Annette returned home. When she was about to close the door, Connor showed up.
She was a little angry and said, "It suddenly occurred to me that today is not the weekend, so I don't need to cook for you."
Yet she was no match for him in terms of strength at all.
He squeezed in easily and closed the door.
Annette took a few steps back and said without much confidence, "I already said that today is not the weekend."
"I am here to eat. Also, as Marcus' big brother, I'd like to know how he was doing at university today," Connor said calmly.
Annette gritted her teeth and said, "He had lunch with me at noon, saying that you asked him to keep an eye on me. He saw me already. Are you expecting me to believe that he hasn't reported to you yet?"
"He will only report to me when there is something important. By the way, wasn't there anything interesting at school today?" Connor suddenly asked.
Annette thought for a while and said, "You know what? There was one thing."
"Tell me about it," Connor said with great interest.
Annette smiled mischievously, "I told you that Marcus ate with me at noon today, right? Many girls from different packs asked me his name and said he was very handsome. It seemed that Marcus was very popular."
Connor said confidently, "The Blood Moon Pack's genes are always outstanding."
She decided to remain silent.
"What kind of expression is that? Don't you agree with me?" Connor asked.
Annette gave him a thumbs-up and pretended to agree. She said, "Not at all. Since Alpha Connor says so, who dares to say otherwise?"
"I see. So, you don't agree with it. When you mentioned Marcus just now, you seemed to agree with others' comments about him. However, now you are acting two-faced and only say what I hope you say. Why is that? Do you think I'm not good enough?"
Annette was dumbfounded for a second. She thought, 'What kind of logic is that?'
She immediately denied it, "I didn't say that."
Connor looked at her and said, "So, which part of me isn't up to your standard? Am I not caring enough for you? Or am I not good enough in bed?"
She blushed and quickly said, "Will it kill you if you shut up about that night?"
"Why are you always blushing whenever I mention that night? Do you think about it a lot?"
"What the heck are you talking about? I was so drunk that night. I barely remember what happened," Annette was embarrassed and mad.
"So, do you need me to help you recall it?"
He walked towards her after he finished speaking.
Annette immediately walked into the room, trying to keep her distance from him.
"Connor, if you keep doing this, get out right now," Annette threatened.
"The more you threaten me, the more I'm going to go for it," he said, chasing her around the table.
The two chased around the tiny living room a few times.
Annette screamed, "Connor, stop!"
She was next to the sofa. He jumped and threw her firmly onto the sofa.
Seeing him on top of her, Annette quickly covered her breasts.
She looked so nervous. Connor raised the corners of his mouth. He said, "You have one last chance. Tell me, am I not good enough?"
"You are more than good," Annette immediately said.
Connor lowered his head and kissed her on the lips for a while before letting go of her.
Annette was frightened. She blinked and looked at him.
His breathing was a bit heavy. He said, "Still keeping your mouth shut?"
"I never said you were not good enough. I was just amused since you were full of yourself," Annette could only tell the truth.
Connor smiled and said, "I never cared how others thought of me. But now, I want you to say something nice about me."
She said loudly at once, "You are handsome, you have a nice body, and you are the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack. Everyone knows that you are very powerful."
"That's it?"
She thought about it and had no idea what else to say.
Then after a few seconds, she said, "I haven't been around you long enough to know more about you."
He looked at her seriously and said, "Then start to know more about me with all your heart from now on. OK?"
Lying on the sofa, Annette was very nervous.
She could feel the reaction from his lower body.
"Aren't you going to answer me?" he asked.
Annette nodded hastily.
Connor looked down at her soft, rosy lips.
He knew that if things went on like this, he would not be able to control himself anymore.
After staring at her lips for a while, he lowered his head and kissed her lips.
At first, Annette was very tense.
Yet slowly, she relaxed.
Feeling the change in her reaction, Connor found it harder to control himself.
His wolf was roaring in his mind, urging him to mark Annette.
Just as Connor's teeth began to grow, Annette suddenly opened her eyes and looked at him.
Her breathing was a bit unsteady as she quickly said, "Connor."
She tried to calm her breathing.
He pinched her chin gently and made her look at him.
"What do you want to say to me? Tell me while looking into my eyes."
"It's getting late. I'll walk you downstairs..." Annette said shyly.
Looking at her, Connor thought, 'Damn it!
I've got to control myself.
I want her to love me.
It wouldn't be worth it if I spooked her and made her push me further only for a moment of pleasure.'
He stood up.
"You rejected me again," he said, looking at her.
She tidied up her clothes, stood up, and walked to the door. "I'll walk you downstairs."
Annette was too shy to look at Connor's face. He walked to her, and they went downstairs together.
He got in the car and lowered the window. "Tell me if anything upsets you at the university."
Annette nodded and reminded him, "Be safe on the road."
He started the car and drove off.
Annette watched as his car disappeared from her sight. She was about to turn around when the lights of a brand-new black car parked beside her flashed.
Under the streetlights, she could see that the person in the car was Kyle.
Annette clenched her fists since Kyle was staring at her coldly.
She thought, 'How did he know that I live here?'
The two looked at each other through the window.
He did not get out of the car, and she did not come forward to greet him.
A few minutes later, she turned around and walked upstairs silently.
She thought, 'Kyle and I are strangers now.
No matter why he came here, I should not care about it.'
And Kyle did not get out of the car to pester her at all.
