The Art of Revenge

Officially Divorce

Ch. 22 / 166 Dec 24, 2025

"Clint, what are you doing?!" Poppy softened her tone. "Didn't you hear how she insulted me?! Why aren't you doing anything about it?!"

"Enough, stop talking!" Clint's face remained expressionless.

"Last night we agreed that I'd come to see you today, but you still refused to meet me. I thought it was for some important person, but it turns out it's for her!"

Poppy refused to back down. She glared at Serena and continued angrily, "Clint, have you forgotten the torment and pain this woman brought you?! Didn't you say you'd stay far away from her?! Think about Uncle Beckett! He..."

"Enough! Don't say another word!" Clint roared, interrupting her incessant chatter.

Poppy still wasn't satisfied, but under Clint's fierce glare, she didn't dare act up further.

Now, it was Serena who felt a headache.

What did this woman just say?! How did she bring torment and pain to Clint?!

During their time together, wasn't she always obedient to him, doing everything according to his preferences?!

And as for Uncle Beckett... she was talking about Clint's late father, Gaius Beckett, right? By the time she met him, Gaius was already gone. So, what did their relationship have to do with him?

Before she could think deeper, she suddenly felt a warmth around her wrist. She looked down and saw that Clint had unknowingly come over and was holding her hand.

Instinctively, she tugged her hand back.

Sensing her resistance, the man coldly said, "Let's go, we have things to do!"

Poppy yelled, "Clint, how can you hold her hand? Didn't you hear what I said just now?!"

"Shut up!" This time, Clint was very rude to her.

Poppy was so frightened that she immediately fell silent.

Serena was forcefully led by him, moving forward passively. "Hey, what did she mean just now?! I don't quite understand!"

Clint remained silent, only pulling her forward.

Although Poppy dared not speak anymore, she was still unwilling to give up. She followed them, trailing behind them.

At the door to the CEO's office, Clint kicked the door open and pulled Serena inside.

Poppy tried to follow, but as soon as she reached the door, it was slammed shut with a loud bang.

"Clint, Clint! Open the door, let me in! ...Don't be fooled by that woman... Clint!" She couldn't open the door, so she knocked hard.

Inside the office, Clint glanced coldly at the door and then picked up the landline, pressing a few numbers. "Zayn, I want you to get Miss Castano out of here within a minute. If I hear her voice after a minute, you won't have a job to return to tomorrow."

After finishing, he hung up the phone without waiting for a reply.

Not sure what Secretary Zayn did, but soon Poppy's shrill voice disappeared.

The rare silence made Serena feel better. She crossed her arms, looking at Clint with a questioning gaze. "You called me here today to talk about divorce, and you even brought her along. Are you afraid I won't sign the divorce agreement?"

Clint's face remained tense. Clearly, Poppy's departure hadn't improved his mood.

He remained silent, and Serena didn't rush him. She just raised her brows, standing there watching him.

Soon, the man sighed lightly, said nothing, and opened the divorce agreement in front of him.

Without looking up, he hadn't spared her a single glance since entering the office. "If you have no objections to the contents of the agreement, just sign it. From now on... there will be no more ties between us."

"Of course I'll sign, but you still haven't answered my question. What was Poppy saying just now?! She mentioned your father. What does our divorce have to do with him?!"

Clint seemed to have not heard her. He said nothing and just signed his name on the divorce agreement in bold, flowing strokes.

After both copies of the agreement were signed, he pushed one toward Serena, his voice low, "If you don't sign, don't blame me for changing my mind!"

"Change your mind?!" Serena sneered and took the pen from his hand. "Even if you want to change your mind, you should ask Poppy if she agrees first!"

Bending down, she wrote her name next to his, her handwriting graceful yet strong, just like her.

After signing, she stood up and looked at their names on the divorce agreement, a sudden pang of sadness hit her heart.

From now on, he would no longer be her husband, and she would no longer be his wife.

After all the ups and downs, they were now two strangers again.

She took a deep breath, grabbed one of the signed agreements, and stuffed it into her bag. "Alright, mission accomplished, you..."

As her eyes shifted toward Clint, he suddenly turned around, facing the floor-to-ceiling windows behind him, leaving her with a distant back.

Serena gave a self-deprecating smile and shook her head. "Well, the marriage is over. Some things don't matter whether you explain them or not. Anyway, from now on, your business has nothing to do with me."

Clint still didn't turn around, his body stiff as he faced away from her, his expression hidden.

Seeing that he had no intention of acknowledging her, Serena didn't bother anymore. She waved her hand and said solemnly, "Goodbye, Clint!"

The man's shoulders suddenly trembled, but he still didn't turn around.

Serena didn't think much of it. She turned and walked out.

As she was leaving, the swivel chair made a barely audible sound. Clint suddenly spun around, his gaze barely catching a few strands of her hair flying in the air.

Muttering to himself, he gave a bitter smile and said softly, "If only you weren't Bram's daughter..."

At that moment, Poppy had just shaken off Secretary Zayn's obstruction and rushed out of the VIP room. She collided with Serena, who was heading toward the elevator.

She didn't know that Serena had already signed the divorce agreement with Clint.

Blocking Serena's path, Poppy sneered, "Serena, I advise you not to cling to Clint anymore! If you have any feelings for him, just let him go! Your presence only causes him pain and distress!"

Serena wasn't planning to deal with her and tried to walk past her.

But Poppy refused to let her go, blocking her path wherever she tried to go.

Serena stopped, confused, and looked at her. "What exactly do you want?!"

Poppy stood in front of her. "Serena, let's talk."

"Talk?! What is there to talk about between us?!"

"There are some things, about Uncle Beckett, that I think you'll be interested in!"
