CHAPTER 15 (WRONG DELIVERY)

Ch. 15 / 234 Mar 29, 2026

Jessie shrugged.

“Maybe it’s a delivery? You ordered something online recently, didn’t you?”

Beauty thought for a moment before shaking her head, very certain of herself.

“No, I don’t think so. Could be my parents… but they said they would be back in two days.”

“Well, just go check it out. I don’t need a distraction; I am focused on this book, it's really interesting. I can't pause reading it now and I am on a page of erotica so I don't need a distraction, I have to visualize this moment and put myself into the book, I want to be touched by Mr Antonio.” Jessie instructed.

“Fine, I will go”

Beauty rolled her eyes and walked to the front door.

Getting to the door, she took a deep breath and opened the door slowly.

Her eyes widened when she saw a delivery man and woman standing on her porch.

The delivery woman was holding a giant bouquet of roses and a special gift box with a red ribbon, a bright smile on her face.

The man was holding bags of food from a famous online eatery.

Well, what do we have here? Wrong address, I guess, Beauty said to herself.

She had never received a gift like this before. Not ever, well, apart from the regular birthday gifts from her parents and also from Jessie. This is strange.

She waved her hands awkwardly at the delivery man.

“Oh, wow! This must be some kind of mistake. I mean this can't be mine. It's not for me.”

“Delivery for Ms. Beauty?” the man announced.

Beauty’s confusion deepened when they mentioned her name; her mind completely went blank.

Could it be another Beauty?

There's no way!

“Please sign here,” the man requested.

Beauty blinked.

“I… I can’t accept this. There must be a mistake… somewhere…” she stuttered.

“You are not Ms. Beauty?” the delivery man asked, now looking confused.

“I am Beauty, but I am not expecting any delivery, so you know…it's not for me” she replied nervously.

“Well, that’s expected to happen because it’s a surprise delivery and anonymous with a note: ‘You are beautiful the way you are.”

Beauty chuckled awkwardly.

“Yeah, beautiful? That’s definitely not me…”

Jessie called from inside, wondering what was taking her so long.

“Beauty! … Have you been kidnapped? Can they at least exchange you for a plate of food? I am starving!”

“You are embarrassing, Jessie!” Beauty snapped back, then smiled awkwardly at the delivery people in front of her.

“What is keeping you?” Jessie groaned and walked to the door.

As soon as she got there, her eyes widened when she saw the gifts and the delivery people.

“Girl, this is romantic! And so beautiful… I can smell food! Perfect delivery at the perfect time. You have an admirer, and you never mentioned it to me!”

Beauty’s face grew hot with embarrassment.

“I… I don’t know who could have sent this, and I don’t have an admirer! That’s weird. It must be a mistake,” she said, feeling a flutter in her chest.

“What kind of mistake? And what do you mean weird… that you have a secret admirer?” Jessie asked with a frown, her arms folded.

“Yes, and let’s not go into details. You know what makes this weird, okay? And secondly, maybe it’s for another Beauty,” Beauty replied with a bright smile, as if she had just solved a hard math problem.

The delivery man checked the address on the package.

“Nope, this is the right address.”

“Check again, please,” Beauty replied.

Jessie just rolled her eyes.

“Don’t be silly, Beauty. This is obviously meant for you. Besides, who sends a gift this epic to the wrong address?”

Just then, she tore open the package, revealing a spread of gourmet foods and snacks.

“Ooh, is that truffle cheese? I love truffle cheese!”

Beauty was dumbfounded by her actions.

“What! Jessie, why did you do that? I intended to reject those!” she shouted.

“Rejecting them? Are you crazy? Who rejects gifts, especially this type of gift? Do you need a brain reset slap?” Jessie snapped, her mouth already filled with a chocolate bar.

Beauty frowned at her.

“Girl, you have to accept it! It’s too good to pass up!” Jessie added unapologetically.

The delivery man smiled at Jessie and handed Beauty the receipt.

“Sign here, please. It’s already paid for.”

Beauty hesitated, but she had no choice—Jessie had already opened the box and started eating from it.

She signed the receipt, feeling a mix of emotions: surprise, gratitude, and a hint of curiosity about who could have sent such a gift. Also, nervous!

What if it’s for someone else?

No one will ever give me a romantic box of gifts, she thought.

“Here is your bouquet of roses. You have such a sweet secret admirer,” the delivery woman said, handing the bouquet to Beauty with a wink.

“Tha… Thanks, I guess,” Beauty replied awkwardly and grabbed the big bouquet.

As the delivery man and woman left, Beauty turned to Jessie.

“You’re such a bad influence, you know that?”

Jessie grinned back, munching on a snack.

They carried the packages and bouquet inside.

Beauty’s living room was suddenly filled with the sweet scent of roses and the sight of elegant packaging.

Jessie couldn’t stop raving about the food, while Beauty’s mind was still reeling from the surprise delivery.

“Girl, this is insane! Who do you know who would send this? Think… there must be a hint,” Jessie said, digging into the snacks.
