Annette talked about her plans with Roxanne. She was somewhat worried about her future.
"Don't talk about this for now. Relax for the next two days." Roxanne changed the topic.
"Ladies, do you mind if I sit here?"
Suddenly, a familiar voice came from behind, which shocked Annette and Roxanne.
"Alpha Connor?" Roxanne patted the table and then covered her mouth in disbelief.
Connor was satisfied. That was the normal reaction that a female werewolf should have when she saw him.
Annette stood up and looked at him. Her expression was a little stiff, and she said coldly, "Who do you know I am here?"
"It's not that hard to find you." Connor pushed Annette to the inner seat gently and took her seat.
He said, "What are you waiting for? Sit down."
Annette sat down, obviously depressed.
Roxanne acted more ladylike in front of Connor.
"Alpha Connor, your presence graces the restaurant," Roxanne said with a smile.
Connor looked around the restaurant and smiled, "You're exaggerating."
Annette picked up her knife and fork and continued eating silently.
Ever since Connor appeared, she had never said another word.
In the beginning, Roxanne could still talk to Connor.
However, Connor always ended the topic that she had come up with. Gradually, Roxanne did not know what else to say, so she lowered her head to eat.
After lunch, Roxanne went to settle the bill. The waiter told her that Connor had paid the bill when he came in.
Connor looked at Annette and asked, "Which hotel are we staying at tonight?"
Annette was stunned and replied, "I'm staying at Roxanne's house tonight."
Connor said seriously, "I don't think that's a good idea."
Roxanne saw his solemn expression and looked at Annette nervously.
Annette smiled at Roxanne and said, "Roxanne, I will stay at a hotel tonight. Let's meet tomorrow."
Although Roxanne was a little disappointed, she could not refute it. After all, Annette was rogue. Roxanne was not sure if Annette would alert the guards when she came to pack with her.
"Well, see you tomorrow." Roxanne winked at Annette.
Annette nodded.
Connor asked, "Is there any luggage?"
Roxanne opened the trunk and said, "Yes, it's in my car."
Connor went forward to take Annette's luggage and put it into his car.
He and Annette said goodbye to Roxanne and then got into the car.
Annette remained silent on the way.
And so was Connor.
When they arrived at the hotel, Connor only booked one room.
After hesitating for a moment, Annette said to the receptionist, "I'd like to check in. I want the cheapest one."
It was an expensive hotel and she could hardly afford to stay there.
Connor took two steps forward. He turned back and took away Annette's ID card and her suitcase.
Annette stood there. She hesitated for a moment and then followed him upstairs.
She knew that he was angry.
Connor opened the door of the room and walked in. He stood by the door and looked back at Annette.
After Annette walked in, he closed the door and locked it.
Annette heard the sound of the door being locked and was about to turn back, yet Connor grabbed her wrist and pulled her into the room, throwing her onto the bed.
Annette said nervously, "What do you want?"
"What do you think?"
"Don't mess around."
"You messed around first!" Connor's eyes were gloomy, and his tone was a little cold.
He asked, "Don't contact you again in the future? What did you mean? Why did you leave just like that? Until I get tired of you or I'm dead, or I'll never let you go!"
With an aggrieved look, Annette said, "I am not your slave. I'm not sold to you. Why can't I leave? Connor, you have no right to control me. Who do you think you are to me?"
"I am your mate."
"We did not owe each other that night. I hope that you can keep your distance from me. I don't want to have any more contact with you. If you keep pestering me, I will leave Akron for good," Annette said.
"Alright. If you want to see Roxanne's pack fall, then go ahead and do it," Connor said.
Annette shouted angrily, "Are you threatening me?"
"You threatened me first. To me, the Vought Pack is just a small pack, and I can make it disappear from Canton in less than ten days," Connor sneered.
"You're despicable."
Although Connor was scolded, he didn't care about it.
He said, "As long as you do as I say, I won't do anything to the Vought Pack. Instead, I can even help it grow stronger. Which one do you prefer?"
Annette said helplessly, "Connor, why do you have to push me?"
"You know the answer."
Annette opened her eyes and compromised. "You will let me go as long as I sleep with you, right?"
Connor's smile was dangerous. He stared at her and asked, "In exchange for your freedom?"
Annette bit the bullet and nodded, "Yes."
"No. Don't try to fool me. If I get tired of sleeping with you, I will let you go. It may be a month, a year, ten years, or even longer."
Annette was in despair. She asked, "Are you saying that you'll never let me go?"
"That's right. Anyway, it is not up to you."
Tears filled Annette's eyes. She said, "You know that we are not from the same world. Why do you still insist on us being together? Connor, stop pushing me. And I am not your mate."
Connor caressed her cheek gently with his hand.
