to facilitate gossip.
You could also not go in if you were not invited because of the security men that were positioned at the big black gate.
Scar started pulling me closer and closer to to the Estate and I squeezed his hands forcing him to look at me.
He didn't know the area like I did, hence I felt the need to warn him.
"We can't go into that estate. The security men won't let us in." I informed him, my eyes widening in fear. I didn't want trouble with anybody.
"Not only would they let us in but they will serve us." Scar smiled, as he continued to lead me towards the gate despite my fickle protest.
I couldn't deny the face that I wanted a bit of adventure and that was a big push for me.
