The Alphas And Their Human Girl

Chapter83: Where My Mark Goes

Ch. 83 / 125 Sep 17, 2024

It was buzzing inside the mansion when Lola arrived. She listened in to hear if maybe Jax was close by but there were too many voices overlapping and she couldn't separate them to find his.

She walked to the study thinking that's where he had to be and she passed many warriors on the way, all of them eyeing her with judgment as she tried to hold her head high and not shrink under their glares.

Lola refused to let it show just how intimidated she was but it ate her up inside every day and more so now that she kept comparing herself to Lavina.

Down the corridor, she began to hear his voice. It was loud and demanding but was he talking to himself? She didn't hear anyone else.

She walked down and opened the door only to see him sitting behind the desk, slumped in the chair with his eyes closed and the phone pressed to his ear.

Jax finished the phone call and dropped his hand on the desk. She contemplated speaking up but he seemed so tired and in no mood to talk. Perhaps it was better if she brought up her concerns with him another time.

"What?" Jax barked without opening his eyes. She jumped and looked around- he had to be talking to Lola, she was the only one in the room. She gulped and stepped back, suddenly regretting not staying with Melissa and Ed in town. Startled by his rough voice, she looked back and started picking on her nails.

"I'm sorry it was nothing, we can talk later," she turned around, cursed herself for backing down as she walked out into the hallway and hurried up to the guest room. Everyone eyed her as she ran up the stairs but she barely saw them- the tunnel vision she currently had could only see the door to the guest room, everything else was background noise and dark silhouettes.

The air became thinner and the voices in her head grew louder when she closed the door to the room behind her.

She opened the closet and pulled out the computer that Jax had gotten her and she put it in her bag.

Lola realized that she could either sit around and feel sorry for herself or she could try and savor the good things she had in her life. Such as Melissa and school.

Once the bag was packed with some clothes and a toothbrush, she put the bag on the bed and sat down. The pit in her stomach grew when she closed her eyes and saw Jax slumped in his chair.

He was exhausted, she knew that, but was it selfish of her to want to be filled in on what went on in his life?

The door to the room opened up and Jax stepped inside. He walked over with slow, heavy, steps, watching her fox-shaped eyes grow round and her lips parting- he reached out his hands and pulled her up from the bed.

"I'm sorry for barking at you. You came to see me, why?" He asked softly and stroked the hair away from her face.

"I heard you're going away, when were you planning on telling me?" She asked.

Jax leaned back with a quizzical look.

"I'm not going, we are," He said and shook his head.

His hands played over her neck and he pulled at her waist.

"I'm coming with you?" Lola asked and tried to refrain from the foolish smile she felt coming on.

Jax smiled, he leaned in and pressed against her as his lips claimed hers.

She moved in unison with him and felt the places tingle where his touch grew rougher and more demanding.

She drew a sharp breath when his hand came down on her ass and he lifted her up so she straddled his waist.

Jax walked them over to the bed, their lips in a battle for dominance but Lola submitted, happily letting him win. He was here, with her, and these were the moments when she felt full and at home.

The warmth in her skin reminded her of where she belonged and it was right here, in Jax's arms.

All the doubts and the fears washed away, the noises drowned out and the blurry visions suddenly became clear.

It was all right here, everything she needed to feel alive. No matter the occasional emotional distance between them, Lola had come to realize that Jax was her home- the air in her lungs and the newfound lust for life.

Jax laid her down and leaned over her writhing body. He lifted her shirt over her head and undid her pants- all the while gazing deep into her eyes. He removed his own shirt and Lola's hands trailed down his front as she sucked her lip between her teeth.

She gazed at the perfect god-like man and couldn't fathom how he was all hers. There was a new aura around him as well now that he was Alpha. It was rougher, stronger, and more commanding than before.

Jax grabbed her hands and pinned them down.

His lips worked down her neck, trailing kisses up and down her warm skin. Lola's eyes which were closed in pleasure, suddenly opened in panic when she felt the razor-sharp sting on her neck and her body froze in fear.

"Jax..." she said in an exhale and held her breath.

His canines scraped against her skin, his hand held her pressed down into the mattress and though she thrashed under him he seemed to be in a trans.

"Jax, don't," her voice hitched as she begged.

Lola knew what it meant to be marked, they had explained it to her and she knew that the reason Jax hadn't done it yet was because he was worried about how her body would react.

Like the sharp burn of a knife scraping against flesh, layers of her skin were being scraped off.

Jax watched as the first drop of blood pooled on the top of her neck, staining her skin and dripping down into her blonde hair. Lola winced.

"Jax..." she trembled in fear.

He pressed her down, holding her body still as she moved against him trying to get free from under him.

"Shh," his lips came up to silence her, and with each gentle stroke she began to forget the pain that was healing on her neck.

He moved down, kissing over the wound once more and his canines pressing harder into her flesh.

Lola tried to move her hands but they were pinned tightly over her head.

Jax's hand circled her neck and his teeth scraped rougher over her skin.

"One day," he smiled, "my mark will paint this pretty body of yours and everyone will know who it belongs to,"

Laying on top of her she could feel his inner turmoil, how he fought with himself to refrain from marking her. His eyes darkened and it seemed like now that he was officially an Alpha, both he and his wolf grew more impatient about marking their mate. It was a right of passage, the one thing that would tie them together and make Lola part of the pack- even if she wasn't tied to the rest of the pack members as a Luna usually is.

Jax flipped her over and pulled her ass back. He kissed down her naked body and tore her panties off in a flash- his hands moved over her skin in rough caresses and his eyes were dark as they watched her writhe against him.

He tossed the laced fabric on the floor, moved his hand from around her neck, and fisted her hair. Jax rubbed his fingers between her folds- Lola leaned forward when he entered her with two fingers and started moving them in and out but the feeling- it was different. This wasn't like the other times they had made love, this was more about power and dominance than love and care.

Lola was happy to be in his arms but an odd feeling was filling her slowly when it dawned on her that maybe he wasn't the same after taking over the title, maybe this person was someone else entirely. He leaned down, his lips playing by her ear and he kissed just below her earlobe.

"I will understand how I got so lucky," he groaned and played with his tip by her entrance.

A moan escaped her lips. His voice was still the same- even if his touch was hastier, his moves more impatient and his claim much rougher, his voice remained the one she fell in love with; even if she hadn't told him yet.

He claimed her lips one last time and whispered in a warning, "Let me know if this hurts,"

Lola's head flew back and her moans filled the room.
