Harmony
I feel nervous for Jaheim. Not because my parents are savage or anything, but because when I put myself in his situation, I’d be hella anxious. Meeting his sister and grandmother was nerve-wracking enough.
There really isn't anything to worry about, though, and I know that. If anything, Uncle C is the most serious of all my uncles, and besides, Jaheim's my mate, and my parents are all the way happy for me. I haven't forgotten how mom and my aunt were gushing about it when I told them about Jaheim.
And he's told me he loves me now, which makes me smile my face off every time I think about it. When he whispered that against my neck, I almost had a heart attack. A happy one, though. I've felt like I've wanted to tell him for a few days anyway, so when he told me, it was an opening to tell him I felt the same.
It's crazy cuz we've literally only known each other for a short amount of time, but that ware bond is next level deep already. My whole life revolves around him, and now I understand why mates are always so reluctant to ever be apart.
I think him marking me has sped up the process, too. I feel him inside me even if his dick ain't. He's underneath my skin, in every fibre of my being, settled firmly inside my heart. I swear, I’d do anything for him.
Anything at all.
“My parents were at my uncle’s house yesterday when I got back from the hold with Ella. They kinda know what happened. I hope that’s okay?”
He rests a hand on my thigh. “Stop worrying, Princess. I don’t care about any of that shit.”
I release a relieved breath. “Okay, good. I just don’t want you to think I’m talking all your business. I won’t tell them you like to tie me up and spank me, though. We’ll keep that between us.”
He cracks up laughing at that. “Yeah, maybe not tell them that. I don’t want them chasing me away, or beating my ass either.”
I scoff. “They wouldn’t fucking touch you. They know better.”
“So protective,” he says quietly.
“Damn right, I am. No one’s allowed to touch you.”
He smiles. “Calm your ass down. I’m the one doing the protecting, at least until you hit twenty.”
My heart flutters at that. “Changed or not, I won’t let anyone hurt you.”
He quickly glances at me. “I know.”
“Good. And another warning, my parents, well, not my Mom at the moment, but my Dad smokes a lot of weed.”
“Do you smoke it?”
“Yeah, but you’ve been distracting me.” I haven’t even missed it… “Do you smoke?”
“I have a couple times. If you wanna smoke, Princess, smoke. I’m not about to start telling you what you can and can’t do. Besides, you’re still human, so it will just make things more interesting, exploring your body while you’re under the influence.”
My pussy straight flutters. “Oh, yeah?”
I see him smile. “Yeah.”
“I’ll bear that in mind.”
Once Jaheim parks up outside mine, we leave the car and head inside the house. I hold his hand for comfort and mom and dad quickly appear in the hallway to greet us.
“Mom, Dad, this is Jaheim. Jaheim, these are my parents, Ashley and Marquis.”
Dad steps forward first. “We ain’t that formal. Call me Quis. Good to meet you, Jaheim.”
“Likewise,” Jaheim replies, shaking his hand.
Mom pulls him into a hug, and I roll my eyes. “Call me Asha. We're so happy to finally meet you. Harmony’s told us so much about you. And we’re so happy to hear you found your sister and grandmother, too. It must have been such a special moment for you.” She releases him and I watch Jaheim look a little awkward, even though he's smiling.
“Thank you. It was. Congratulations on the baby.”
Mom smiles even harder. “Thank you.”
“Can you smell it on her?” I ask him.
“Yeah.”
“Hey, no sniffing my wife,” Dad jokes.
Jaheim holds his hands up as we all laugh. “I wouldn’t dare.”
“I’m just messin’. We know all this is a new experience for you. How was it meeting my brother? Hell, how was it meeting another ware for the first time?”
Jaheim gives dad a genuine smile now. “It was an experience.”
“I bet.”
“And what did you think of the hold? The smell is intense, isn't it?” Mom smirks.
“Very. I'm still shocked there are so many of you, us. I guess I was kinda resigned to the fact I was the only one.”
Dad nods in understanding. “I'm not surprised. Eight years is a long time.”
Jaheim looks miles away for a second. “It is.”
“Anyway, you want a drink? I have some homebrewed shit here that will calm the ‘meet the parents’ nerves.”
Jaheim laughs. “I'm not actually nervous, but I wouldn't say no to a drink that I could actually feel.”
“You’ve come to the right place, then,” Mom says.
We follow them into the kitchen and I discretely ask Jaheim if he's okay. He just smiles and tightens his grip on my hand.
Okay, this is good. All the way good, so far…
Dad makes us all a drink—I have wine—and then we sit in the front room. “So, you liked the land?” Dad asks.
“We loved it,” I answer.
“It was perfect,” Jaheim adds.
“Good. And when are you thinking of starting the build?”
“ASAP,” Jaheim answers. “I'm not going back to Ontario to live.”
Mom smiles like crazy, but so do I.
“We have a team we use for builds. Depending how big you’re thinking of having the house, it could be done within a matter of weeks,” Dad tells him. “Maybe you could come over one day in the week while Harmony's at school and we could talk about it?”
“Sure. Harmony and I have some ideas. We'll settle on them tonight and I could come over after I drop her at school tomorrow?”
“Good with us.”
“I've asked Harmony to come to New York with me next week. I have a property there I'd like to see before I buy.”
Mom smiles again, and I shake my head, but I'm still smiling, too.
“What about school?” Dad asks.
“My exams finish Wednesday. Jaheim said we'll leave in the evening.”
“Alright.” He looks back at Jaheim. “I dunno if Harmony's told you, but my brother owns an airline. If you ever need flights at short notice, use them. The pilots are all wares.”
