Louisa Unchained

Chapter 126

Ch. 126 / 262 Apr 29, 2026

  Louisa's POV

"Are you taking his side, Louisa?" Will narrowed his eyes and said. "You don't know what kind of mistake you're making! Werewolves hate vampires! You're no longer one of them! They treat you like freaks, just like the way they treat Darren..."

"Enough!" I raised my voice. I was so furious at the arrogance in Will's voice. "I'm not a freak! And if what you've just said is your real thoughts, I don't want to be your friend anymore."

I picked him up, put him on my side, and stood up. I felt so angry that I didn't even know what exactly was bothering me. The effect of alcohol was still there and my mind was like a ball of twisted wires entangling one another. Whenever I wanted to think, I started to get a headache.

After pacing back and forth for a few rounds, I heard Will's voice -

  "Louisa..."

"Shut up!" I turned back and roared at him. "It's you! It's all because of you! You stabbed me and you changed me into a freak without my permission! So stop pretending to be innocent. You may look like a child, but you have a bad influence on me! It's all your fault!"

Will looked at me with a tremendous grievance. His eyes were filled with swirling tears, but somehow he refused to let them drop.

"I'm sorry for everything, Louisa. I will not have anything to do with you." Will said in a trembling voice. Then, he changed into a mist of blood and disappeared into the thin air.

At that very moment, there was a knock at the door.

Alpha Zackery opened the door and saw the young soldier named Fyrer standing at the entrance, holding some blankets in one hand and two chickens in the other.

Their feet were tied up together while being held upside down, so they flapped their wings with great force, trying to break away from Fyrer's grip. Feathers scattered all over Fyrer's suit and hair.

Alpha Zackery picked up a feather from his messy hair and asked playfully, "Is this all you've got?"

"Your Excellency," Fyrer looked at Alpha Zackery in a panic and said. "There are still three more chickens on the way. I can only carry two at a time because of their feisty nature."

Alpha Zackery snickered and took the blankets from Fyrer.

"I'll keep the blankets and these chickens will not be required," he said.

"Your Excellency, I can get another set of chickens if they're not up to par," Fyrer said eagerly.

"Don't worry about it, F. Take those poor chickens away and set them free." Alpha Zackery said with a hand covering his mouth.

Fyrer looked confused, but he straightened his back and said, "Very good, Your Excellency. I'll be right outside if Your Excellency needs anything."

"Your spirit of service is well acknowledged. You can go now." Alpha Zackery said.

After Fyrer walked away with the chickens, Alpha Zackery closed the door and looked at me.

I was still in a temper, but it was really difficult not to laugh after witnessing what had happened.

Alpha Zackery walked next to me and said, "Don't worry, little girl. I know it might sound pretentious, but I do understand your frustration and depression. We've all got heydays and bad days in our lives. But please trust me, everything will be fine because I'm on your side now. I will not let anyone hurt you again."

"Who are you?!" I looked at him with raised eyebrows. "And why are you so kind to me?! Why can't you just be like anyone else and leave me alone? I mean..."

I didn't finish my sentence, because I felt a wave of nausea rising from the bottom of my stomach.

I curled up and started to retch again, covering my face and trying not to throw up.

A gold bucket was pushed into my sight. I grabbed it as the straw of my life and immediately started to vomit.

Someone pulled my hair for me while I was throwing up and I knew it was Alpha Zackery.

He gently patted my back and said, "Let it all out, little girl. I'm here with you."

After throwing up the last drop of liquid in my stomach, I fell down to the floor like a stringed puppet.

Alpha Zackery tried to pull me up from the floor, but I refused to let him do so.

He pushed the bucket away and some soldiers took it away. Then, someone fetched a glass of water. He took it and passed it to me.

I pushed the glass away. It probably wasn't a good idea to put anything into my stomach.

"Do you want me to take you to the lavatory and help you to clean up everything?" he said.

  "Yes, please," I whispered.

He held me up by my waist and legs and walked me into the lavatory inside the box.

Then, he carefully put me on the edge of the basin top and cleaned me up with a towel and running water.

After being cleaned up with the cold towel, I felt much soberer than before. At the same time, I felt so humiliated and ashamed of what I had done.

It was a very strange feeling. I clearly remembered everything I had done, but I couldn't hold myself accountable for doing any of them. It felt like I was shortly possessed by someone else. A reckless, bad-tempered, and rude creature, who made a bizarre scene in front of literally all the dignitaries in the North and selective ones from the South.

The way I slurred, stumbled, and fell would definitely make today and tomorrow's headline in the entire Kingdom and it might forever be remembered in infamy.

Most importantly, I said very mean things to Will and I might have lost him permanently in my life.

It wasn't fair to blame him for saving my life. I was just being an asshole like Lucas.

As I sat there going through what I had done with remorse, Alpha Zackery held my hands in his.

"It must be very hard for you to love someone who's so impossible, little girl. I fully understand your feeling right now." He stared into my eyes and said. "I was in love with someone once. I wasn't able to do anything to make them love me the way I expected them to."

Feeling heartbroken, I cried out, "It's just... so hard and painful..."

"I know. I know." He held me in his arms and let me cry on his shoulders. "There's nothing wrong with being in love with someone."
