Mated by Mistake

Being with you

Ch. 76 / 77 Apr 22, 2025

As the forest path wound gently beneath the towering trees, Rosalie waddled besides Alex, her hand securely in his. The moonlight filtered through the trees, casting a soft glow over their path. Her heart was brimming with curiosity and excitement.

"Where are we going, Alex?" Rosalie asked, glancing at him with a playful yet puzzled look.

Alex turned to her with a mischievous smile, his eyes twinkling with secrets. "It's a surprise."

Rosalie chuckled, feeling a warm sense of anticipation. "You know, I feel like an elephant walking through the forest with my huge bump," she grumbled, patting her rounded belly affectionately.

Alex laughed softly and squeezed her hand. "Don't worry, you're glowing and beautiful, bump and all."

They continued their stroll; the cool night air was filled with the sounds of rustling leaves and distant crickets. After a few more steps, they arrived at a clearing where a table with two chairs was set up, candles flickering on it. The scene looked straight out of a fairy tale, with the moonlight adding an enchanting glow to everything around them.

"Alex!" Rosalie exclaimed, her eyes widening in surprise and delight as she took in the romantic setting. The sight completely took her breath away.

"We had never had a dinner outside before, so I figured I'd give you a little surprise," Alex said, guiding her to the chair. He helped her sit down before taking the seat opposite her.

A small vase filled with fresh roses sat in the centre of the table, their sweet fragrance mingling with the crisp night air. Alex cradled her hand in his as an omega approached, carrying the first dish of their surprise dinner.

"For you, my Luna," Alex said, nodding to the omega, who placed the dish on her plate with a respectful bow.

"Enjoy your dinner, my Alphas," the Omega said before leaving them to their private evening.

Rosalie turned her head, hearing the soft strains of a violin being played in the background. Sure enough, a couple of wolves were serenading them, adding to the magical ambience. Suddenly, Alex produced something from his jacket, a red jewellery box, and handed it to her with a sheepish grin.

"Open it," he urged, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

Rosalie's fingers trembled with glee as she ripped open the box. Inside, a sparkling ruby and diamond necklace lay nestled in velvet. Her breath caught in her throat at the sight.

"Do you like it?" Alex asked, his voice filled with hope and love.

Tears of happiness welled in Rosalie's eyes as she gazed at the stunning piece of jewellery. "It's beautiful," she murmured, her voice choked with emotion.

"Love, I thought I would see your smile, not your tears," Alex whispered, gently wiping her tears away. She held his left hand and kissed his fingers lovingly.

"I am happy," she breathed out, "thrilled."

"I realised I had never gifted you anything," he smiled. The past few months had been filled with anxiety and danger, and now he wanted to shower her with the love and appreciation she deserved.

Rosalie stood up and leant across the table to kiss him. Their lips met in a passionate kiss, sealing the moment with the promise of their enduring love. When they finally pulled away, she smiled at him, her heart full.

They spent the rest of the evening enjoying their meal, laughing, and sharing sweet memories. The forest seemed to wrap them in a protective embrace, and for that moment, all worries and fears melted away. They were simply Alex and Rosalie, two souls deeply in love.

"You know, we should probably start thinking about names for the twins." Alex said that after a while, they were sitting besides the lake after finishing their dinner.

Rosalie's eyes lit up with excitement. "Yes, we should. I've been thinking about it a lot lately. Do you have any names in mind?"

Alex nodded thoughtfully. "For a boy, I was thinking about Ethan. It's a strong name, and it means 'firm' . What do you think?"

Rosalie smiled, the name resonating with her immediately. "I love it. Ethan sounds perfect for our little boy."

Alex squeezed her hand gently. "And for a girl, how about Ava? It's a beautiful name, simple yet elegant."

Rosalie's eyes sparkled with joy. "Ava is lovely. Ethan and Ava. They sound perfect together."

Alex nodded, his heart swelling with happiness. "Ethan and Ava it is, then."

They sat in comfortable silence for a few moments, the names echoing in their minds, filling them with warmth and anticipation. Then, Alex turned to Rosalie, his expression turning serious but still soft.

"But Alex, what if we have two boys or two girls? We need more names," Rosalie mused, her brow furrowed slightly.

Alex chuckled. "Hmm, you have a point. How about you decide on two names? Then we will have four names to choose from. For all outcomes."

Rosalie laughed, feeling a sense of relief and joy at the thought. "Alright, let me think. For another boy, how about Nathan? It means 'gift,' and I think it fits perfectly."

Alex nodded appreciatively. "Nathan is a wonderful name. And for another girl?"

Rosalie's eyes sparkled as she considered her options. "For a girl, I love the name Lily. It's simple and beautiful."

Alex smiled warmly. "Nathan and Lily. Ethan and Ava. I think we've covered all the possibilities."

He leant in and kissed her gently, his lips soft and warm against hers. The kiss deepened, filled with promise and passion, sealing their shared dreams for the future. When they finally pulled away, they rested their foreheads together, breathing in the same rhythm.

"Do you think we'll be good parents?" Rosalie asked softly, her voice tinged with vulnerability.

Alex smiled reassuringly. "I know we will be. We'll make mistakes, sure, but we'll learn from them. And we'll have each other every step of the way."

Rosalie nodded, feeling a profound sense of peace and confidence. "I love you, Alex."

"I love you too, Rosie," he replied, his voice filled with sincerity and devotion.

As the night wore on, they finally decided to head back home. Alex helped Rosalie to her feet, supporting her as they made their way through the forest.

When they reached the edge of the forest, Rosalie paused and turned to Alex. "Thank you for tonight, Alex. It was magical."

He smiled and kissed her forehead. "Anything for you, my love."
