"I disagree."
Annette frowned.
A corner of his mouth lifted. "We will stay in the same room, but I won't touch you. How about that?"
Annette wanted to say something.
Connor said, "Come on. Let's go downstairs, and I'll take you to play golf."
They came to the first floor and bumped into Alina, who happened to come inside.
Facing Connor and Annette, Alina asked with a stiff smile on her face, "Have you picked your room yet? I came back to pick a room as well."
"Yes, we did. You go ahead."
As Connor spoke, he pulled Annette and was about to leave. Alina looked back at him and said softly, "Connor."
Both Annette and Connor stopped and turned to look at her.
Alina smiled and said, "Can I talk to you alone for a minute?"
"Now?"
Alina nodded.
Annette sensibly took her hand out of Connor's and said, "I'll wait for you outside."
After Annette went out, Alina walked up to Connor.
"Connor, are you serious with Ms. Hall?" Alina asked.
"Do I not look serious to you?"
Alina bit her lip and looked at him. It was because he looked utterly serious that she was so upset.
"I know I made a mistake, and for that, I'm sorry. I know the past is past, and I shouldn't bring them up again, but Connor..."
He interrupted her and said, "Let's forget those things that should be forgotten and never mention them again. I think that's the best for everyone."
"Connor, all I want is for you to be happy. Do you understand?" Alina said.
"I am very happy now," Connor looked at her and said. "Alina, I am nothing but happy, so don't worry about me anymore."
He patted Alina on the shoulder gently and said, "Go and pick a room. Lucas will be upset if we spend time alone for too long."
He turned and went out.
At that moment, Alina burst into tears.
When Annette came to the lake, Marcus was talking to Lucas non-stop.
Seeing Annette come over, Marcus waved his hand and said, "Luna Annette, have you picked a room?"
"Yes. I picked a room with a great view."
Lucas looked around and frowned. "Where is Connor?"
Thinking of the way Alina looked at Connor and the fact that Alina was Lucas' mate, Annette immediately said, "He is in the bathroom. I wanted to get some fresh air, so I came out first."
Just as she finished speaking, Connor opened the door and walked out.
Lucas looked behind Connor and seemed relieved.
Annette smiled, "That's quick. Are you worried that I will run away?"
Connor knew what Annette meant. He smiled and said, "I dare you."
While they were chatting, Alina had already returned.
Marcus put down the fishing rod and said, "Fishing is so boring. Connor, what are we going to do later?"
"Let's go play golf."
Connor looked at Annette and asked, "Can you play golf?"
"No." Annette shook her head.
"Good, then I'll teach you."
Alina walked to Lucas and said, "Golf sounds good. Ms. Hall, you don't know yet, do you? Connor is a very good golfer."
Connor glanced at Alina.
Alina immediately stopped talking and walked behind Lucas' wheelchair. "Lucas, let me do it."
"Forget it. Given my condition, I'll skip. I'll fish here. You guys go ahead," said Lucas.
Annette looked at Connor and smiled, "You may teach me later when you and I go out alone. Let's try something else this time."
Connor looked at Annette with an indulging smile and said, "Alright then. What do you have in mind?"
"Texas Hold'em!" said Annette. "Whoever loses will be handling the barbecue tonight!"
Soon, the waiter brought the cards, and the five began to play.
After playing three rounds in a row, Annette was stunned.
At first, she thought that she was bound to win since she was the only one of them who played Texas Hold'em regularly.
After six rounds, it was obvious who was going to lose.
Annette lost six rounds in a row, Marcus four, and Alina three...
Marcus heaved a sigh of relief and said, "Luna Annette, I'm so glad that you are here. Otherwise, I would have been the cook today. Thank you so much."
Annette got up and went to the waiter to get the ingredients for the barbecue.
Half an hour later, she was already sitting in front of the barbecue rack and getting ready.
Meanwhile, the four were sitting around the table and enjoying their chatting.
Annette was a little mad.
Alina sat for a moment, and then she got up and went to Annette's side.
"Ms. Hall, let me help you," Alina said.
"It's OK, Ms. Grace. I can manage. It's not that hard."
"Connor just said you're a great cook. I guess I'm in for a treat today."
Annette smiled shyly, while Alina sat down beside her to accompany her.
At the round table not far from them, Lucas said after Alina left, "Connor, I heard that you have been targeting Black Thorn Pack recently."
"Yes."
"Why are you targeting them all of a sudden?" Lucas looked at Connor and said, "Do you think it's the right time?"
"Don't you?"
Lucas thought for a moment. Then, with a smile tugged at his lips, he said, "It's time for Black Thorn Pack to pay back the life they owe us."
"If it's for them to pay back that life, they're not suffering enough right now."
Lucas raised his eyebrows. "Yeah? It seems that you want something more."
Connor smiled and said, "Leave it alone, Lucas. I have my own agenda."
Lucas did not say anything else.
At the same time, Alina wanted to help Annette, but she found that there was nothing for her to do.
Annette said, "Ms. Grace, why don't you go over there and rest for a while? I can handle it."
Meanwhile, Connor got up and walked to the barbecue stove.
Alina said, "Connor, you'd better get a chef to handle these things. Ms. Hall is a girl, and you don't want to see her choking on the smoke, right?"
