Unwanted Mate

Chapter 96

Ch. 96 / 165 Jun 23, 2025

Jeremy's lips curled into a sneer as he closed in on the werewolf. "So, you weren't sleeping," he said, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

The werewolf shrugged, his eyes glinting with a mix of defiance and wariness. "I call it self-preservation." Then he looked at the ropes that bound him and raised an unimpressed eyebrow. "You know I'm a werewolf, right? You do realize I can transform and break free from these ropes and escape, don't you?"

Jeremy's gaze flickered over the ropes that bound the werewolf's wrists and ankles. "You know I'm a werewolf too, right?" He said, his voice laced with a hint of threat. "If you try to escape, I'll track you down. And trust me, you won't want to be caught a second time."

"So confident…" The werewolf drawled. A wry smile twisted his lips as he sized up Jeremy, his gaze sweeping over him from head to toe.

Jeremy shifted a bit uncomfortably under his intense scrutiny, feeling a knot of unease twist in his stomach. The werewolf's face was strangely androgynous, with delicate features that belied his raw power. But his Adam's apple jutted out from his throat in a way that left no doubt about his gender. Jeremy had never encountered someone like this before. For a while, he couldn't help but feel a bit disoriented by the contradiction.

Clearing his throat, Jeremy tried to shake off his unease. "Hey, that's not the point," he said, his tone brusque. "Just tell me where those rogues are."

The werewolf raised an eyebrow, his expression inscrutable. "Is that how you ask people for a favor?" he said, a hint of amusement flickering in his eyes. "And don't call me 'hey.' My name is Nick."

Suddenly, Jeremy was a bit impatient. At this rate, he wasn't going to get anywhere. He took a deep breath, trying to rein in his anger. But as he leaned forward, slamming his hand down on the table with a loud thud, his patience snapped. "Okay, Nick," he growled. "Please tell me where they are, or I swear to Goddess, you'll regret making me mad."

Nick didn't flinch, but a hint of apprehension flickered in his eyes as he looked at Jeremy. He leaned back and looked at Jeremy thoughtfully. "It seems like you're in a hurry now. If you want the answer from me, you need to mind your attitude."

"You're the one who's tied to the chair, captive. And my patience is short." Jeremy threatened.

But Nick didn't seem intimidated at all. Instead, he kept holding his head high and locking his gaze on Jeremy.

As Jeremy stared down at his face, he wondered if the werewolf was wearing makeup. He frowned and shifted his gaze back to the table.

"Fine," Jeremy said. "If you don't spill it, then I'll just have to crush the things you bought first."

A hint of hesitation flashed across Nick's face and soon disappeared, but Jeremy didn't miss it. Nick straightened his back and turned his head as if he didn't care at all.

His luscious locks of hair cascaded over his shoulders, radiating a soft glow in the light. Jeremy squinted his eyes at this graceful and lustrous hair. The hair was so long and flowing, and it was obvious that the werewolf put a lot of effort into maintaining it. Jeremy suddenly remembered the wooden comb that Nick had bargained for with the vendor earlier. It seemed that the man was quite conscious of his hair care routine.

Jeremy smirked at the thought, but that smile seemed to put Nick on edge.

"What do you want?" Nick asked warily. "You're not going to rape me, are you? Even though you're pretty good-looking, you're not my type."

"What?" Jeremy's jaw dropped to the floor. "No, no, that's not it! What the fuck?" he stammered.

Nick's interruption derailed Jeremy's train of thought, and he momentarily forgot what he wanted to say. He coughed and cleared his throat, trying to regain his composure. "Okay, well, since you don't seem to care about the things you bought, I'll just throw them away then. And I think your hair looks pretty nice, so I might just shave it off," he said with a sly grin.

"What?! You wouldn't dare! If you ever lay a finger on my hair, I won't let you get away with it!" Nick shouted.

"Oh I'm so scared," Jeremy said, his mouth forming a smirk. He partially transformed and revealed his sharp claws. He took a step closer to the wolf.

"Okay, okay, I'll talk!" Nick cried out, "Just put your claws away and don't touch my fucking hair."

Jeremy couldn't believe how quickly he had gotten the answer he wanted. The interrogation process seemed like a joke, and he never imagined that it could be this way. He thought he would have to draw some blood to get Nick to talk, but it turned out to be much easier than he had expected.

And the fact that Nick gave in so easily made him wonder if he had targeted the right person. Nick was clearly a werewolf, and yet he didn't seem to have any loyalty to his pack.

"Wait, are you a member of the rogues or not?" Jeremy's voice was tinged with suspicion as he took a step back, eyeing Nick's face with caution.

Nick's eyes widened, almost as if he were surprised by the question. "Of course not," he replied indignantly, his hand flying up to flick his hair back. "Do I look like one of those brutes to you? Sure, I may have had a decent night with one of them, but that doesn't make me a part of their gang."

Jeremy didn't think too deeply about what the said decent night might entail, but he couldn't ignore the way Nick was him up and down. Jeremy suddenly felt his ears turning red. "Alright, let's cut to the chase. Where are they?"

This time, Nick didn't beat around the bush and told Jeremy their location.

Jeremy's eyes narrowed. "I'm not so sure I can trust you," he said, taking a step closer to Nick.

Nick's smile faltered for a moment, replaced by a look of slight panic. "What are you talking about? I'm telling you the truth. Now, will you please untie me? Though I don't mind being tied up, it's been a while since I've been treated like this." There was a hint of flirtation in his tone, which made Jeremy's skin crawl and his eyes widened.

Jeremy hesitated, his eyes flicking over Nick's restrained form. "I don't know if I should," he said slowly.

  "Very kinky…" Nick drawled.

"Mainly because I can't tell if what you're saying is true or not. If I come back and find out you lied, you'll be sorry."

"But I told you the truth!" Nick puffed his chest as if offended that Jeremy was doubting him, but seeing Jeremy approach him, there was suddenly a hint of panic in his eyes. "Wait, what are you doing? Don't knock me out again."

Seeing the look in Jeremy's eyes, Nick made a sudden move, trying to break free from his restraints. Jeremy reacted quickly, knocking him out and locking him in the room before turning to head to the place Nick said.
