Accidentally Slept With The Ruthless Billionaire

Chapter 527: Plane Crash

Ch. 527 / 630 Apr 22, 2026

After getting the ruby necklace, Wyatt started his trip back.

No one knew the plane he boarded would crash.

As soon as it happened, the news spread fast. Reporters shared updates, and rescue teams rushed to the scene. But the chances of survival were slim.

It didn’t take long before the incident went viral online.

When Dave saw the news, he quickly called the airline. He had to know if Wyatt was really on that flight.

Once they confirmed it, Dave felt like he had been hit by lightning. He couldn’t move. It was like all the life had drained out of him.

He still couldn’t believe it. He called Wyatt again, but there was no answer.

Dave stared out the window, fists clenched. The sky looked so calm, but his heart was in chaos. How could Wyatt be gone like this?

He couldn’t sit there and wait for the news. He rushed to the airline’s headquarters to check everything himself. The ticket records and surveillance footage confirmed that Wyatt had boarded that flight. Dave felt his knees weaken. He almost couldn’t stand.

“Sir, please stay calm,” one of the staff said gently. “Rescue teams are already—”

Dave didn’t hear the rest. His mind had gone blank. He was drowning in grief.

He had done everything to make sure Wyatt would be safe. He’d checked the airline’s background carefully. It had a clean record and no crashes for fifty years.

And now, the very first one… happened with Wyatt on board.

The plane remained on its planned route. There was no bad weather along the way.

According to the records, neither the captain nor the co-pilot reported any problems to air traffic control.

Even if something went wrong, the plane had modern systems and autopilot to help avoid a crash. But this one still ended up crashing into the ocean without warning.

The black box hadn’t been found yet. No one knew what really happened.

But Dave couldn’t accept that Wyatt was gone.

Back in his office, he gathered his team. He called in every favor he could. He was determined to find out the truth behind the crash.

They looked into everything: the pre-flight safety checks, the crew’s backgrounds, and who they’d been in contact with. They also checked their bank accounts for any large or strange transactions.

In the end, they didn’t find much. Just a few weak leads.

But one detail stood out. The co-pilot had a gambling problem. He was drowning in debt, and his family was struggling because of it. Strangely, just before the flight, someone had cleared all his debts and sent a large amount of money to his wife and kids.

“Find out exactly where that money came from,” Dave told his team firmly.

Suddenly, he felt hot and uncomfortable. He loosened his tie. Outside, dark clouds were forming. Rain was on the way.

Dave couldn’t accept that Wyatt had died without knowing the real reason why.

He leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. His mind drifted to the last time he saw Wyatt, so full of life, promising to finish his mission and come back.

Then his team interrupted the silence.

“We found it! The money was routed through several channels, but it all started from the Evans Group. That’s the source. Nothing goes further than that.”

Dave’s eyes narrowed.

“I see,” he muttered.

He knew exactly who was behind it.

Only one person had the power to move that kind of money through the Evans Group.

It was his grandfather, Lucas.

Deep down, Dave had always suspected his grandfather. But he didn’t want to believe it. Now, the truth was staring him in the face.

Outside, the rain began tapping against the window, echoing the storm building inside him.

He should’ve known. He had doubts back when Zane died. He thought his grandfather might’ve been involved. But because of family, he let it go.

If only he had pushed harder back then, maybe things wouldn’t have reached this point.

Now Wyatt was gone—his most trusted man. And for what? Just so his grandfather could tighten his control on him.

It wasn’t just Wyatt. An entire plane full of innocent people had died.

Dave’s face turned cold as he remembered his childhood. He’d been raised under his grandfather’s roof. In the Evans family, Lucas ruled like a tyrant. No one dared challenge him.

Those who did paid the price.

And Dave? He had suffered the most.

“Dave, everything I did was to make you stronger. How else would you be ready to take my place?”

Dave snapped out of his thoughts. He knew that voice too well. And he knew what it meant.

This wasn’t the end. It was just the beginning.

His grandfather wouldn’t stop here. To force him back to the Evans Group, he’d strike again. And the next target?

Could it be Bianca?

The idea alone made his blood run cold.

If his grandfather could crash an entire plane, what couldn’t he do?

Without wasting a second, Dave called Bianca.

But she didn’t pick up.

How could this happen?

Dave’s hands shook as he held his phone. Just then, Bianca’s name popped up on the screen. The sudden call startled him, but he picked up right away.

“Why didn’t you answer earlier when I called?” His voice was sharp.

There was a short pause before Bianca replied, “I just went out shortly. I left my phone in the office.”

Hearing her voice helped him feel a bit better. But deep inside, his heart was still restless.

He just wanted to see her now.

“Where are you right now?” he asked.

“I’m at the office,” Bianca replied.

Thirty minutes later, Dave was standing outside her company.

When Bianca stepped out, she saw him waiting. His black coat moved gently with the wind. A smile spread across her face as warmth filled her chest.

But as she walked closer, her smile slowly faded.

Dave looked troubled. His face was gloomy and heavy.

No matter what happened in the past, Dave was never like this. He was always calm and sure of himself. But now, something had changed.

“Dave, what’s wrong?” Bianca asked softly.

“It’s nothing,” he said with a shrug. “Maybe I’m just tired.”

Bianca didn’t believe him. “Did something happen?”

She could tell he was hiding something.

Dave’s mind was in chaos. Even if he tried to explain, he didn’t know where to start.

Just then, Dave’s eyes landed on Bianca’s bare neck.

“Did you pawn that red diamond necklace?” he asked.
