Unwanted Mate

Chapter 94

Ch. 94 / 165 Jun 23, 2025

Jeremy stepped into the darkness outside, where the moon in the sky emitted a pale light.

The moon wasn't perfectly round, and the moonlight wasn't particularly bright. However, without the window to block its path, the moonlight fell directly onto Jeremy's body, casting an eerie glow over him. He gazed intently at the moon as if possessed by it. He couldn't hear the night's wind or the chirping of insects. All his senses were focused on the moon above.

At that moment, his wolf seemed to sync with his pace and lifted his head to stare at the moon just like Jeremy.

With his eyes closed, he could feel the moon's shadow falling upon him. He stretched out his hand, lowered his gaze, and matched his movements with those of his wolf, feeling the stretch of his muscles and bones. When he opened his eyes, his wolf had taken complete control of his body.

This was the first time that Jeremy had used the power of the moon to help him transform, and he could feel something different in this shift. His footsteps seemed to be heavier.

Jeremy's nose explored the air, searching for any possible clues. He couldn't smell Celeste anywhere. However, now that he was a wolf, he could feel the connection between Celeste and his made bond more clearly, and he was more certain that Celeste wasn't too far away.

Moreover, their bond told him that Celeste was not in any immediate danger. That bastard didn't harm Celeste. But then he realized that this only proved that Celeste had willingly gone with that bastard. His momentary relief plummeted.

He lowered his head to search for footprints and traces left in the air. He could smell Kent's scent, but the trail of this smell was very chaotic. He followed the scent to the road, into the woods, and back out onto the road. The smell became increasingly faint until it disappeared completely on the roadside. Jeremy had no way of tracking his whereabouts.

Jeremy paced back and forth restlessly. He felt like he was at a standstill, with no leads to follow and no direction to go. He was lost in the moment, his mind clouded with uncertainty.

He looked up at the sky. A thin veil of clouds drifted in, casting the moon in an eerie, otherworldly glow. When the cloud dissipated, Jeremy stared up at the moon, hoping for some kind of guidance or sign from Moon Goddess. But the moon remained silent and distant.

Overwhelmed by the pressure and frustration, Jeremy let out a long, mournful howl. The sound echoed through the empty streets, carrying the weight of his worries and fears.

In a moment of desperation, he ran into the woods, seeking solace in the quiet embrace of nature. He pushed himself until he was exhausted, his muscles aching and his lungs burning. Only then did he return to the warehouse, feeling drained and defeated.

The next day, Jeremy gathered with the other werewolves, his face still marked by the restless night he had spent. He saw the concern and worry etched into everyone's face.

All the werewolves were concerned about Celeste's safety. When Jeremy assured them that Celeste was safe, they all breathed a sigh of relief. Even though they all wanted to find Celeste, Jeremy thought it would be best for them to stay put as he believed they would not be much help. He suggested that they return home and that he would stay behind to investigate any leads.

"No, what if you're in danger?" Emma asked, with a worried expression. Ben grabbed Emma's arm and shook his head.

"More helping hands don't necessarily mean we'll find her faster. I'll be cautious, and I'll let you know if I find anything. If I need your help, I'll call you back," Jeremy replied. "Besides, our pack still isn't entirely safe from hunters. We need you there. You should go back."

Although the werewolves were uncertain and worried, they respected Jeremy's decision and left. As they left, Jeremy took a deep breath and prepared himself for the task ahead. He knew that it was going to be a long and difficult journey, but he was determined to see it through. With a sense of purpose and resolve, he set out to find Celeste's trail.

Although he was unable to track down Kent and Celeste directly, he knew that if he could find other rogues in the town, there was a good chance that they would lead him to Celeste.

With great care, Jeremy began to search around, inquiring if anyone had noticed anything unusual in the area. Had anyone seen any wolves or those who used to live in the warehouse. By day, he scoured the city for any clues while at night, he transformed into a wolf and searched the forest for other werewolves.

But despite his best efforts, he found nothing. It was as though the city was devoid of any werewolves.

As the days passed, Jeremy grew increasingly anxious. He was worried that the group of rogues might have left the city, and he had no way of finding them. Every day, he turned to his mate bond with Celeste, trying to locate her distance. Fortunately, Celeste was still in the city, but the days of fruitless searching had made him impatient.

It seemed that luck was not on his side. Frustrated and impatient, Jeremy began to worry that he might go insane if he didn't find any clues soon.

But fortunately, the moon goddess seemed to have heard his curses and threats in his dreams every night, and finally gave him a clue.

Today, as he was passing over a bridge, he caught a whiff of a unique scent. The scent was covered by the perfume, but he had no doubt that it was from a werewolf. Jeremy's blood boiled with excitement.

Finally, after days of fruitless searching, he had a lead.
