His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 66

Ch. 66 / 264 Apr 07, 2026

When she returned to Werewolf University in the afternoon, Annette called Marcus and told him about Connor's condition.

She thought that Marcus would think for a while, but he agreed instantly.

She was surprised. Wasn't Marcus unwilling to study at Princeton?

Why did he agree so quickly?

She shook her head and let it go.

In the evening, Annette left Werewolf University and took a bus home.

Upon arriving at the apartment building, she saw two men in black walking toward her.

She stood still and looked at the familiar car behind them. She was somewhat agitated.

One of them stepped forward and said, "Ms. Fisher, Alpha Lance asks you to go home for a chat."

Even if Annette refused, she would be dragged into the car anyway.

Annette simply followed them into the car with a calm face.

After being taken to the Black Thorn Pack, she got out of the car and walked in.

Leslie and Austin were not there.

In the living room, only Lance and a young man were sitting on the sofa, chatting.

As Lance saw Annette, he put on a rare smile on his face and said, "Ann, you're back."

Annette said with a serious expression, "Since you have a guest, maybe I should go."

"Come over and have a seat. I will introduce you to each other. The Alpha of the Wintering Pack is my friend. This is Beta's son, Damon Goodman. He is now the financial supervisor of Alpha Wintering's company. Damon, this is my niece, Annette Fisher."

As soon as Damon saw Annette, his eyes were fixed on her.

Damon knew that Annette was not his mate. But as a werewolf, he could not resist such a beautiful she-wolf.

Damon didn't care about finding his mate. He thought that the so-called fate was far-fetched. He preferred choosing a woman he liked to be his mate.

Lance was very satisfied with Damon's reaction.

Damon stood up and walked towards Annette. He extended his hand and said, "Ms. Fisher, Alpha Lance told me about you many times. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."

Annette looked at him warily and took a step back.

Damon put down his hand awkwardly and smiled. "Ms. Fisher, let's take a seat."

"Mr. Goodman, well, my surname is not Fisher but Hall, and..."

She looked at Lance and immediately understood what he meant.

She sneered and said, "It's not a good thing to know me."

Damon smiled and said, "Ms. Fisher really likes to joke around."

Annette said coldly, "Mr. Goodman, is that so hard to understand? I said my surname is Hall."

  Damon was embarrassed.

Lance said unhappily, "This is Damon's first visit to our home. Don't be a child. Damon, please don't mind. Annette is a bit spoiled. You will get to know her better after a while."

Damon smiled. "Ann has a distinct personality. It's good."

Annette held back the anger in her heart and said, "Mr. Goodman, I don't think you should call me Ann since this is the first time we met."

Damon was embarrassed again. He quickly said, "Sorry. I just heard Alpha call you this way."

  "Please call me Ms. Hall."

Annette walked around Damon and sat down on the sofa. She crossed her legs, picked up an apple, and took a bite.

Lance glared at Annette. He said, "Damon, please sit over here."

Damon forced a smile and walked over.

Damon thought that a beautiful woman could be hard to handle.

He had heard from Lance that his niece was very beautiful. But Annette's appearance still stunned him.

He was more than satisfied with her look.

"Ms. Hall, I've heard from Alpha Lance that you are a teacher in college. What do you teach?"

"I am not a teacher. I am just doing some chores there," Annette said casually.

Lance gritted his teeth and glared at Annette again. He knew that she would not cooperate.

"Annette, you can't always act like a child. Mind your words," Lance said.

"Alpha Lance, may I ask what is the purpose of inviting me here today?"

"Damon is a good man, so I wanted to introduce you to each other," Lance said.

"Oh? Is that so?" Annette looked Damon up and down.

Damon felt a little awkward when being sized up by her.

Annette said, "Well, it seems that Mr. Goodman is a nice guy. Alpha Lance, I think you should introduce him to your daughter."

Lance's face suddenly turned sullen at Annette's words.

"Annette, you should learn to be grateful." Lance's tone was full of anger.

"Really? You shouldn't introduce such a good man to someone like me. Jessica is the apple of your eye, while I am just a bitch to you. You said you admired Mr. Goodman, but you introduced me to him. Are you sure you really like Mr. Goodman? Or do you think Mr. Goodman is only worthy of a bitch like me, not your daughter?"

  Annette's words embarrassed Lance.

Damon turned to look at Lance.

Lance hurriedly said, "Damon, don't listen to Annette's nonsense. She is just not prepared for this."

Damon curved up his lips and forced a stiff smile.

The door to the study in the corner of the first floor suddenly opened.

Jessica walked out of the study aggressively towards Annette.

She pointed at Annette and shouted, "Annette, you shameless bitch. Why do you care about my business? You should be thankful that you get to know Damon. Do you think you even deserve him?"

"Well, I don't. But you do. So, why don't you be Damon's mate?"

  Annette took a step back.

  Jessica pushed Annette angrily.

Annette did not expect Jessica to attack her. She staggered backward and fell to the ground.

Damon stepped forward to help Annette to get up.

At this moment, Austin returned home.