“She did mention it, but… damn, I never realised it was like that.”
Mom and Dad laugh.
“My Aunt bought it for him as a wedding present.”
“I see.”
“Helicopters, too, so if you need to make any trips, just call Joe. I’ll give you the number. He'll sort you out. It comes in handy if you ever need to jump out of a plane.”
“You’ve jumped out of a plane?”
Dad chuckles. “A few times.”
Jaheim sips his drink and I can see the surprise from both dad’s answer and how strong the liquor is. “Well, thanks. I appreciate it. I travel quite a lot for business.”
“So there you go. Least it will be used. Now everything's settled down again after Maximus, the fleet won't be getting much use.” He looks at me.
“I told him.”
“Good.”
“What do you think of the homebrew?” Mom asks Jaheim.
“It’s the strongest thing I’ve sipped for a long time.” He gives me a look. I wonder if he’s comparing the drink’s strength to my pussy juice.
“You can take some home with you. Are you staying for lunch?”
“Whatever Harmony wants to do.”
“Yeah, Mom. Lunch would be good. I need to study later, though, so I can’t stay too late.”
“That’s okay. Wanna help? Leave the boys to talk house?”
I nod. “Yeah.”

I help Mom cook while Dad and Jaheim sit in the front room and talk. Jaheim's really open with my dad, even on the personal questions about his parents and first change. He tells him all about his sister and grandma, even about him being into the Dom life.
Joke.
I wonder what my parents would think about his lifestyle. I haven't brought it up to Jaheim yet, but it's clear from all the props we've been fucking around with this week that he's into that shit. I just don’t know how deep.
Like I've said, I might be young, but I sure as hell ain't dumb.
I wonder why he ain't mentioned it to me. I mean, he’s assumed I’d be up for it all and he’s assumed right, but I guess maybe he's waiting for me to bring it up? Which is fine because I plan to. I wanna know how he got into it and why.
He suddenly appears behind me in the kitchen and wraps his arms around my waist. He quickly kisses my neck and I smile. “You okay? Need any help?”
“I think we're almost done. A lot of this stuff kinda cooks itself.”
“How long we got?”
I turn in his arms. “About an hour.”
He’s smiling, and his amber eyes are light as fuck. “Alright. Your Dad's asked me to go for a hunt…”
Excitement literally fires through me. “I wanna see you change.”
His eyes darken now. I wonder if it’s because I told him I wanted to suck his dick like it. “Is that so, Princess?”
I smile. “Yeah.”
“My, God. You two are so cute,” I hear mom gushing behind me.
I smile harder and Jaheim's eyes light up almost yellow. I can’t keep track of his moods…
“Come on then, Jah. Let's go.”
Shit, my dad's given him a nickname already, too. The hell have I missed in there?
“I’m ready.” He takes my hand and we follow dad towards the back door, but he stops. “I ain't got a change of clothes with me.”
“I'll stay inside until you've shifted,” Mom says, stopping in her tracks. “That way you can take your clothes off first.”
“Alright. Thanks.”
We go outside and dad shifts straight away, his clothes falling away from his body in shreds. Jaheim looks surprised as he starts stripping, but I remember this is the first time he's seen another one of him in ware form.
“Believe me now?”
He gives me a look. “I always believed you.”
I smile as I take his clothes from him. It's not too cold out here; the sun is even out, and my excitement at seeing Jaheim in his ware form has my adrenaline pumping like crazy.
He kisses my forehead before stepping back. He looks anxious now.
“Hurry up then,” I say, smirking. “I been waiting to see this.”
He looks over at Dad, but he’s already disappearing into the woods. “I know.”
“So what you waiting for? You know how I feel about you in ware form.”
He laughs but then shakes his head. “Not now.”
“Sorry.” Ugh, I don't need him getting hard in front of dad. That would be embarrassing as fuck.
He shifts and my heart all the way flutters. And there he is, towering over me, magnificent, just like I imagined he'd be. He's a good mix of black and grey all over, but his paws are mostly black, like gloves. His eyes are dark like all wares, and his scent… lawd, I ain’t even a ware yet, but his scent is fucking life.
He’s got my heart racing out of control right now, and I don’t know if it’s the heat from his body making me hot as hell, or if it’s the fact I find him so damn attractive and should find it weird but don’t.
“Go,” I tell him, resisting the urge to run my fingers through his fur. “I'll get a proper look when you get back.”
He releases a low growl that I know translates to an ‘okay’ and then he runs to find dad, disappearing into the woods.
I release a deep breath as I pick up Jaheim’s shoes and then turn to see mom watching me from the door.
She’s giving me a knowing look. “What do you think?”
I walk towards her. “You don't wanna know.”
She laughs. “All good then. I remember the first time your dad changed in front of me.” She looks lost to her thoughts for a moment. “That changed everything. I think that's when I made the decision to change.”
We go inside. “He told me he loves me.”
She turns around to face me. “That's obvious. He can barely take his eyes off you. Or his hands.”
That makes me hella happy. “He doesn't like that side of him. I understand why, but I've noticed that's changing. I've been trying my hardest to turn his way of thinking around, and now he's met his other family and all of you, I'm hoping he'll start to enjoy being one of us.”
“Poor boy. I can't imagine what he's been through.” She holds me at arm’s length. “He will come around. Have you...”
I shake my head. “No. Not yet. I'm giving him time to build up his restraint. I know it must be hard for him.” I laugh after realising what I’ve said.
She chuckles. “It must.”
“It doesn't matter too much at the moment anyway. He's good at other things.”
She releases my arms and looks away. “Too much, Sweetheart.”
I laugh. “Sorry, Mom.”
