The Alpha Triplets and the Rogue

546 Vulnerable

Ch. 546 / 580 Jan 28, 2026

Wren POV

I calm my anger before I leave the twins bedroom. I shouldn't be angry at Charlie. He did what he thought was necessary to save me, but it hurts to think I will never hold a little red-headed copy of him.

Macy and my brothers easily gave up having children, but that's not me. I desperately want to be a mother. It is the only thing I thought I could actually be good at. I don't have much experience with children, but I always saw myself as a mother. Will that even be a reality now? Can a Fae and a Werewolf have children together? Or did Charlie take away my only chance to give birth?

Closing the door behind me, I follow the sound of my mates voices down the hall. Charlie and Destin are putting sheets on a giant bed. Leaning against the doorframe, I watch them silently. It looks so domestic, and it makes me giggle. They lift their heads at the same time and glare at me.

"Do you think you can do better?" Charlie asks playfully.

I want to scream at him. Pound my fists against his chest and demand to know why he gave away the one thing we could have between just us. But I don't. He has told me for a reason, and I am sure he will in his own time. So, I plaster my best smile on my face and tease them.

"That isn't how you do the corners," I sigh.

I step to the side of the bed and tuck the corner neatly under the mattress. Destin and Charlie are watching me like I have just performed witchcraft.

"Now, you try," I tease.

Destin and Charlie share a look, and I instantly know I'm in trouble. A smirk spreads across Destin's lips, and I back away from the bed. But I run into Charlie, and he wraps his hands around my waist.

"We have business to attend to," he whispers in my ear.

His breath against my skin makes my toes curl, and I arch against his touch. "What's that?"

"You aren't going another day without my mark on your neck," he informs me.

"Oh," I mutter.

I can't keep my nervousness from my voice, knowing they can feel it through the mate bond. It's not that I don't want them, but the scar on my stomach is grotesque. An ugly reminder that I wasn't strong enough to fight for our bond.

Destin's brows are knitted together in concern. I quickly build walls around my mind, desperate to keep him from knowing my dark thoughts.

"I won't ever read your mind without permission," he assures me.

I place my hands on my hips. "Then how did you know I was trying to block you out?"

"Kitten," he sighs. "It was written all over your face. Now, tell us what is wrong."

I twist my hands together in front of me. "It is silly."

Charlie tugs me against his chest. "We have to tell each other things for this to work."

I can't help but scoff. What a fucking hypocritical thing for him to say. By the look on Destin's face, he is thinking the same thing I am.

"You don't get to speak to her about secrets when you are keeping your own."

A growl rumbles in Charlie's throat. "What I gave the Moon Goddess doesn't concern you."

"But it concerns me," I let slip.

Charlie unwraps his hands from me and steps back. "Are you looking into my future? That is as bad as Destin reading our minds."

I keep my eyes on the ground. "I can't always help it."

Destin throws his hands in the air. "If she gets to know, then I want to know, too."

"Goddess, you are annoying." Charlie groans. "No one would guess you are a million years old, because you are constantly acting like a fucking child."

Destin's eyes glow with anger. "That is better than getting drunk at the slightest inconvenience."

Just like that, everything is out of control. Charlie and Destin are shouting at each other, forgetting that there are children right down the hall. I try to shush them, but they aren't paying attention to me. My eyes are bouncing between them like a ping pong ball. I have to figure out how to make them shut up.

Finally, I stand on the bed and rip off my shirt. "This is what I was worried about."

My voice was louder than I meant it to be, but their eyes are on me now, and they are silent. I can feel their eyes on me, but I am not brave enough to look at either of them. I know they are looking at the scar on my stomach, and I don't think my heart can handle it.

"What are we supposed to be looking at?" Charlie asks stupidly. "Because I would like to see your breasts, but your bra is in the way."

"And your pants are in the way of your ass," Destin chimes in.

"Unbelievable," I grumble. "I was trying to be vulnerable, and you two make it a joke."

"Kitten," Destin coos. "A little scar isn't going to keep us from finding you attractive."

"It's not the way the scar looks," I whine. "It is what it means. Why it is there."

"I am confused," Charlie admits.

"Forget it," I snarl.

There is a tiny knock on the door. I pull my shirt over my head and step off the bed. When I open the door, Veyra is waiting for me on the other side. Her eyes are swimming with tears. "Birdie. We heard yelling."

"I know," I say, picking her up. "Destin and Charlie weren't getting along. I am sorry they woke you up."

"I don't like it when people fight," she whimpers. "It is scary."

I glare over my shoulder at my mates. "I will make sure it doesn't happen again."

She wipes her tears. "Will you lie with me until I fall asleep?"

"Gladly," I tell her, shutting the door behind me.
