"Ayenna, why are you here? Come on! Let's play with mom and dad," my twin said smiling as he forced me to stand up.
I just smiled sweetly at her. "Just go, Arrow, I'm tired now."
I had to lie, everyday, because I didn't want to see the awkwardness on my parents' faces anymore.
"But I want to play with you, Ayenna, please join us?" he begged.
I just smiled and shook my head. "Arrow, I'm really tired. I can't play anymore."
She pouted her lips mischievously. "You're not even doing anything, Ayenna, how can you get tired?"
I was shaken and laughed at his meanness.
"All right, let's play, they're waiting for you inside the palace." I gestured to her to leave but she just shook her head.
"You're always alone, my twin. Why? Aren't we supposed to play together with mom and dad? We are twins, Ayenna," he asked, frowning.
I realized that she's really younger than me, she didn't even know the things that were going on around her.
"But I don't want to play with them, Arrow, I'll play with you, but not with them. So go ahead, I'll leave first." I patted her head as I walked away from her.
But I stopped when he suddenly spoke.
"Why won't you play with them? Is it because of the way they treat you, Ayenna?"
I turned to him and smiled bitterly. "There are some things that you won't be able to understand, Arrow, when we grow up you will also understand."
"What if I never had the chance to grow up with you? I want to understand now, Ayenna." She sounds so sincere, and it scares me.
I never want her to hate mom and dad, because I am not selfish to take away my twin's happiness.
"Arrow, you're still--"
"Do you want me to hate mom and dad too? You're on my side, because you're my twin, Ayenna. So tell me, please?" she said with her pleading voice.
I came over to hug him tightly. Even if I wanted to cry on his shoulder I knew I couldn't do that.
I don't want her to feel the agony I'm feeling, even if she asked me, I'll never tell her.
I couldn't help but cry as I watched the photo of the two of us with my twin when we were kids.
My twin, Arrow, I am so sorry if I forget about you. I didn't mean to, my twin.
I tightly wrapped my arms around the photo I was holding as I remembered the days we were still together.
She's the only one who's always there for me, aside from my grandfather. He was one of the people I could run to whenever I was hurt.
Even though he doesn't know why I'm crying, he doesn't ask, because he wants me to be comfortable.
But I am such a mess, I forgot about her, I forgot my own twin who did nothing but make me feel that everyone is equal.
She was there. I watched her while those bastards were molesting her.
I was there, watching him struggle.
"No! No! Stop! Arrow!" I cried and begged when I saw that the men in black were starting to tie my twin.
She just looked at me and smiled bitterly. Like she's telling me that everything's alright.
Like everything's gonna be fine.
"You idiots! Let him go! I feel sorry for you!" I struggled to get away from the armed men holding me.
I have done all the fighting I could to save my twin, but I am just a miserable kid.
I witnessed how they hurt my twin in front of me. I witnessed how they removed her clothes slowly.
I tightly closed my eyes because I didn't want to witness how they hurt my brother.
My eyes are shut. But I can hear my twin's scream because of the pain. And I almost died from it.
With my eyes closed, I still struggled and shouted for help.
But nothing has changed, I have no fight, I have done nothing to save my twin.
I was stunned when there was a sudden silence. I saw my twin covered with a large blanket while stunned in emptiness.
She's just 5 years old, how did those demons manage to do this to her ?!
Crying I crawled closer to her and caressed her face.
"A-Arrow," I said pitifully as I watched the tears dripping from his eyes.
"A-Ayenna. I-It's done, right? The demons are gone, right?"
That question made me cry even more.
I hugged her tightly as I caressed her face. "Forgive me, Arrow, w-I didn't do anything. I'm so worthless, I'm so worthless, Arrow."
She smiled at me sweetly as if relieving me. But I will never be relieved of what I saw and what happened to him.
"Ayenna, y-you're the best twin, for me. And even in my s-second life, I'll choose you to be my twin again." I shook my head repeatedly and wiped the tears from her cheek.
"No, Arrow, don't s-say that. You'll survive, w-we'll do everything to escape again, okay? Froze will be back here, he'll ask for help," I convinced her.
He closed his eyes tightly as his own pain subsided.
"They ruined me, Ayenna, my stomach aches. My whole b-body aches, and I'm tired of dealing with it anymore," he said emphatically.
I gasped with that. No, she can't be tired. We must escape and survive together!
I cringed when I heard a loud bang.
I cried even more when I saw my twin hit in the stomach.
"No, Arrow, no," I promised, shaking.
"Ayenna, r-run."
"My sister, please stay alive, okay?" I begged him while covering his stomach.
She shook her head. "I'm b-bleeding too much. I can't h-handle the pain anymore."
Crying I shook her hand and pressed my hand even harder. "No, my twin. You'll live, we'll still be together."
He smiled sweetly at me and kissed my forehead. "Sorry for the pranks I've done to you ... I'm s-so proud that you're my twin."
I sobbed as he slowly released me. I hugged him tightly and kissed his forehead.
"No! Don't say that! Twins are supposed to live together, right? Don't die yet, my twin. I'm begging you," I begged her with my pleading voice.
She smiled at me like she's saying goodbye. And before I knew it, she pushed me away causing her to be hit by the bullet.
Trembling, I sat down as I stared blankly at my twin's body.
How I wanted to kill those stupid jerks but I am just five years old, no matter how brave I am I have no opponent.
I chose to run away. Because I don't want to die with him.
I chose to run because I wanted to avenge my twin on everyone who hurt him.
And starting today, this is the only day I can remember and go back to.
