Mated To The Devil's Son

Book 2: Chapter 31

Ch. 104 / 125 Feb 08, 2026

Ever since the incident with the strange maid, I have tried my best to avoid her for the time being until I figure out who she truly is. It was still very hard for me to believe what had happened myself. It was close to impossible for her to cause me so much pain without touching me and as a female werewolf.

I can't help but worry about how and where she and Josh happened to meet, and I doubt if he knew what she was capable of doing or could they have come together to defeat me. I hope she doesn't come as a hindrance to my plans, or else I will have to get rid of her the same way that I got rid of Lenora. She must also have a source that her powers rely on, and if I take her far away from the source, then she will be hopeless, and I'll deal with her the way that I want.

"Don't mess with my people." Those were the words she said before walking out of me. Those words made me upset, but at the same time I felt chills in my spine at the thought of the unbearable and complicated pain that I had to go through before she said those words.

I understand that she was protecting Josh, but at that point, she meant that she was protecting other people. Who could they be?

I immediately remembered that I had to send words to Anselm to ask about Lenora's whereabouts and to confirm if she was dead or not, so I pulled out my phone from my pocket to send him a text.

I noticed that the prince had been keeping records of things that came and went in this pack, including messages and voice calls, so I had to code the message as much as I could and send it to a middle man who would deliver it to Anselm. I hope he replies with good news and tells me that she is dead.

Knock knock

A knock on my door brought me out of my thoughts. I was angry at the moment, and the last thing I needed was a knock on my door. At first, I ignored the knock, hoping that the person would leave immediately if I didn't answer, but they didn't leave, and this time, their knock was more aggressive.

"What is it?" I growled at the person behind the door as soon as I was able to open it.

"The prince calls for you," she said, with fear in her face. My creased brows immediately straightened.

"Okay, I'll be there," I answered before closing the door.

I was excited. The prince had not called for me in days and had prevented me from talking to him on multiple occasions, but he finally needed my help, and I couldn't wait to meet him.

I needed to do something with the scar on my neck, so I took a long scarf that was easy to spot in my wardrobe and covered my neck with it. I applied some extra pumps of the perfume all over my body to smell nice and, with a practiced perfect smile, I left the room for his.

"Your highness," I called for him as I knocked on his door, but he had instantly answered my first knock.

"Come in, Jenny," he said. I opened the door with a smile on my face, but my smile dropped at the sight in front of me.

He had his piles of clothes on the floor and also a travel box. Was the prince leaving this pack?

"Are you going somewhere, your highness?" I asked. He seemed to be engrossed in what he was reading, but I was sure that he had perfectly heard me, so I waited for his response.

"Yes," he flatly answered. I was expecting more information from him, but it doesn't look like he was going to continue.

"How can I help you, your highness?" I asked.

"I need you to pack suitable clothes for me as I will be staying a week or more in Edessa. Choose the clothes according to the weather there, he answered.

The island of Edessa is very far from the pack house and is also one of the most isolated and deserted kingdoms on the island. The island is also known for its mostly sunny weather, but something about that place seems off to me.

It is an isolated island that is cut off from the rest of the world. They don't have the same technology that we do and are unlikely to have seen articles about Lenora's disappearance with her picture on them. If Lenora was to hide somewhere, then that might actually be a perfect place for her to hide, but I definitely hope that she's dead. I hope Anselm replies with good news.

"Yes, your highness," I replied, immediately packing his luggage and including his necessities for the time he would spend there. For days, he had not called me to his room like this, and I couldn't help thinking that he might want me to follow him to Edessa this time instead of Josh, so I decided to take the risk of asking him.

"Am I coming with you, your highness?" I asked, a loud sigh that was coming from him followed.

"I don't want you around." He replied. His words were like a sharp knife that stung my chest, and at this point, I was supposed to be immune to his words, but they still affected me.

I packed the rest of his luggage in silence, and the moment that I was done with them, he immediately dismissed me within the blink of an eye. I held my tears back and vowed to take my anger out on whoever would upset me next.

While walking back to my room, a guard crossed paths with me, and I was only a bit close to ending his life until he whispered something into my ear. Something that I had been waiting for.

