Luna Aurora

Chapter 400

Ch. 400 / 450 May 05, 2026

The Rift was collapsing around them. The sky split open with cracks of raw energy, and the ground beneath Elyra’s feet trembled with an intensity that threatened to swallow them whole. Shadows and light swirled together, tearing at the fabric of reality itself. The storm raged, and the air was thick with the weight of impending destruction. Elyra could feel it, the world on the brink of shattering. Her heart pounded in her chest as she struggled to rise, pain from the impact of Dain’s attack coursing through her body.

The Lunar Heart, barely clinging to life in her hands, pulsed faintly. She gripped it tighter, willing it to respond.

“You can’t save him,” Dain’s voice echoed from the shadows, cold and unyielding. “This is the end, Elyra.”

His figure loomed before her, larger than life, monstrous and consumed by shadow. His eyes were pure void, no trace of the brother she knew remaining. She could feel the shard’s power flowing through him, stronger than ever, drowning out everything else. The pull of his darkness was undeniable, like a gravitational force she could not escape.

Just as Elyra struggled to stand, a figure appeared, stepping through the storm with an ease that defied the chaos surrounding them.

Althea.

The sight of the mysterious Luna, her aura radiating a calm strength that contrasted with the madness of the Rift, caused Elyra’s heart to skip a beat. Althea’s presence was like a tether to reality, a stabilizing force amid the turmoil.

“You… you came,” Elyra whispered, barely able to find her voice.

Althea’s gaze softened, though her expression was grave. “I came to reveal the final truth of the prophecy.”

Elyra’s stomach dropped. “What do you mean? What truth?”

Althea stepped closer, her eyes never leaving Elyra’s. “The prophecy is not what you believed. It is not about saving your brother. It is about balance. One twin must surrender their power willingly to restore that balance. Only one of you can survive this.”

The words hit Elyra like a physical blow. She staggered, her heart aching at the thought. “No… That can’t be right. There has to be another way.”

Althea shook her head, her voice soft but firm. “You cannot both survive this, Elyra. The world is not strong enough for both light and shadow to remain unchecked. If you and Dain continue on this path, the world itself will tear apart.”

Elyra’s mind spun. The weight of the choice before her was unbearable. To save everything, to restore balance, she would have to sacrifice Dain. To save him, she would have to sacrifice herself. She refused to believe that there was no other way. The thought of losing him, of having to destroy him to stop this madness, was more than she could bear. But Althea’s words were clear, undeniable.

“Dain… I can’t give up on him,” Elyra whispered, more to herself than anyone else. She shook her head fiercely, as if doing so would erase the impossible choice before her. “I won’t. There has to be another way. There has to be.”

Althea looked at her with sadness in her eyes. “You are not weak for choosing him. But if you continue down this path, everything will be lost. You will either destroy the world or destroy yourselves.”

A sharp, guttural laugh broke through the silence. Dain stood, towering above them, his figure flickering with shadow. His eyes locked onto Elyra’s, and the fury in them was palpable.

“Enough of this!” he growled, his voice echoing across the storm. “It’s too late for your mercy, Elyra. The world will be mine. Your light means nothing now. The shard is all that matters.”

Elyra flinched, but she held her ground. She couldn’t let him go, couldn’t let this be the end. She could still feel the faintest trace of him in the shadows, the brother she once knew, hidden deep inside the abyss. She refused to give up on him.

“No, Dain. I won’t let you do this. I won’t let the shard control you,” Elyra called out, her voice filled with desperation.

But Dain’s laugh only grew colder. He stepped forward, his shadowy form swelling with power. The ground trembled beneath him, and the sky above rained with violent energy. The Rift was collapsing at an accelerating rate, and Elyra knew that time was running out.

“You’re too late,” Dain hissed. “The final blow is about to land. There’s no going back now.”

The ground cracked beneath his feet, and the energy in the Rift surged as he prepared to unleash his final strike. Elyra’s breath caught in her throat as she realized what was coming. This would be the moment—his final, devastating blow. The moment that would decide everything.

She could feel the Rift’s collapse deep in her bones. She could hear the storm rage around them, threatening to tear everything apart. And yet, even in the face of it all, she refused to let go of hope.

“I’m not giving up on you, Dain,” Elyra whispered, clutching the Lunar Heart to her chest. “I’ll never give up.”

But as she spoke, a flash of light appeared behind her. It was the Warden of Shadows, his presence an oppressive weight against the storm. He stepped forward, his eyes gleaming with the cold certainty of his victory.

“You cannot win, Elyra,” the Warden said, his voice like a death sentence. “The prophecy is already fulfilled. The shard’s power will consume him—and it will consume you too, if you continue this fight.”

The Warden’s words echoed through the storm, but Elyra’s resolve remained unbroken. She would not let this be the end. She couldn’t.

-: The Rift begins collapsing, and Dain prepares to deliver a final, devastating blow.
