Triumph Of My Cheating Husband

Chapter 10

Ch. 10 / 196 Sep 18, 2024

Ryan sighed for the umpteen times and constantly rubbed his temple. His head was crammed up -packed with different jumbled thoughts of a wide variety, and they seem too tough for him to sort out.

Everything was and used to head on very easy and fine, his great relationship with his mother was intact even though she used to be strict then too. All of a sudden, it seems like everything started colliding with one another -that was after he introduced Anne to her.

For the reason best regarded to her alone, she vigorously kicked in opposition to his relationship with Anne without giving him any good purpose behind her rash action.

At first, he had thought she was only trying to tug his legs, maybe to see how he would react towards it, but instead of things getting better-it could only keep getting sore as time went on.

Against his consent, she commenced placing him up on different blind dates, even when none turned out as she desired. However, despite everything of these, she did not stop in her matchmaking -things only got more complex after his close-to-death accident.

Even in his susceptible state at the hospital, his mother had threatened him to sign the marriage agreement with Ciara, else she would deprive him of his right of being the subsequent Lemmer's inheritor-neither would he be able to step feet near his family's assets nor have to get right of entry to it.

"You don't want to try me, or do you?" She added to her words, the glaciers in her eyes don't seem like they are melting anytime soon. "-I'm retaining to my words, you should think twice before acting irrationally, Ryan." She had threatened him then.

The news turns out to be a big slap on his face. The thought of him letting go of all he had toiled hard for would hurt him more than anything else. He had made sure to give the company his all since he started working as an acting heir under his mother's supervision with the thought that in the future whilst he comes of age, they will emerge as his.

Ryan was forced to sign the marriage settlement, having no other preference to it, else he's going to lose all he ever spends of his treasured time and willpower on. He couldn't just think about losing it in such a go -no, he dreaded the thought of it.

Ryan was left with no choice but to start acting good towards Ciara, she was not as bad as he had thought from the start. His mother had an otherwise thought about it, thinking her son had decided to give in to her decision.

She formally made him sign the companies' document as the new heir even when he's secretly the owner of all Lemmer's property, she has been keeping him in the dark for years else, there wouldn't have been anything to threaten him with.

Not when she had already started having the thought that her son's mindset towards Ciara had been modified for the better. Soon, she thought, Ryan would completely forget about Anne.

Little did she know that Ryan's ex was out only of the country for some time after Ryan's near-death experience and was already back in the States -Ryan's mother never knew they'd started seeing each other again.

"Argh...!" He growled with a lot of anger in him as he pushed the flower vase that was kept on the center table. He did not stop at that, Ryan kept pushing and destroying whatever gadgets that lie in his way without thinking twice about his rational act.

He did not know why he was suddenly getting more irritated and angry, but he was sure Ciara was mostly part of the reason his anger was triggered. He tried to apprehend why she left unexpectedly, without informing him beforehand.

Did she not tell him she would never sign the contract until its due date? Why then did she sign and left without even waiting until he returned home, at least?

"You can't pressure me to do things against my will. I'm sorry, but your silly threat can't move me..." Her voice rang in his head. Right!

His threat won't make her sign the papers except the due date and for her to sign them without no one compelling her to do it, definitely something must have gone wrong somewhere.

'But what could it be...?' He asked himself, but it seemed like the more he tried looking deep into it, the more burdened he got, and at that moment, he felt his head spinning.

"How dare you make me go nut, Ciara, even in your absence?" He bellowed, a deep grunt escaping his throat as he hit the glass with him on the floor. "How dare you, eh?"

Just then, the large door creaked open, revealing his mother. He barely observed her presence since his back was turned on her. Majestically, she threaded her steps gently and walked in the direction of him.

"This won't help you, Ryan." She called out to him, emphasizing her words -her unannounced presence was enough to make him jolt, since he did not see her coming.

"Mom..."He called slowly, his voice trailing off as quickly as it came. "When did you come in, why are you here?"

"Does that even matters?" She replied to him with a rhetorical question, her gaze running through the house. "Look how much you have reduced almost every of the interior decor to ruin, what's the cause of your anger? Our argument earlier today?"

This time, her question needed an answer even though her voice was laced with a trail of mockery, but then, she received nothing from him as a reply -not even a simple nod.

"Oh, I guess I'm right then." She said simply with a slight shoulder shrug as she strutted towards the nearest couch to have her seat. "You should sit too, you know." She told him, gesturing to the opposite seat.

Reluctantly, Ryan did as told. "Why are you here, mom?" He repeated his last few words, staring demandingly at his mother, who appears not to elevate an eyebrow over his nonchalant attitude.

Ryan's mother ransacked the purse with her for a few seconds before she brought out her phone that was vibrating in her bag. She picked the call-up and placed the phone on her ear, listening without saying a word at first.

"Are you sure she's the same person?" She asked the caller."Okay..."That was her undeniable reply before placing the phone away from her ear. As quietly as she had brought it out, she returned it in the same manner, too.

"Where are the divorce papers you requested Ciara to sign...?" Her query came out, touchdown so dangerously like a ticking time bomb -the facial features on her face says it all.