I gestured at him to follow me to the back of the pack house, which was barely occupied and almost empty as I urged him to spill the news to me in eagerness. I don't know how Anselm managed to pull it off, but he somehow delivered the message around until it reached a guard that was to transfer it to me.

"What did Anselm say? Tell me she's dead," I said, rushing my words. The guard seemed uncomfortable as I spotted beads of sweat rolling down his face while he tried to swallow the saliva in his mouth.

"The demon prince did his research and found out that she was still alive." The guard said, immediately fueling my anger as I tried to control myself from killing him on the spot. If I did that, I'd have to strain myself to get rid of his body, and I was already exhausted.

"Okay," I replied, through clenched teeth.

"That's not all," he added, making my ears erect in curiosity and hope that it would be better news. Perhaps she's trapped in a gigantic hole and won't be able to come out, or maybe in the stomach of a whale.

"What else?" I asked, a tiny glimpse of hope shining in my eyes.

"She was last seen in the Kingdom of Edessa," he replied, my face falling into shock. I can't let it happen. Edessa is also the place that the prince wants to go to. He might end up meeting her again, and all my efforts will go down the drain. I won't be able to have the prince all to myself.

"The demon prince also wanted me to ask if you're doing your job at slowly killing the prince..." The guard tried to say, but I didn't let him finish his statement before my beast flared up and instantly ripped his heart out, causing him to fall lifelessly on the floor with his eyes open.

The prince must not go to Edessa, and I must find a way to stop this from happening. I must find a way to kill her in that place before he gets to her. Lenora has to die this time around, and there won't be any escape for her. I need to act quickly.

***

"Your highness", I knocked on his door, in hopes that he would answer me this time.

"What do you want?" He inquired with his deep, raspy voice that made all my feelings for him resurface once again. I honestly can't wait for him to realised that I am his soulmate all along and we'll live happily together.

"I brought food, your highness."

"I'm not hungry," he instantly replied.

"They're your favourites..."

"I'm not hungry." He shunned me. His highness has really become stubborn, and I doubt he would eat this from me.

"I spent hours making this for you, my lord," I whimper.

"If I have wronged you, please forgive me, your highness. You've been deserting me lately and I had to spend hours making your favourite dish the way you always like it," I cried. I was hoping to gain his sympathy. It always works for him, and I hope it works this time too.

"Jenny, I am not hungry."

"Please your highness, I'll probably fall sick for weeks by thinking that I haven't been fulfilling my job well and now you hate me." I burst out in tears, loud enough for him to hear me through the doors.

I knew that he wouldn't be able to resist me for too long, and before I knew it, he opened the doors to his room.

"Come in," he said.

"Thank you, your highness," I whimpered, and cleaned the tears off my eyes with my elbows the moment I placed the tray of pork steak and extra fermented red wine on his table.

I watched as he debated for some time on whether or not to eat my food, but after taking a bite off the pork steak, he left his fork on the tray, but after some minutes, he returned for more.

After eating the steak, he went for the red wine and a small smile tucked in the corner of my lips. This was where the real fun began, and I hate to do him this way, but I'd do anything to keep him away from that bitch who calls herself his mate.

I watched as he gulped down all of the wine and the effect instantly kicked in. I had spiked his drink with some ancient herbs that I managed to lay my hands on. The herb was supposed to keep him drunk for a whole day, and then after that, he'd be unable to move for almost a week. A week was all I needed to find and kill that little brat, but I also had some things to do with my beloved Alaric.

He might be drunk at the moment, but he will be able to remember about 70% of his total memory, and I'm about to use it to its fullest.

I walked over to the door and locked it to prevent anyone else from entering the room as I pulled off my top and trousers, revealing just my sexy underwear.

I walked up to him on the chair that he was sitting on as I slowly sat on his lap and connected my lips to his.

"Fuck," I moaned, taking in and savouring every taste of his lips. I deepened the kiss, and he let me in by giving me an entrance. His hands grabbed a fist full of my hair as he pulled me closer to him.

"My little Nora," he mumbled,

"I'm your little Jenny," I replied, tears building up in my eyes, but I connected my lips back to his. I would have taken this chance to have him in me, but I'd rather do that with him being fully conscious. It'll be memorable that way. Besides, this memory is enough to make him think that he impregnated me.
